We made our way back to Hanover parish to present to you another update of the Princess Hotels & Resorts Jamaica! This is one of the newest and most talked about development to hit the parish of Hanover, in the small town of Green Island. This is our sixth (6th) time at this location and subsequently our fifth (5th) update of this Resort.
With our last update being in January 2024 amidst the first scheduled opening date of February 2024, we made our trek very early as we were once again anxious for the new developments and to observe how close to being ready, if ready, they were for June 2024! Work is still on the way and from the video you will see how far along they have come since we last visited.
Having a total of 23 Hotels in the Caribbean and worldwide, Princess Resorts is one of the most popular franchise in the Spanish-speaking countries within this region. They have Resorts in countries such as: Mexico, Dominican Republic, Punta Cana, The Canary Islands and also Barcelona. This inclusion if the first of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean and they have graced our shores with an inaugural entrance in the Hotel and Tourism industry with one of the largest Hotels on the Island!
We have been following the progress of this development for over year and a half now, nineteen (19) months to be exact, amassing five (5) videos preceding this one; here's a sequential list of all our videos of the Princess Hotels & Resorts:

My impression of the Rogers is that it has "topped out" so the progress isn't as obvious now (more internal work, etc.)

Jamaica's largest hotel... I can tell just by looking that this development is close to being finished, because Riu Aquarelle was like this a month or so ago and in a week or so it was ready. So maybe June 3rd is reasonable.
Glad we were able to deliver. This is a massive Hotel indeed, but we stil think Grand Bahia Principe is bigger. We hope to one day capture that Resort 😊
They have alot of work to do before they are ready, doubtful about a June 3rd opening though, but let's see.

Another year from now, we are certain it'll be in full operation by then.
I don't think they will be postponing the opening any further. Ideally i would say in July or August. However, they already missed their initial deadline. These ppl are very disciplined unlike our culture. Time is money and the more they delay their opening it means more money they will be spending and also losing.
So we shall see how it pans out. I am aware from credible sources that the paving of the road way will be done before the opening date.

I noticed a new EIA posted for a new service road for phase 2. Looks like they are not going to waste any time there. The goal is to keep construction traffic away from phase 1 traffic when it opens.

They need to bring in a lot more white sand, especially in the area around those over the water bungalows, right now it does not look that appealing.
Hopefully it’s opening in time for my birthday in February doubt it’s gonna be open for this summer over water bungalow is already booked 🎊 🎉

Considering the hotel is due to open next week. Construction looks like it has a long way too go. Grounds barely look completed. Resembles nothing at all like the photos on their website!! The hotel and its website should be keeping customers updated!!...I hope those who have booked for the soft opening are keeping their fingers crossed!! Highly unlikely at this stage!!
Unfortunately their website only has a couple 3D renderings (virtual) images and no real pictures, because it’s not complete yet 😅

Yes a Casino was advertised as a part of the attraction. However, another Hotel that is being built in St. James also advertise having a Casino.

Getting staff is pretty easy in general. But qualified people who know their way with luxury industry standards… would require some months of training. Hope they’re already training their staff 😊

In the early days it was only American hotels you could find in Jamaica. Until PJ Patterson goes to Spain and get Spanish investors to come to Jamaica and invest and the rest is history.😊
PLEASE STOP SAYING OCEAN FRONT. Jamaica is surrounded by the Caribbean sea and there is no ocean. IT IS THE SEA FRONT.
