Thanks for the info. Just ordered the parts. Been dragging from a fishing pole.

Great video. Thanks. One issue I ran into is the brass pipe cap has thread size different from the on-stage goose neck. just ordered a 5/8-27 thread female adapter and hope that'll work.

Zunli Lu where did you order yours from? I ran into the same problem and can’t find one

Hi, Great vid. What thread is needed to screw into the deeper? Thanks.

Have the Deeper Pro Plus. Love this idea. My concern is the battery life of the deeper. I get 2.5 hrs on a full charge running it non stop. Even with the power box you made, you would have to charge the deeper. Any ideas "without buying a second deeper" on how to keep it charged longer?

Nice idea- wanted to do the same for the Ibobber - can you link the parts below?

Where can you find a 5/8-27 thread cap screw? The 3/8 brass screw does not screw on tight...

Any issues with sonar readings while paddling at cruising speed, say 3-5mph? I assume dragging it behind the kayak on a length of rope is no good...hence the mount? Great video!

The only time I have an issue with the readings is during extremely choppy water or if the unit is too close to my kayak. When I first started with the Deeper Pro, I let it hang from a rod. But the constant drag and tip action from the rod was problematic. This attachment has worked well thus far. I have used it on more than 12 outings in both flat water and slow moving rivers and he helps keep a consistency in the reading. Thanks for viewing and please subscribe for new upcoming video and reviews. Thanks.

Can you provide an update on how your mount is holding up? I'm curious to know if the screws actually hold the Deeper enough without it being unscrew by itself slowly.

Thanks for the comment. The mount is holding up great! I check the screw attachment each and every time before I start the trip but it has yet to become loose. However, I do find myself adjusting the proper angle of the (unit to water) positioning until I find what works best for the wave conditions of that day. Please subscribe to our channel and check us out on Facebook facebook.com/cackayak/ . We will be posting more about the Deeper unit throughout the Spring and Summer. Thanks.

Great video. Well communicated. Only issue I have with the build is how well it will hold up to salt water over time (since it is not stainless steel).
    Suggestions:
    1. Instead of using the CrabClamp, use a t-bolt. It will save you about $10 off your build, make it lighter and allow you to attach the flexi rod right to a yak's track system. From what I understand, this bolt from Fastenel is very compatible with track systems: www.fastenal.com/products/details/74026
Either epoxy/solder/crazy glue the bolt right into the gooseneck female end or find a reducer.
    2. For those that don't have a trolling motor, suggest people use a small powerpack which can be velcro'd to their tablet/phone case to ensure they don't run out of juice (something like this would work well: www.amazon.com/ZMI-PowerPack-10000-Lightest-Easy-Grip/dp/B06XRVHDLM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1502910166&sr=8-2&keywords=phone+powerpack
