I have CP and I tear through shoes very quickly with the way I drag my feet. Will definitely be looking into these for myself! Thanks for giving us disabled folks a place to gather. Your channel makes me feel seen. ❤
I know this video is about the shoes and all. But I am looking at your beautiful self. So that makes this vid about u. Hey A. B. ! Absolutely Beautiful!
These would be helpful for me, who often goes out to the bins and bird feeders bare footed because bending down to put shoes on is too painful. However, my wife is hemiparuplegic and wears a splint on her paralysed foot. She has to wear shoes that are both supportive and have some give to fit the splint in. My wife can have shoes made through orthotics but they tend to be less than pleasing to the eye. She’s a massive Sketchers fan and has goodness knows how many pairs.
Thank you very much! They look interesting. They just don’t come in the color that I would want. I like to wear basic black. I know, BORING! But the shoes themselves look very cool and comfortable.
Get that sponsor girl !!! I'm glad you got some shoes that work out for you .. I too am disabled, and just punish my shoes ... Doesn't help that I'm also 6' 4" and 210lbs ..😂 My shoes never last ...
Thank you for sharing this! As a fellow woman in her 30s and Cerebral Palsy strong 💪🏼 💚 I am always wondering what shoes others wear! I love shoes but my feet hate most of them and rip them up pretty quickly. Thank you for posting this. Love from California🏔️🎄☀️🩵
Hope companies get wise and throw a girl a sponsorship. Beyond that, I have a pair of Sketchers step in shoes that work like a charm. They look laced and like a regular shoe but can easily step in or out of them. Not sure how the toe would wear. I’m thinking it might be good if you could find a strip of rugged but flexible rubber or plastic to match the sole of your shoes and just glue it to the spot that gets the most wear in the toe. Could use super strong glue. Also could use some harder plastic if it is better for it to slide over surfaces rather than grip. You could pick the material that gives you the amount of grip you prefer. Then if the strip wears through, remove what’s left and replace. Might preserve the shoes much longer.
Cool shoes. My son who has CP has been wearing Billy's brand shoes for several years. They zip up on the side as well and they work great with the AFOs and other orthotics he uses.
I bought a pair of Billy's boots at kohls for $5 with my kohls cash and bought the kids size 7, which is a ladies 9. At first, I was disappointed, but they worked with my new orthotics. I also like new balance and easy spirit with afos., Keen and Merrell if you just need support.
I have never had zippers on shoes before...I might have to try them. I had velcro as a kid but they weren't really strong enough to keep my feet in place. So I have always had laced up shoes and they are not the easiest thing to tie since my CP affects my left hand too, but I manage it, sometimes it just takes a few tries. My shoe of choice these days are New Balance (most comfortable) and Hokas. I have to get the thick soles, since I broke my foot twice within 2 years (different bones) and the blame was placed on my gait.
Reebok was SMART, so as to no longer be known as the “white supremacist” line of footwear (ie: opposite of Nike), by releasing disability accommodative sneakers! … 👟🧠💡👍✨

Also sketcher's slip INS are alsoh very good for people with drop foot or people who unintentionally drag their feet. The sketchers have no laces.
