Royal Enfield Classic 350 - NOT A LONG TERM REVIEW | Our Favourite Long Termer Leaves The Zig Garage
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- The Classic 350 has been one of our most favourite Long Term bikes. Now that it is leaving the Zig Garage, Priyadarshan Bawikar narrates his personal experiences with the bike and how he believes it saved his life by helping him rediscover his love for motorcycling. It’s a combination of the Classic’s easy going nature, its torquey 350cc motor that makes it such a delight to ride, whether you’re on the highway, in the city or even on a winding mountain road. It is a bike that just puts you in a zen mode and as Royal Enfield’s tag line says, it’s “Built like a Gun” - able to absorb whatever abuse you can throw its way and still coming out the other side as solid as rock. It’s not without its flaws though, and those are something we do discuss in this video as well

Hi Priyadarshan and team Zig,
thank you for narrating such a heartfelt and personal Classic story. We look forward to meeting you down the road again!
I’ve always maintained… this new Classic is just magic
Wow this is actually so cool coming from RE themselves!
RE please don't increase the price too greedly after the product Hits
Please make dual disc as standard in classic I have base model of classic reborn yesterday my bike slipped because I applied rear brake during ride at 40 kmph.
Good collaboration hahaha
Welcome back, brother. Didn’t know you had to go through all that. You are an inspiration. ❤️
A ride saving a rider that what's love is all about. ❤️
True man… and actually the Classic is actually so far removed from the kind of bikes I usually like (mad, fast ones). But the Classic is a bike that’s just keeps drawing me back to it…
@@PriyadarshanBawikar After decades of power bikes and speed, I have recently bought a new Classic 350 and it was the best decision of my life. A whole new era of motorcycling has opened up for me as I find that I honestly prefer small bikes for most rides, and the new Classic is just the bike for me.
My advice is to buy a Classic of your own.
In life, we stand up, fail, again try to stand up, again fail, but more we fail, we stand up with more will power.
I didn't know Mr. PD had to go through so much in the last few years. I am so happy that managed to go through so much and come out so strong. I just wish Mr. PD all the best for your future.
Thanks a lot man… wouldn’t have been able to manage it all without the support of my partner, my family and friends. Hopefully all those health problems are a thing of the past now. Here’s to the future… cheers 🍻
thank you for sharing PD, please stay healthy and ride safe.
My Thunderbird 350 saved my best friends life by sacrificing its own chassis! One late night my friend was returning to his home from a family event. He was on the highway 🛣️ clocking 70-80 kmph when all of a sudden a drunkard with his classic 350 just rushed onto the road . My friend just crashed into the classics air filter zone. He flew for a few meters and fell down. His Mt helmet did its job and he escaped the accident without a single scratch. My thunderbird's front wheel got crushed, the suspension forks bent and the chassis took the whole impact and the horizontal members bent . Engine was safe though. We changed the chassis and front fork assembly. I have travelled over 35k kms after this incident and the vehicle is still a beast waiting to unleash. I feel like there's a soul in my bike and the deep connection I hold with it is irreplaceable. Done around 65k in 6 yrs. It's A 2017 bs3 beast. I still get a good 38-40 kmpl depending on the riding and traffic conditions!
Great to see you happy and healthy again! Stay blessed!
Good to hear that you didn't give up......much inspiring......❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
PD wish a good health. Keep riding, keep moving forward. Wish you all the best for the future. Keep shining.
The man and the connection with the motorcycle.. could be any, but that connection is so important. Piece of machine some may say, but its not, beats with you .. connects with you.
Thank you Priya for sharing this link. Loved the video and the story. Thanks PD. :)
Truth be told, this is one of the best videos I have come across in youtube of late. Sharing your ordeal amongst the biker community, requires immense courage, and for this reason, I have no doubt that this story would inspire many more riders. Take care and ride Safe PD!!!
Thanks buddy…❤
Glad to see you are back on your feet and doing what you love PD... Good luck !
Good to have you back PD. Wish you a full n medicine free recovery.
So this is my story. On 1st of December, last year I was on a commute in my city when suddenly an auto rickshaw came out of nowhere and hit me resulting in a fall. I fell hard on my right leg and the bike fell on my right ankle resulting in a fracture. Surgery was required and a plate fixed on my ankle. My right leg was in cast for a one and a half month and now I am slowly starting to walk. It's been two months now and I just can't wait to get back on my bike. Everybody else is saying, "Oh you should give up riding, sell your bike it's not auspicious etc. etc." I think they have their reasons and I am sure they are saying this for my good but I just want to get back on my bike once again. Sure, it was an accident and the bike didn't do anything wrong and after this I am sure I would want to ride even more than I did before. Oh and the bike in question is a Royal Enfield Classic 350 Halcyon green.
Wish u a speedy recovery and safe driving
And what about the bike's condition after accident
Lovely PD wishing you a great life ahead. For me it's my humble & trusted Bajaj Pulsar 150 that was a gift from my dad & had stayed by me in all most all phases of life & still it is there
All the best man...bless you!
Your experience inspired me to seriously consider a classic long ride. Me too recovering from a major illness and surgery. Thank you for sharing is positive story!
Heart touching story, thanks for sharing, you have been through a lot. Only way is up from here. Welcome back PD… & you look smashing… 😊
great to have you back. best wishes for the future.
Good to have you back and riding. Thanks for sharing the heartfelt story.
My life has been very complicated last 10 years, but riding a motorcycle keeps me sane and in balance with life. here's to all riders everywhere; keep revving.
Oh man!!!!! I am so sorry to hear about this. I am glad all is well. I too have been through a rough health patch but by RE 350 std and interceptor has been my sidekicks and helped me stay happy. Stay strong !!!!
Great Story for you Classic 350 and for me it's Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme 150 have completed 100000kms in my bike and still gives me smiles when I ride my bike great sharing loved it. and best wishes for your future health👍
My classic 350 signals is my first big boy bike. 57 years old. Still running it in. I absolutely love it! A real head turner. Wonderful to ride. A life changer! 👍😄😉
Initially thought it was just a clickbait headline and would be a metaphor but never felt so good being wrong. I feel you sir and bravos for facing such difficult times and carrying on. Have a healthy life .
good luck and cheers brother..
Hey Man..... God Bless!! Take care....!!
You are like a RE, getting back always and keep on riding
Also which song is played when you talked about Riders Mania and closing riff at the end.
Glad to hear your back on two wheels mate 👍.
Just be careful out there ok . Take care of yourself.
Peace out ✌
Thank you Priyadarshan for sharing the story and your connect with bike - inspiring!
Dear PD,
I knew you might have had health issues when saw u that you have lost so much of weight. But I am glad you are back and riding.
I too, am currently recuperating from a ruptured Achilles tendon surgery and riding is out of question for another couple of months at least and i miss it a lot.
But hearing your story has given me the strength and put things into perspective that you had to go through so much worse than what I currently am.
Hope you just get stronger henceforth and sending you all the good luck.
All the best.
TC

A really interesting account PD. Bikes truly endear themselves to the rider’s soul.
This refreshed a memory of mine with my electra 350 about 8 years back..
on my way back from Munnar broke out a violent storm that actually sent cars floating and crashing into each other. The roads as I knew it were full of potholes which were now completely invisible.. it was pitch dark too with no scope to pullover. With my wife as pillion, God by my side and the Bullet as my ride, we trudged along slowly but steadily. I could see the engine fuming, but never once did it stall. It brought us home safe and sound and for that I shall never forget it.
Cheers !
Glad the bike brought you back home safe brother. This actually reminds me a little of back in 2009 when I was riding a Thunderbird twin spark up baralachala in an absolute snowstorm with a visibility of barely 10 feet. That’s a day I’ll never forget 😊
You an inspiration sir
Thanks for sharing your story. Didn't know you had to go through that.
Best health wishes brother.
Miss that blue Jacket though.
I’m glad you liked the video bro. Hopefully all that is behind me now and I’m just looking forward to more riding in the future. As for that blue Icon jacket… it’s too loose now man. I’ve managed to get my weight from 97 to 78kg 😂
Riding is a therapy. A mini meditation on the move.
Once a Rider, always a Rider... Come what may... All the best PD
Fantastic video made special by PD's inspiring journey. Way to go!
Classic is classic, only owner(regular user) knows what is it. Good to have you back!!
I m riding RE CLASSIC 350 2016 BS3 model and it still give 44 kmpl milage. Its really a great bike.
Wish you all the best and many more rides on the classic!!
❤️PD glad to see you back!! Wish you good health and happy riding 😇
Wish you good health and many happy miles ! After covering nearly 2.6L kms over past 20 years, I can relate to you. I had a slipped disc and am recovering from it. Lot of restrictions and apprehensions. Hope to ride soon !! Never say never...
Very inspiring. Royal Enfield is not just a brand, it's an emotion. Every Indian can be proud of it.
Touching story to hear as a classic owner
All these things happened, and PD is still rocking.
Men, you are a mountain.
Stay strong, sir. God bless you.
Good to see you bounce back PD...You are a 🌟...
PD, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It is an inspiration to the rider's community. I am proud owner or Royal Enfield Bullet 350 (2016). I waited 20 years of my life to get my Bullet 350. My dad was a rider and he always said "You don't just go buy a Bullet because you can afford it. You need to be qualified and you need to earn a Bullet". 20 years later, I earned it. My Bullet is my first love and will always be. This year I'm planning to gift myself the Interceptor 650. Hope and pray that my dream comes true!
Everything is possible when you just believe and work towards it man. Here’s to all your happy memories on your Bullet and many more future happy memories with your Interceptor… cheers!
@@PriyadarshanBawikar Cheers!
go for it king!!!
Thanks for this review and sharing this . Glad you are back riding, glad you are healthy and back on your feet. Glad to hear about your love for riding coming back . Personally love the RE 350. Thinking of one too. Cheers
You are a fighter brother ... All the best for your future rides
It's so strange how much life can change suddenly.
May you have a speedy recovery.
And this video is one of the best storytelling out there. That it includes a bike, makes it top of the charts. 👍🙂
Thanks dude… went without a script in this video and just spoke from the heart. It did require a lot of trimming during edit though… 😅
A few months back, I did wonder where you went and looked you up on UA-cam to see if you joined another media house.
It's saddening to hear that you were suffering from a serious illness, but I'm glad that you're healthy now and we will continue to see more of you.
Thanks for sharing your story, PD. Wish you a healthy life ahead!
It's an emotion. . . ♥️
Thank you for sharing your story and glad that you have recovered. Being a owner of a KTM RC 390 and RE Himalayan, I can say motorcycles that evoke emotions are always special
Glad you liked it man. And so happy for you for your choice of bikes… such a well rounded garage 😊
So so good to have PD back at his best, thanks for sharing this!
Amazing story! I know this sounds a bit cliche, but for me it was the Honda Activa that gave me the confidence to ride a 2-wheeler.....zipping around in full throttle was just a different joy
Thank you for sharing your story. I am glad you are back!
PD you are an inspiration. I wish many more adventures to you and many more stories for us
It's great to see you in good health PD sir. More power to you!
Everyone loves bikes of all categories but when it comes to his/her father's bike, it's like 🥺 more than jewel. We both father and son ride same bike, I love so much than he does to his bike❤
Beautiful story...of man and his machine....wish you all the good health and more rides.....PD...😊
Didn't know you've gone through so much recently, I hope you recover completely and have a healthy life. Had an almost similar bike incident, but only I was able to avoid the collision. I couldn't have maneuvered so quickly and also have kept my balance at such speed if not for the R15! That damn thing has excellent balance truly!
Thanks man. Things are much better now. Have spent the past year focusing all on my health and thankfully I’m much fitter now. As for the R15, I’m glad it kept you safe man. I remember the first time I had ridden it (V1)… it completely changed my perspective about what a small sports bike can be. Here’s to you and your R15 and many more happy miles with it… cheers
RE. The brand that was almost gone , died off but was saved by Eicher and made a stellar comeback . Befitting that it played a part in one of its riders life. Truly REborn
I can totally understand. Since 2018 I had an open heart surgery, then kidney failed and did dialysis manually at home for 2 years (cause of Covid), then I had kidney transplant in 2021. Then I had severe Covid for 7 months (I obliterated it naturally 🙂 ) . Then blood pressure and diabetes went out of control. Now I stabilised all of this. I bought a bike (yes before a license for motivation 🙂 ) . I am taking training now and hope to start riding this summer. When I get my A2 license (UK) then I am going for the Classic.
Keep it up. You are doing well.
You seriously had some bad times PD. Can't tell you how many times I have watched your videos, take care buddy, wish you a Healthy life ahead. Next time I visit Mumbai, I will try visit Zigwheels office and meet you all.
an inspiration to motorcycle riding community bruh, we stand heads up with you & others. have a great life ahead.
Thanks brother…❤
Great to see you back on.... it will always bring you back home... no matter how broken it is...
Loved it !!
PD, had no idea that you went through not one, but two life threatening medical conditions. Glad to see you back and your story is truly inspiring. Keep rocking. Cheers!
Thanks bro
Hats off to your endurance PD... Great to know that you are back on the motorcycles. Wishing a happy and healthy future for you ! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man…it would’ve been a much more difficult journey without the support of my family and friends. Motorcycling was the final piece of the puzzle that helped me complete my recovery, although I wasn’t so sure of that for a little while after the surgery. But I’m so glad to be back to riding man. And I’m happy you liked the video. Cheers!
There are two things I want to say...
1st - good to hear that you are fit and fine after such a cronic illness ... May the god bless you a healthy time ahead.
2nd - I have so many stories with my Meteor. I am riding this machine for last two years and have scored more than 36 thousand kilometers, (more than enough for a long term review). And yes this bike has added a lot in my life.... RE doesn't make only bikes, it makes a companion.
A fighter always bounces back.... PD###
That's an amazing story ❤️❤️. Classic 350 has registered its own space in the 2 wheeler market which no other bikes can replace.
Huge respect to PD, I'm following him from his Autocar days one video that I was thoroughly impressed was a Hayabusa vs ZX14r.
Good to have you back PD. And thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations and how biking got you back. Beautiful and heartfelt video. Cheers and wish you many a happy mile ahead!
Thanks brother… glad you enjoyed watching it
More Strength to you brother. Keep it up
"The one thing that I did not miss, was riding my bike. And that was scary" - This line hits different.
And kudos to you for barging through the rouch patch, and the battering ram of a motorcycle helping you with that.
I had lost the zing for the Royal enfileds because they had become too common, but they are really, very special motorcycles.
My best feeling on motorcycle was when I used take my uncle's Suzuki Fiero to learn how to ride bikes. That bike had no breaks and clutch was almost free but it was so much fun to ride that bike, always had a smile on my face. The feeling was similar to riding a swing or seesaw in school playground. Than I got Pulsar 200NS in 10th and felt like the coolest kid in town. I bought it at Rs. 96,000 on-road and it was the most value for money bike in Indian history. 200NS is still with me after 10 yrs and only now I will upgrading to something else like a CB350 or Meteor 650.
10th!!
@@The.Dark.Knight. Yes 😆 lots of drama was involved to convince my dad. Most kids didn't even have bike and those that did had bikes like Discover 125. My classmate told me he couldn't believe how my father allowed me this powerful bike. We weren't rich or anything either, father is just a salaryman. Specifications wise the bike isn't outdated even a decade later.
Upgrade 2 an interceptor dude
@@qwertyme8338 Will take test ride soon of H'ness & Meteor 650. Need something comfortable. Meteor is fresh and has higher fit finish than Interceptor, spoke tire is a headache too, Scrambler 650 will be released this yr which is Interceptor but with USD and some other upgrades. I don't want to buy Meteor due it's low ground clearance and I have heard cruisers aren't suitable for our roads. Heards only good things about CB350 but it wouldn't feel like an upgrade after 10 yrs of 200NS.
As a fellow biker, glad to know that you got your mojo (no pun intended ;)) to ride back. Great to hear your life experiences in such a straight-from-the-heart manner. More power to you, PD and keep riding. God bless.
You can take bike away from a biker, but you can never take biking away from them. Really glad to have you back on track. Cheers man
Good to see you back.
Baby, you are an inspiration and a blessing. Love you ❤️🥰
Love you too baby 😘
I noticed you'd lost a lot of weight Priyadarshan. Didn't know it had been such an ordeal. Good to see you back. Take care and more power to you!
More Power to you PD
❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨ Motivating...🔥
Hello Priydarshan from Delaware USA! Your story is awesome. I also have a new Classic 350 and it has saved my life too due to ABS and solidness of the design. I love my Classic 350. Thanks for sharing your story.
Can totally feel you bro...recent times had been tough for me too..Had to go through a surgery and now i want to ride again nd i too am looking for a simple bike with emotions
Resilience - that's the word that represents Priyadarshan's personal journey and RE Classic as a bike, both! Kudos 👍
Good to know that you are back to life and back to work as well...best wishes 👍🏻 and by the way you are Much more Classic than this Classic 350....
Man I'm really sorry to hear this 😔. But glad to see you hitting the roads again 💝
It's really a brave and inspiring
Such an inspiring one. especially those still riding this heavy mean machine..🤘
Classic brings the human inside you out when u ride , i have the same story classic saved my life i didn't realised till he said about accident , i am not selling my classic it's it's 7th year now going good 2 times to Himalayas and back to Bangalore , no puncher 😁
Wish you many more adventures riding and in life ❤
Salute to your riding spirit. 👍🏻
God bless you with long healthy life.
Love Enfields..old or new... they are all awesome....I own six of them...ride one each day.... It's just zen meditation riding them...💖💖
PD you are a SUPERHERO and your Mom is a SUPERHUMAN 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
How blessed you are to have such an amazing friend circle.
Well as I say to my friends, Royal Enfield doesn't win you in specs sheet, it wins you in your heart. You just know that it's a keeper, a dependable partner. So as long as you are with your partner, even the bad roads are worth it as they are in life.
Just like Shumi and Kartik said in their recent Motor Inc podcast… the specs are only an initial indicator. How the bike feels to ride should be the only criterion to judge it
I have the same chrome red classic reborn bought in march '22 which I bought after seeing the astral ride video. rode above 10k in one year and planning to keep it for the next 15 years. love this bike.❤❤❤
Back in mid of 2017, my Dad met with an accident with his old Splendor. Long Scar on right forearm is visible till today. He was 61 then. I gifted him Classic 350 by Dec 2017. He rides that happily even today. Many advised him, including doctor, to switch to small vehicle, but I had different idea, which is helping him ride till today. 🙂
