Michelle Pfeiffer will always be the best Catwoman.
She’s nimble as a black cat
Semper.
For me Halle Berry too. Both 🤗
Agreed!! Ann Hathaway was just a waste of time. Can't wait to see what Zoe Kravitz does with the role!
Dan Gosselin ...ALWAYS.

Standards were slightly different. Men were gentlemanly and possibly there weren't as many ill-behaved women. Though, I may be wrong.
Not to mention, in Batman - I suppose those standards were upheld most of the time, in that time period.
“How could you?” “I’m a woman!”-Catwoman. I miss movies like these. Any movie she is in I’m will watch. What an actress.

Fun fact: Michelle nailed the whipping off of the mannequins’ heads on the first take (it’s her, not a stunt double) and the whole crew burst into spontaneous applause afterwards.if you search for it on UA-cam you can see the video footage! Although the heads were rigged to fall off, it’s still badass.
I think a professional taughter how to do it, without getting hurt.
I call BS. The heads were pulled back using strings
@@arunsp767 well ur wrong. She did nail them on the first take. The whip trainer said Michelle had a hidden talent for it and if she had stayed with it could have easily surpassed him. Even he couldn’t knock them off on the first try. But believe what u want.
@@greenlee7smythe Agreed. The heads were set up with strings . But she hit them anyway.
@@greenlee7smythe My point is hitting them could be done by her. But there is no way the heads fall off like that with a whip
Tim Burton's take on the look of Gotham City will always be unrivalled! It's quirky, unique and downright weird and that's why I love it!
yes it is dark gloomy and desperate. I like a dark Batman movie. it is supposed to be like that. unlike the ones by J Schoemaker☹️😅🤣😛
I agree Tim's version of Gotham will always be the best.
a gothic take on gotham
@@joelbennett9014 Exactly.
I read an article recently that said the same. There are many things to criticize about Burtons batman movies, but he nailed the depressing, dark imagery that should be gothom city.
Devito’s penguin is actually really underrated. The makeup and look was just so creepy. While he acted a bit cartoonish at time, I still liked his performance.
I know when i first saw it i couldnt sleep for two days!
As a Child i was afraid and repulsed by him and loved the catwoman and felt bad for her.
@@aleynamutlu4206 Catwoman as portrayed in this film was a more sympathetic villain.
underrated alert!!!
I agree! Danny DeVito was perfect as penguin! They really did a great job with the costume and makeup 😁
Michelle Pfeiffer has some iconic lines in this scene. She owned this role. I love her as Catwoman and Keaton will always be my Batman.
me too she did amazing work on this film!
I felt though the chemistry was lacking between her and batman though
Burton gave us the best Batman, Joker, Catwoman and Penguin. He would've given us the best Riddler and Two-Face aswell with Robin Williams and Billy Dee Williams had he not been axed by Warner Bros.
Same!
It’s sad that 28 years later, this is the only Catwoman in live action that looks the most faithful to the comics.
Then you haven’t seen The Dark Knight Rises and you know nothing about Catwoman.
F. N. Lorter My bad, I mean in terms of appearance.

Michael and Michelle were awesome
“You poor guys. Always confusing your pistols with your privates.” Michael Keaton as Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman are the ones I grew up watching in the early 90s ❤️

@@slycat128 do we have to know? She was boring.
Luvie1980 Halle Berry was boring.
I like that Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman is more childlike than the others. She knocks those mannequins blocks off just for fun and how often are we likely to see this character using her whip as a skipping rope? It's childish but it sets this Catwoman apart from the others.
It's 100 percent catlike. Destruction and mischievous, for no other reason than the fun of it.
One of Michelle's best acting performances, without a doubt! This role was meant for her.
Fun facts: she went through three months of whip training for this film, and decapitated those mannequins in one take.
Still trying to figure out how she made that catsuit out of a jacket she had lying around at home.
Y don't u question her becoming catwoman first
She fell down from a height and was nursed back to health by cats. That is how she became Catwoman

Not true. Kathy Long was her stunt double.
This movie still looks so awesome.

3:27-Penguin says "I saw her first". 3:02-Batman clearly sees her first.
Who said he had to be honest? lol He's the villain after all.
Lies like a politician? Yup, he could run for mayor.
Michelle Pfeiffer was seductive. Anne Hathaway was street smart. Halle Berry didn't do so well. Now let's see how Zoe Kravitz will do.
Hopefully she’s both seductive and street smart that’ll be accurate asf
And Eartha Kitt was sassy!
I think Halle still deserves her props. After all, her catwoman took place in a completely different universe, not canon with DC comics.
Halle did amazing with the material she was given. It's not her fault the director couldn't do his job. Her catwoman was the most cat-like as well as seductive, agile and had a charm.
Anne Hathaway was the WORST iteration of catwoman to date, people really gotta let the bad writing of Halle Berry's Catwoman go and admit she did great with what she had.
This suit design is still probably my favorite cat woman suit ever including the comics.

Michelle was the best Catwoman that will ever exist in my opinion. She nails the attitude and that's what matters the most in my opinion. She is an amazing actress.
I always loved the musical score for Catwoman. It goes between whimsical cat at play and dangerous feline on the prowl. I also love her skipping rope on her whip 😂
That skipping part was totally improvised by her. I don't think she expected to nail it on the first take (because her stunt double couldn't do it). But she actually did nail it on the first take.
“How could you…I’m a WOMAN” and Batman looking really apologetic after having been beat up just a few seconds ago 😂😂😂
4:24 - I can't believe that worked... ON BATMAN!
Batman Returns in my opinion is still the best Batman film. Talented cast, great pace, story, action. The city is dark and beautiful, so atmospheric. Costumes are great. The sound effects and music are great and memorable. Still the best Batman film for me.

Michelle Pfeiffer learned to use the bullwhip, she is awesome, awesome scene
We are so blessed to have had Pfeiffer as Catwoman
This film captured the exact balance between action and camp that Batman is supposed to be. Other directors after this either were too serious, or too childish. But Burton found the exact formula.
Preach it. That film is gospel.
🍷👍 Couldn't agree more, This is stuff i know i love to watch all day. Only Burton and Keaton can do justice to the bat again.
@@evm6177 I have great trust in Robert Pattinson after I saw him in a role that demanded a broad spectrum of acting (in "The Lighthouse", a great dramatic history/horror/psychothriller), and he just shone! He plays the lead in the upcoming "The Batman", and from what I gathered, it will go back to the DC roots, inspired by hard-boiled film noir detective stories. I only hope that the script/actors/cinematography/decor will be just as fine as that one performance I've seen from Robert Pattinson.
The Nolans take themselves too seriously. Joyless, & glum. I'm supposed to feel something for the characters, but I don't.

I can't describe how much I love Batman Returns. It's so campy, over the top, full of dark humours, yet the twists and turns are so real yet fictional.
I can't decide: in term of overall quality I'd always put The Dark Knight in the number 1 spot; but for entertainment and weird, quirky art, Batman Returns has no competition. Plus, Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman (the best and still the only) and Danny DeVito as Penguin - Goodness me, they were such singulars yet they worked together so well in the narrative!
