  • The Weinheim wastewater treatment plant relies on Flottweg's high-performance centrifuge for sludge dewatering. Learn more about the Flottweg Xelletor now: www.flottweg.com/product-line...
The wastewater treatment plant treats the wastewater of 200000 inhabitants, with a catchment area of about 200 square kilometers. The sludge produced during wastewater treatment is fermented in digesters as biogas and digested sludge. The resulting digested sludge is then dewatered using an X5E centrifuge.
The wastewater treatment plant operators were faced with the challenge of no longer being able to achieve the necessary throughput with the existing chamber filter presses. Furthermore, the high costs for dewatering were an additional challenge.
Manuel Ritter, wastewater supervisor at the wastewater treatment plant, is very satisfied with the investment in the high-performance centrifuge from Flottweg: "The machines run absolutely quietly, the machines run reliably, and the machines are fully automated. This has simplified the whole working process for colleagues as well, and has also created working space and working time for other activities, saving us a lot of money."
With the new industrial centrifuge for dewatering, the treatment plant saves up to 20 percent on flocculants, with lower energy requirements than before. The more efficient dewatering also reduces transportation and disposal costs.
"What made Flottweg special for us was the support and assistance through the entire process. That means, from the idea generation, from a purchase of such a machine up to now the actual realization of the construction and commissioning, we felt constantly well accompanied and had also constantly competent contact persons to it at the hand." - This is how Manuel Ritter describes the cooperation with Flottweg.
