Some of the best memories of my life were during the hype of Batman Forever. This video, the movie, I was 21 and having an absolute blast. Jim Carrey was heading towards his peak. The movie definitely captured the frivolous bright joy of the mid 90s!
Everyone prefers the time during which they grew up. And which part of their life they look back upon and consider “the best.” I was a teen during the 80s (graduated from HS in ‘89), so the 90s were my 20s. To me the 90s were “the best” as I was out on my own, living free, and enjoying life on my own terms. Music-wise it’s the 80s.
Love this Song 🙌🏼 what a great movie cast this one had Val Kilmer, Nicole Kidman, Tommy Lee Jones, Jim Carrey, Chris O'Donnell, Pat Hingle, Drew Barrymore, Debi Mazar
I know Batman Forever isn't a great movie. but I watched it so many times as a kid and I still like it. This and Kiss From A Rose are the two songs that whenever I hear them, I think Batman Forever.
You're not the only one man! You must realize that not everything is created equal. Some will like things and some won't. Some movies will be blockbusters, and others will bomb. This was just one persons vision of what batman would have been like, pitched against the riddler, and two face. It's flashy, it's cheesy, it's the 90's. A little gem from our childhoods.
TheMoviefan356 it's probably the movie I've seen most in my life, it came out when I was five and on a huge Batman kick thanks to the animated series. I'm not exaggerating when I say I averaged watching this movie like twice a week for the first year I owned the VHS,. For a five year old Batman fan growing up in the 90s, this was the perfect movie. I wouldn't come to appreciate the Tim Burton films till a little while after I'd seen B&R (which was a disappointment to me as a kid, not dark enough and no Val Kilmer, he was MY Batman). Stings a little that my favorite childhood movie gets little to no recognition; even B&R gets props from people these days for being "so bad it's good."
Man it has been ages since I heard this; great song forgot how 90s it was. In fact I cant believe this was way back in 95...I would have been super young but remember it all clearly, benefits of having a much older sibling I guess!
This was the first U2 song I ever listened to - simply because I was a fan of this film and my parents bought the soundtrack. Little did I know I would become a huge fan of this band. Although, almost none of their songs I ended up coming to respect sounded like this one.
It would be great to see Val Kilmer make a special guest appearance on NCIS:Los Angeles and be reunited with Chris O'Donnell, who worked with him in the 1995 action film Batman Forever.
@@sketchyold Yeah, I heard they hated each other on set. A bunch of the actors on the set of Batman Forever couldn’t stand each other, especially Tommy Lee Jones’ hatred for Jim Carrey.
Miss eating at the WB restaurant in Vegas at the Venetian. They had a Batman themed dining area and it was like you were eating on a street in Gotham and they pumped in the soundtracks and city ambiance noise. I wouldn’t leave until I heard this song played at least once. I hated to see that place close back in like 2006?
The late 90s were a time to be alive in I was only 7 by 1999. But ppl were amazed by movies n graphics even if things were corny. These days ppl dont appreciate much n always want new stuff but there's many things that don't exist yet.
Great song! I rarely hear this song from U2 even on Sirius XM on the all 90s station. I saw U2 twice several years in between, both awesome concerts…they still didn’t play this song! Lol 😉
Have no humour, people complain, have humour, people complain; screw em'. This was the perfect nonsensical yet entertaining movie. If you left your brains at the door, you had a ball of a time.
Heard this tonight on a satellite station and said, man, i haven't heard this in years!!! So started thinking, im like, this is from batman if i remember right, and then i say, i think Val played batman and man i sure was right... been 20 so years since i heard this tune to.... love music, true time machine!
If I ever met Joel Schumacher, only thing I make sure to tell him, is; remember sir Batman Forever was great we had no problem with that, it just took a while for us to get Batman and Robin LOL Batman Forever was always good to go
Batman is supposed to be a dark comic. Joel thinks of anything comic book as "comedy" or "comical" and this just doesn't apply to Batman at all. The reason why Michael Keaton decided to bow out when he caught wind of what they would do with the movies under Joel.
Pre-Nolan Batman era, I thought this was the most apt bgm for the cape-crusader as swashbuckling heroism. But Nolan redefined the entire franchise. Still, love the soundtrack after all these years. And still much better than the blue-suit batman era of the 70s.
I fucking love Batman Forever. Yes there were problems with the colourful Gotham and Two Face laughing constantly but overall it is an awesome movie. I do wish we got Burton's version though
Batman Forever is the best batman movie, ONE brilliant sound track, TWO looks so good on the cinema, Three excitement and very intense, Four Nicole Kidman is sizzling and I knew Chris O' Donnell was going to take the world by storm as Robin
Batman Forever was originally going to be more dark and epic but McDonald's wouldn't have it after the backlash caused by Batman Returns. Check out some of the deleted scenes here in UA-cam.
I miss the 90's. A great time to be a kid.
Yes it was!
I agree.
Amen to that!
I totally agree
I have good memories of my childhood in the 90's: great movies, awesome music, legends of videogames. Feel always thankful whit this life
Some of the best memories of my life were during the hype of Batman Forever. This video, the movie, I was 21 and having an absolute blast. Jim Carrey was heading towards his peak. The movie definitely captured the frivolous bright joy of the mid 90s!
Actually Batman was Carey’s peak.
He had ~8 great movies in 1994/95 and then went downhill afterwards. (One was a hit but the rest were flops.)
.
My favorite Batman film, my favorite U2 song. The month of June in 1995 was one of the best experiences of my life.
The 90s what a great decade
80s were even better

This song takes me straight to Saturday mornings and Batman excitement ❤❤❤
I was 13 when this one came out, man... This soundtrack gets my memories back.

This is the first movie that I watched in a cinema.
Wow nice!
Funny mine was Batman 89 :D !
Mine too, i was 4 years old. And fall asleep during the movie... what a time to be a kid. Miss those days.
I was 8 when Batman Forever came out and my grandma took me to go see it, such memories man
Wicked music for batman! U2 one of the Best bands forever! So happy I grew up in this time.
30 years later this actually is a pretty good song
Its more than a pretty good song. A solid U2 song in their best period.

I was a kid during the 90s, good times. Who knew what the overlords had in store for us in the 21st century? Well, now most of us know.
U2 is a bad ass mfkng band. Still relevant in 2021.
haha no

One of my fav U2 songs, and perfect for batman ofc. Songs that use orchestra's have so much more power to set off great guitar and vocals etc.
I was 4 when this movie came out. My mom used to tell me that I would dance when this song came on! Great movie great soundtrack
After 25 years, finally found this today 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Happy Me 😀😀😀😀

What about the hands that built America from gangs of New york
and its one of their best, imo
Best Batman film of the 90s and certainly the best soundtrack
It would be great to see Val Kilmer make a special guest appearance on NCIS:Los Angeles and be reunited with Chris O'Donnell, who worked with him in the 1995 action film Batman Forever.
Too bad he got throat cancer. No one knows if his voice will ever recover.
That would be great!
Never going to happen.

i love this song and this movie

Best batman forever followed by Batman and Robin. Epic.
Awesome song. Batman returns and forever are my favourites.

Riddle me this, riddle me that. Who's afraid of the big black bat?🦇
I see without seeing, to me darkness is as clear as daylight
I still love this song … instantly travel to back then
This is my favorite batman song
i got opening day tickets to see The Batman with The Riddler and just catching up with the old Batman movies. cant wait!!!!
If all the extra footage of Batman Forever wasn't taken out, the movie's true running time would be nearly 2 1/2 hours.
Great song
U2 must've been very proud and honored to be chosen to perform 2 songs for the 1995 action movie Batman Forever. They must be Batman fans as well.
Have you seen their official music video for this? Big Batman fans
Always did love this Batman Forever movie back then!

To me, this is the Official Batman theme. This makes me watch Batman DCAU again and again ❤️
This is such a underrated movie. And the soundtrack way epic. 😊😎
The Joel Schumacher movies were fucking incredible lol. They were extremely sexual, hilarious, and colorful. Don't get the hate towards em.
His only good film was falling down the rest were so-so. But everyone has their opinion. ✌

@@zachhernandez8206 I love Falling Down. Best movie ever.
I think it was the Nolan films that really made people start hating these movies, which I get but I have alot of nostalgia over them
1:55 Alfred's such a professional, he somehow manages to arrive before Batman.
Best. Song. Ever.

I always wondered what Burton's 3rd movie would have looked like
Thankfully Nolan would give us a proper portrayal of Two-Face, who became the emotional core of the Dark Knight
I love Jim Carrey in this! I make sure to watch it at least once a year

A song that sounds like it was written for a darker, more bad-ass movie. Like a Daniel Craig Bond.
I felt the same way about the Smashing Pumpkins "the beginning is the end" which was written for Batman and Robin but redeemed by the watchmen trailer
More like George Lazenby Bond.
