I've been doing three count hustle (also called club hustle) since the disco days and continue my craft to this day. That being said, this tutorial spells it out nicely and you can pick it right up. Practice...practice...practice.

Keenly, Van McCoy's "The Hustle" caused the blast-off of the hustle dance explosion in 1975, but it was "Saturday Night Fever" 2 years later in 1977 that brought "hustle" to the disco limelight.
And you probably know that this hustle craze did not last long in that. Steve Dahl destroyed disco in 1979, which included the hustle dance that was attached to it.
But hustle dance re-surged quickly, especially with 1980s pop music from Madonna---"Express Yourself", my two bits, re-energized the hustle craze after the 1979 disco demolition.
That's why even at 53 years young, I still love to do the hustle.
13:34 - I recognize that hustle move. This is known also as a "coaster", or, since this is almost like mambo here, a "cross-body" or "cross-body lead."
Very clear video for the steps. I never understood why this dance (4/4 music) is made with 3 counts repeat pattern. How do I match music?
Great question. It's just designed that way. It does not match the music in the traditional sense. It's really tricky to get the hang of because of it. The high level dancers however are able to do some pretty cool things musically with it. Keep up the good work. Let me know if you have any questions or would like a video on a specific topic! -Brian

When I used to dance 🕺 hustle is in you natural, hustle is like a version of salsa 💃 is about leading, back in the 80’s was a mix of us Latinos dancing salsa and disco 🕺 😊, back in our days , we didn’t have dancing school to learn hustle lol 😂

Swing (East Coast Swing single time) was one of the most important sources for what was cobbled together and dubbed Latin Hustle but is now called NYstyle Hustle. Many dances were borrowed from.
But unlike ECS, there is zero bounce & no hip action. Balletic arms.
