There's nothing like that feeling you hear Nicko McBrain yelling behind Mars and Pat they can't help but look behind them and smile a very difficult riff there pulling off Pat and his trio probably the most underrated guitar player in Rock history . The karma that reaks off this band if it doesn't give you chills you know very little about Rock and Roll
I am a guitarist in the Chicago area, we had a progressive band from about 1975 to 1985. Pat was one of my revered influences, he was a master of syncopation and rhythm, he never landed on a downbeat!! Cool as hell, his compositions were a gas! I saw him live at about 3 shows and he never disappointed. We covered his tunes as well as Yes, Toto, Genesis and more. I will tell you he had the most innovative funk rock tunes I have ever heard.
You got that right he seemed to come up with some kind of a funky break . And squeeling solos that could peel the skin off of a potato . Man he was so underated and to hear Nicko yelling in the back louder than the weak ass crowd lol
Total funk Rock With a disco drum beat Masterpiece hands down. with the phenomenal Nikko Mcbrain on drums. Who has garnered tremendous success slammin drumms with IRON MAIDEN.
I REMEMBER THIS CONCERT SO WELL ______SUNDAY EVE ROCKPALAST* SO LONG AGO_____I BOUGHT MY FIRST ELECTRIC GUITAR A FEW WEEKS AGO________THX FOR THAT UPLOAD MATE*
No doubt Makin Magic was Pats masterpiece IMO. Overlooked as one of Rocks great vinyl recordings.. Just as Mars Cowling was an oversight on Greatest Rock Bassists of all time.. Love PT
I have to put "putting it Straight on your list as well Nicko was still with Pat and one of my best friends handed me the 8 track tape of Making Magic . In 1976 had never heard of Pat Travers back then a stunning discovery to say the least
Nice to revisit Rock in it's golden era... Mars, Travers, Nico...this is the definition of power trio....Could anyone even write a song this crafty nowadays? ...I can't help to think what an idiot the guy with his chin in his hand at the end. Oh well, oblivous obvious to what he was seeing. He's probably a food industry manager now living in a camper...actually that's an insult to Food industry managers.

Mr. Travers definitely puts the Quote "Take No Prisoners"to a new level!
