Chineese 'friendship' have only brought us a lot heartburns in trade, UN seat, Pakistan and so on. Chineese could beat Indians every day in our minds through this 'friendship'. New found 'enimity' has atleast bought an upbeat and confident mood. Let's enjoy the feeling for sometime, and let 'friendship' build on a later date of mutual convenience.

Precisely! The so called friendship has actually been a smoke screen, while CCP China has always subverted Indian interests everywhere including the UN Security Council Perment Seat and to bring Pakistan's combat capabilities as close as possible to India etc. It's not just hot springs and Aksai that are the concerns of CCP, but they consider India itself as one of their chief adversaries that need to be sorted.

I think it's time to call spade a spade.
A Distinguished Chinese scholar is talking about how Hot Spring areas were used by local Chinese population for healing and then goes on to describe what India has in it's mind. We talk about Chinese pragmatism of proposing a line in 1959 and then only coming to that line in 1962 and withdrawing magnanimously after that. We talk about British power games that drove them to define boundary between India and Tibet, with the Tibetian local administration of that time. The same China which claims the whole of South China Sea, the Same China occupied the Tibet and then try to redefine the boundaries accepted by then local administration, the same China magnanimously gives loans and then defends intelligently the infrastructure where the capital was invested, is now rightly claiming what they have been claiming from decades in India. But then Indian have also been going to Mansarovar for centuries so lets start claiming Mansaoravar. Indian ocean is named after India so lets start claiming it. Many Chinese have been practicing Buddhism so let's start claiming apart from Tibet, part of China was an Indian state. May be in five or six decades some Chinese journalist will be talking same like you Sir, and may describe India's claim with such a sugar coated language with all the intellectual backings of books written and what distinguished Indian professor says in the interviews.

Tell me exactly you would come to this conclusion that a land is "illegally occupied" how this "illegal occupied land" be legally "un-occupied?" Through what mechanism? How would you carry it out? Do not throw words in Internet and assume that by throwing words that somehow something becomes a reality to your liking.
From Chinese perspective, Tibet is always part of China. It is quite logical: if Tibet was not part of the China, how come Tibet called Beijing the Central Government for so many centuries? And how come Tibet HAD THE NEED to declare independence TWICE with Brits support? Tell me, if a nation is independence, why did it need to declare independence from a foreign entity? It must have a governmental relationship prior to justify such an action right? So the Chinese government, once the Nationalist government (which is now in Taiwan by the way) sent in troop to crush the separation group. And the second time, another Chinese government, the CCP, sent troop to crush the second separation group. Neither government accept the independence. In another word, Tibet was never an independent country FOR A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT TO INVADE AND OCCUPY.
So what is your "legical explanation" that Tibet was "illegally" occupied by China? Don't throw words. Use facts.

The real solution lies in making India economically strong. And that's possible only if we let private companies grow our wealth without Govt. hinderance. Of course Govt. will need to make sure no one breaks the law. Govt. has no business to be in any business. Govt. should not run airplane, mills, Trains, bus, telephone, oil, banks etc. Look how private companies made India #1 in software and Pharma. We wasted 66 years trying the public sector way, lets try the private way now.

Economy can only do so much. After that it's the audacity of the soldiers. Why do you think China is hesitant in taking back the heights which India captured a month back. As long as India has the audacity to stand up to China, they will not be at rest. Dhoklam was the turning point.

That's wrong. We are standing up to China because China does not believe in compromise. Compromise is a two way street. China's border with India is ever changing. It changes with time. We bought a lot of arms from USA. But India expects a lot from USA just because we are both democracies. Nehru even asked Kennedy for a fleet with pilots. He was a socialist but did not hesitate to ask for help from USA. Anyway, this is the first time in history of India, Indians are standing up to China. Yes India should compromise from a position of strength.

We never adventures in capturing other territory or taking a forefront in aggressing other’s area. What does SG want to say, we have capture China’s land because our poor neighbour could not defend their territory for having a geographical disadvantage. They are so generous that they let India come to their border. Sorry, we all know Chinese nature and though process; they are opposite in nature. Remember, from the beginning of Independence, India has philosophy we don’t invade and we don’t have an enemy. Though, it is proved wrong by them.
Guys, better to be careful and more importantly thoughtful about their strategy in winning the war. Now a day, they know that no need bloodshed to win a war. Better fund this spoke person, news channel, and social media to wash your mind first and rest will follow. Read and watch information, which are available in online sources; but, absorb it only after necessary filtration and processing that information in your mind. Here it goes my "conspiratory" mind: seems like 'someone's or 'something' has a privileged view of future events and, in the specific case of India, left lots of 'traps' (If you will) along the way as an impediment to the growth and prosperity of the Country.
China won't accept nothing less than the 1959 demarcation line. If India wants its territory back, it will have to fight for it; what implies a far fledged war.
War, in the best of the situations, imply destruction and stagnation for years to come!
A catch twenty two: if India doesn't fight, it loses its territory in two different ways. In the first way, yielding to the demands of China; or secondly, not yielding and kicking the can down the road for years to come ( like it has been for the last seventy years).
If India does fight and win it would be a sour win: the devastation, the cost of war and the acquisition of an almost sterile terrain (in the middle of nowhere) that can't add to the Indian economy as a whole or even contribute to the alleviation of the costs of such war! Never undermine the possibility of such war drag other Indian partners ( Countries) in this insanity apart of a possible secession of the Seven Sisters of the West...
It's a lose/lose situation, thus the hesitancy in taking any meaningful position until now!I
Just a point of view of an "Indianist"!

      Seven Sisters wont secede,
Even though insurgency is there in many NE states but secession is not even a remote possibility because Assam has a large Hindu population.
And unless Myanmar or Bangladesh try to play spoil sport and want to get itself burnt, China wont be able to mobilize enough support to let insurgents sweep Indian Army.
And even in that case it will be a Nuclear war.

If that is the case will India put a counter-argument to accept the Indian control of Arunachal (Mcmohan line) and settle the border issue for the major part?

Yet another informative show by SG. Border problems with Pak n China are the legacies of Pt. Nehru & the Brits. We have to look for a solution. None of great experts like Menon, etc do not suggest solutions. An appreciable solution was given by Lt. General Panag in the Print. India should consider China’s 1959 claim line as LC with few negotiations here n there provided China accepts the MacMohan line in the east.
That would be pragmatic rather than claiming to take back AksiChin, which is a day dreaming.

Are the Chinese willing to give up some of the territory they are already holding in return for India giving up claims on the rest of Aksai Chin? That means China intends to give up most of Pangong Tso. Too good to be true. This is prolly a mistake on the map!

The best analysis on the dispute. China is not interested in Indian territory. She is interested in trying India down at the border. The cost of mantaining a 50,000 men army in such an inhospitable environment for certainly tie down and constrain India's ability to expand it's navy in the Indian ocean. This will buy the Chinese time to expand it's presence in the Indian ocean

21:32 If this is what the Chinese think the Indian strategic calculation is, what is their incentive for any resolution through the military or diplomatic level talks? They have incentive to keep doing pinprick incursions and not settle any dispute, because it ties down Indian resources from being diverted to the Western border or the Indian Ocean. Does this mean they are saying it makes sense to keep the LAC simmering enough to keep India investing in its defence but not too active that could call for a swift resolution? Basically creating a low intensity long term problem that eats up resources over time?

But withdraw to position before the winter to position they can supply during the winter which because more or less the current LAC. To this day the Chinese still have not given up their original claim so therefore they claim land beyond the LAC. This is and was the position taught in World History Course in the United States.

THICK NIB ...Well coined and well said.
Borders between nations are drawn by negotiation and give and take. Nehru, though a great man and a nationalist did not sit down with Chinese to draw borders. So, now, we have borders that were drawn by foreigners who had no interest in local needs. The English drawn lines to suit their needs irrespective of local history and needs. Durand line has divided same people so has Punjab and Bengal. India has more Nations than Two. Afghan, Punjabi and Bengali have been what they are now for generations: Muslims, Hindus, Sikh, Christians and Buddhists ... speaking the same language and practising different faiths. I feel more akin to an Urdu / Hindi speaker than to a Sindhi or Bengali ... 'Tis about time Indian Junta become Indian and not the boot licker of the White. An Indian is closer to a Pakistani than to an Englishman ..and that is the FACT ... Kashmir is like Norogno Karabagh ...Let them be free to decide ...Once it is sorted out, there will be no problem and India and Pakistan can be the USA and Canada ...

Not a bad analysis regarding India's strategic position on snuffling the Chinese in the Indian Ocean. General Rawat made an emphatic statement at a US Military Academy about the South China Sea in April 2020. That must have riled China as the South China Sea and the Belt and Road as the alternative land route are both under threat. China could be strangled economically. That is the driver for their actions. Unfortunately, India's assertions on Kashmir, including Gilgit Balistan is as critical a threat to the matter. This has brought about a total strategic co-incidence of China-Pakistan relations. The trick for India is to have these interests to be split. That involves India and Pakistan resolving Kashmir. The solution is to grant Kashmir independence and to jointly guarantee its security. That would open up the possibility of the TAPI trade route and resolve India's frustration of access to the Central Asian markets and indeed both countries will trade their way to peace. That is the strategic reorientation required. Both countries have a common historical lettuce in their cultural salad. They do not have the same commonality with China.

Dear SG, the whole problem began with the CCP annexing Tibet and ending with the Dalai Lama and his people fleeing Tibet into India. The current problem has to be seen holistically from that perspective. India needs to negotiate with CCP for the return of Dalai Lama and his people to Tibet as well as the demarcation of the boundary. Only then the boundary issue will get settled permanently once and for all. We should not be taken into the spin given by some of their scholars saying that India wants to needle China and settle with Pakistan, so that we can take on them in Indian Ocean. Excellent coverage by Sri Gupta Garu. It seems clear that China has become paranoid on seeing India becoming stronger , believes that a strong India will pose a threat to the larger Chinese interests of aiming for a rightful place in the world order . The border issue is an outcome of China’s fear .If we view the issue without hype it is logical to apprehend that China would like to see a weaker India and preferably an India divided into bits and pieces which development would serve its larger interests .The ultimate solution would be to stand firm at the boarder , at the same time to engage China diplomatically and convince them that a stronger India is in its own interests and that India don’t have territorial ambitions unlike China but would not like others to interfere in its internal issues.

Do you know why China and India have remain at peace for millenniums? That is because there is no boundary needed between these civilizations. The high mountains ARE THE BOUNDRY. It is only when the Brits who came up with this boundary BS that caused these two great civilizations to fight against each other. It is just in a village, people walk free with each other and they tolerate each other's presence. And then there is an evil man came to the village, and started putting fences around the houses of the village so he could claim the area by the fences he put up, and then the whole village starts fighting with each other BECAUSE HEY WHY DID YOU SAY MY FENCE IS NOT GOOD AND YOUR FENCE IS BETTER?
You see, the fence brings war, not peace. The fence's only purpose to for the evil man to claim something that is not even his to begin with. But since he makes a fence, some how that becomes a symbol of ownership.

Chinese proposing 1959 claim line proof one thing for sure ,chinese leadership never wanted war before nor does it want it now(it was only for diverting attention for internal strife ) though Galwan incident caught them off-guard neither can they go back nor come forward ,hence the new offer. One brilliant thing Indian leadership and defence establishment have been doing for last couples of week by testing and deploying different strategic weapons one after another is clear signal that we are ready and war may not be limited to border areas with high tech weaponry deployed all over the horizon(as Chinese think tank themselves have been mentioning about the blockade in Indian ocean if there is larger conflict beyond borders areas)that mean they are worried about India's capabilities beyond the immediate borders conflict and want solution for future, hence the 1959 claims line ,but Indian leadership is making mistakes by simply saying no as before, because there is no ambiguity in no , instead India should say ok we will look into it and throw one question to Chinese leadership of it's own if you accept Indian kashmir position and accept pok as indian legimate claim under illegal occupation of Pakistan and relinquish other boundary claims (Chinese will hard pressed to accept these demands)than we can think about accepting 1959 claim line(mind you aksai chin was never in full indian control,a settle border with China will be immensely helpful )but it will difficult for Indian leadership to take strong decission because of past position hence the ambiguity is need of the hour not simple no or yes.
