Have you ever driven the car with traction cotrol turned off completely , and if so is it hard to accelerate out of a slow corner considering that you have a lot of power under your right foot. I would imagine the back could break out quite easily :)
not for any extended period of time. I find position 1 being quicker around a track and certainly easier. it has a little bit of SSC allowing you to "close" a corner without sliding too much
Thank you so much for the beautiful video, Mr. West... It's amazing that you were mostly short-shifting, well before the peak power and the redline... This engine is arguably the greatest of all times, this side of F1. 9k is simply, Ferrari territory.
Personally I think the engine in the 599xx is more impressive. As to shifting, there is so much torque with the hybrid system that it doesn't make any difference from a laptime if you shift up marginally early
@@AlexanderWest i totally agree. I myself prefer the FXX Evoluzione engine, and that single clutch transmission is pornography. Have you driven the fxx or fxx evo as well?
How does the perception of speed feel jumping between this and the F1? Just watched them side by side an it's phenomenal how quick the corners appear in the F1!
This just makes you realize how fast f1 cars are, this car with it's massive breaks, starts breaking just before the 250m board, while an f1 car going around 320km/h starts breaking in the middle of the 150m and 100m board before the first chicane, Crazy.
Great content man! Just out of curiosity since you've driven both, (idk if you're allowed to talk about this, but I'm genuinely interested in the opinion of someone who's drive both IRL) how do this and the P1 GTR compare overall?
Dear mr. West, I am honored to inform you that your former BAC Mono has safely landed in my garage. Car is above and beyond expectations. Going to drive it in Monza as soon as possible.
very cool. not sure if Monza is the best track for it. Mugello would be awesome, Misano as well. only thing to be somewhat careful with is downshifting to 2nd from 3rd as the rear can lockup. hope you enjoy the car.
@@AlexanderWest yes, I know Monza is not the best track for the Mono. Mugello or Imola will be much more interesting. I need hundreds of hours sitting in the car to gain all the needed confidence in fast curves and bends. I just understood that Mono will bend my neck. 😖
@@utterlybonkersdaddy5299 Imola is one of my favourite tracks and would be a lot of fun in the Mono. yes, just build up the speed as you do more and more. your fastest lap should be your last..

There is a video of a LaFerrari FXXK reaching 338km/h on Daytona. That's around 209mph-210mph. I think that's pretty quick and I'd estimate that it can easily pass 217mph on Le Mans.
Alexander West do you have to be a Ferrari collector? Or is it just payment for the rental of the cars. Also is it like a small house payment or like life savings kinda payment.
well i could mistake, but acually its simple... you buy the fxx and whenever there are you partecipate to the calendar Ferrari create for the owners, same i would say for the F1 car, you buy it, Ferrari keeps at factory the car and when it's time.. you drive it.
Alexander West I had the impression your lap was around 1:50.00 or something slightly better. From you upload data it seems you missed the Blancpain cars by a few weeks. Actually there's a fully legal/road registered car that can match their best hit laps.
and i did 1.49 last year in GTOpen. so pretty similar. the one track the FXXK and P1 GTR should be quicker than a GT3 car is on Monza, with the long straights. but also depends on the BOP for each championship
Alexander West Really great times! If you ever drop in again in Monza, please let me know! I live a few miles from the circuit. I should be able (I personally met him on the track) to manage you to drive "against" the guy (not a professional, a "gentleman driver") how timed (official Monza track timing) 1:47.852 (a GT3 LMP3 tests day beginning of march 2017) on the road registered car (have been passenger in another track day). He knows every inch of the track. You would have a proper rival finally and a lot of fun too!
Mostly no. A number of couples share a car, but in general there isn't enough driving time as is on the events. Especially if it is a racing day with Challenge
