But when there is a story with footage that is connected to Pedro Hewitt and the Phelper + I'm all in.......

I think that era of Thrasher will be remembered for a long time. I really enjoyed reading issues of road trips with Jake and hearing skateboarding stories/legends from him. They were going well out of their way to find some remote spots that were hardly touched, if ever. Jake was a skate historian and I miss hearing those stories already.

I remember getting that mag in the mail and being blown away by that spot. I started really paying attention to Bailey after this. He's the one who made me fall in love with frontside ollies and it became my favorite trick. I'm stoked they finally showed the video of this trip 🤘🛹

@@nicolasbaker9601 no, there’s another pic that has graffiti on the pool wall. It’s a skull with horns in red spray paint. And the fire is in a barrel, not just on the flat bottom. I think it was in a Transworld like 20 years ago. Arizona road-trip that had Muska, Dill, AVE, Arto and Templeton.
But yes, this thumbnail is of Hewett.

I’m searching Google images and I just can’t find the pic. I’m almost certain it was Rowley. It was a front smith in a pool, there was a fire barrel at the flat bottom, and a devil skull with 666 on it spray painted up the pool wall right below where he’s grinding. It’s really driving me nuts that I can’t find the pic.
Yeah- Rowley grinding a pool seemed kinda out of left field, that’s why I remembered the photo- like, “damn, Rowley got front grinds in the deep end like that?”

the fire story is made up… You didn’t got there at night and lit the fire to skate. You camped at the bowl, skated during the day and then did a bonfire. You even put the photo of the unburned wood… contradicting the story. And there’s a photo of you camping and the floor is clean. Take it easy with the lies
