The idea is to put it outside a small airplane and keep off while not needing to record to save battery, and turn on only when over the point of interest. And, this camera has a known problem with OVERHEATING - if it happens, will the remote inform it? And after it, in this situation, will I be able to wait it cool and record again? Or be able to turn off and on in this situation? Thanks!
Hi I have the insta360 1" lecia, I use it for Google Street View. Can you tell me if this device will have a better stronger signal GPS signal than a Android phone because sometimes I need to be 1 floor below ground, so to have a more powerful / sensertive device would be a huge benefit. For example mapping a underground car🚗 park, or 1 floor underground in a shop, I think a test would be interesting. Thanks in advance ☺️

May I ask after I work on my video file on my laptop under Media tab with editing and framing including the remote control stats like with speed, elevation, etc, how come when this same edited video file is transferred to Project, the stats is not showing? Do I need to export this file out from Media tab and then load it into Project to work further? Thank you in advance for your advice..
Does this remote have a flight mode? Like on the program on your phone - with a bird? So that you can pause the shooting and start from a different angle?
Is there a calibration test for the GPS remote? Mine shows stats delayed by a second or two and is about 10mph slow. Also I can't get stats to stay when exporting

What mic moto-vloggers use with an insta 360x3 that is waterproof and it’s easy to connect once you go back to the motorbike( meaning it will connect via Bluetooth directly without touching anything)?. Im a biker as well. What mic do you use that is waterproof? And i understand the camera only supports one Bluetooth, which in that case if the remote control is on you can’t record voice from the helmet

Hi Jann, where you able to post a video made with camera and this GPS to GSV Studio to create a blue line? Any video I take are refused by GSV Studio saying NO GPS DATA ! But if I use the same video into insta360 Studio I can easily overlay the gps data. Any suggestion for me? I bought mainly to do blue line in GSV. As GSV app will be no longer available after 21st March then we have only option is Export video from Insta360 App and then upload on Google Street View Studio. But When I try to upload video on Google Street View Studio which is Exported from Insta360 App, is shows an error that NO GPS DATA.

I have my camera mounted out on the wing of my airplane. I was hoping to use the remote from the cockpit while flying, ( to conserve battery on longer flights). The remote connects and works great while the aircraft is on the ground…..it always disconnects shortly after takeoff, and will not reconnect! Does this make sense? (The remote has a clear line of sight to the camera, and is only about 10 feet away).
If I swith off the camera first and the remote second I'm able to switch on the camera but it won't connect. I have to pair it again. On Reddit this sees to be a common problem.

I am testing the product with my X3 camera and to my surprise I find that the camera can be activated and start recording from the control when it is turned off. However, when we click the control again, the camera stops recording, but it does NOT turn off!!! This is very bad, since the camera keeps on and drains the battery. Is it so or am I wrong?
Hi Yuqing, did you try / test uploading video made with camera and GPS Smart Remote (no mobile phone !) to Google Street View Studio? I just bought X3 and GPS Smart Remote (new model) but any video, time-lapse or whatever I took are refused by GSV Studio saying NO GPS data. On Insta360 Studio I can easily overlay the GPS data. But GSV Studio say NO GPS. Not able to use it. Still waiting for an help from Insta360. Did someone succeed into uploading to GSV a video made with this gps? Thank for your help. Marco

Ich habe gestern die remote bekommen und versuche schon seitdem sie mit meiner insta360rs zu koppeln. Das funktioniert auch aber ausschalten geht noch. Wake up, Kamera geht an aber keine Verbindung stellt sich automatisch wieder her. Muss in Einstellungen und die reomte wieder koppeln. So ein Schrott! Nunwerde ich bei der Apple watch Bedienung bleiben denn der Service ist auch nur eine Katastrophe.
The smartphone uses, Wi-Fi and having the constant connection drains your battery a lot. Also, if you phone goes to sleep at anytime, the camera disconnects and reconnecting is slow and annoying. Sometimes it takes a couple tries
The remote is a piece of junk when used with the X3. The X3 crashes when it wakes on bluetooth via QuickCapture mode. Both remote and X3 at latest firmware. Complete waste of money.
Why don't you just put your phone on your selfie stick, it can do the same thing and show what the camera is recording at the same time, are you paid to do this

Don't buy this remote if you own a RS or R. So many problems concerning connecting fails over and over again. Not sure X2 and X3 owners experience the same problem.
DO NOT BUY if you own a one R. It is completely USELESS. It pairs fine and wakes up the camera and gets stuck at "awakening camera" after it wakes up the camera. Then it goes into "camera disconnected". Tried multiple solutions but nothing works. I regret buying the remote and have to control the camera manually. Amazing hardware and video quality let down by the USELESS remote.

Yes you can control multiple cameras following my tutorial.
Just a short comment....I have one and it works fine. I use it with the Telesin 9' 8" 2nd generation carbon fiber selfie stick. I would recommend it.

You need to start pre-recording from the MENU on X3 and start recording with Shutter Button or Remote Controller
The fac5 it works is a vast improvement on the previous one!

My remote starts video in 720p even when its says 5.7mp ??? Also, I have to repair it every time I want to use them together. (firmware up to date)
