I made a 360 mount you don’t have to hold. It’s the only mount that can be positioned anywhere within 3 feet of you, that you don’t have to hold, and you can make it for about $10 US.
One of the best accessory of Insta is Power Selfie Stick. It works well with both One X2 and X3. And you can control the camera when it reach the maximum high of the stick (around 120mm) beside it charges the camera at the same time. 4500mAh is enough for 4 hours shooting.
Cool ! Can you transfer directly to a latest gen phone videos from any SD card using the insta360 X4 USB quick reader ? Even if the videos come from the SD card of osmo pocket 3 for example ? (the app would not be needed there)
Another really good video. For a battery I prefer the ULANZI BG-2 6800mAh Power Bank Hand Grip. Since it can be used on the selfie and still be invisible too
I got a 360 x3 with sticky lens guard as a gift. I'd like to take it to the ocean with me, so I bought a dive case. When I tried the case, it cannot fit in the dive case because the lens guard is too high 😢😢😢 now im thinking of getting rid of the lens guard as i wanna make sure the camera is perfectly fine under water!
Awesome video, if you guys are budget conscious like I am, & always like to find the best, cheap alternative to things, then I can't recommend the Holyland M1 wireless mic set up any more! 💯👍 It was $71.00(US) for the mic, receiver, carrying case & all the proper plug ins, & is about 1/2 the size of the Rode Go, & honestly look up videos & reviews, you can't justify paying the extra money for the sound difference, if you can even hear 1.
The rode 1 is hard to get hold of as it’s old now so it’s good to have a cheaper alternative especially if it’s as good or better. I use hollyland video senders so I’m not sure if the mic is made by the same people. I’ll have to look into it, thanks for the comment.
usually it’s down to the brand - I always use sandisk extreme or extreme pro. Also try a different card, sometimes it could just be faulty. And you could try formatting it on your desktop computer first, sometimes this helps. Thanks for the comment
After charging your extra batteries, should you use the hub to store your batteries? will the batteries discharge if left in the hub that is not connected to power?
Thanks for thorough review on accessories. Do you know whether the dive case can be used whilst Lens Guards are on? Numerous emails to Insta360 cannot answer such simple question. I know X2 didnt fit in the dive case with lens guards on.
Really enjoy your videos. Another issue with the lens guards is you have to remove them if you want to use the dive case. The vulnerability of lenses are really the only down side to this camera for me. I'm looking forward to using this camera on my kayak trips and without lens protection I might as well toss the camera in the bin now judging by my GoPros. Would be nice if insta360 went with user replaceable lenses on the next version of this camera and I'll be first in line to buy it.
Changeable lenses would be great - Could you use the dive case on a kayak, that would give it the best protection. You’d have to avoid the base though and reframe around it. Or maybe a helmet mount with the x3 utility cage and mount it horizontally to reduce drag on the camera.
@@EatSleep360 Yes the dive case will work on the boat but I'm usually out in less than ideal weather so there is the fogging issue and when on land the guards would be better but its all a trade off. I honestly prefer the best video quality without any extra layers over the lens but one smack from the carbon paddle and the unprotected lens won't do well. Truth is no matter what camera we use there is always some tradeoff. Regardless the X3 is a really slick piece of kit and I have no regrets.
great video. have you tried transferring clips from the cd card to your phone with a generic sd card reader? the insta cost 80$ where as generic is 20$. wondering if it will work.
Hello! Great video! I wanted to ask about the quick release. I'm a skydiver and we're always worried of something catching on the camera, so we use "cutaway" mechanisms. Id love to tey the bushmab quick release. My question is, is it sturdy enough to withstand freefall? Thanks!
I can’t say for sure but I know that their products are really well engineered. They also have a small hole so you could put a small tether on the camera in case it did break. Maybe drop Gerald an email at bushman-panoramic. Thanks for the comment
I dont have the 3m selfiestick but I will. How is the flex if you put the 114cm selfiestick on top of the 3m one? With the x3? I have a habit of mounting selfisticks on monopods because the monopods are very stiff with no bends with the x3 mounted. This way i am at 2.5 meters but the thing is then a monster to carry…
Is there an accessory that creates the water line? For my GoPro there's a dome that I put on that pushes the water away from the lens and then you can get cool split shots with like 50% underwater and 50% above water. Is there an equivalent to this for The Insta360 3x you would recommend?
another question for the insta360 app. how do you trim multiple clips from one video on your phone? say i have 30 min video and want to trim and re-frame them into 3 short videos so i can import them into "story" to rearrange and complete the video. I can't get past trimming more than one clip, how do you save your changes? I really\ appreciate your help.
You have to export multiple versions one at a time and they will save to tour phones album - you can then re import them into the story editor. A bit of a faff but if you want to use the same clip in different ways it’s the only solution. In the desktop studio you can save different projects which helps a bit but the studio is so restricted in many other ways.
Can somebody PLEASE tell me what the bit is called that screws into the bottom of the 360 that then fits to the chest mount? Argh!!! And.. does the chest mount come with this bit? Or is it just MORE stuff you have to buy
@EatSleep360 I'm baffled that Insta360 would sell a product that doesn't even fit its camera?? And I looked everywhere for it to mention this and it never did.. man insta is starting to annoy me
Yes they do corrupt and I only use sandisk. I try to limit the damage by using smaller cards. You can get the gps remote for the selfie stick but it’s expensive just for that use.
@@EatSleep360 $80 is chump change and I think the GPS overlay is cool. I think the battery selfie stick would be to heave (just to have a start/stop on the stick). But hey, great info!!!!
You can use the Insta360 app on iOS. Yes the learning curve can be a bit steep if you have had no experience with keyframes but you pick it up quite quickly - just get it way in advance of going and practice. For a big trip shoot less and you will be more likely to edit it and the editing will be quicker. I’ve a few videos that you’ll find helpful on this channel.
I used the magnetic mount during the Thanksgiving holiday last week. I learned that the Tesla hood is non-magnetic, probably aluminum. The trunk and the sides stick very strongly, though. It would be interesting to find a chest mount that can also show your face, but that might be too long and awkward and not allowed on the rides.
I had the same with my Volvo which is a plastic hood but it was fine on the wing and roof. I did sneak a short selfie stick on one ride which was tethered on a wrist strap and that slightly higher position is much better - it was safe but not worth the risk of getting thrown out the park or dropping it.
You previously said the Telesin extended selfie stick was a good alternative to the 3m Insta one. Have you changed your mind? Your 26 Aug 21 clip. Cheers :)
It’s still a good alternative - the only issue with version 2 is that when the stick is closed it’s a bit loose so if you hold it upside down it falls out. The version 3 stick has a fixed GoPro finger mount on the end which could do with being smaller - I don’t know why they did this as ideally you want a 1/4” thread to make it as narrow as possible. But it from Amazon and then you can easily send it back if it’s not what you expected. Their sticks are soo much cheaper than instas. The friction design of instas stick is really convenient so if you can justify the extra money then I’d go for that.
Hi Rich, thanks for the cool Video. Im looking for a tripot for my mtb Videos, maybe you have any suggestions?! I need something where I can put my insta 360 selfie stick + my insta 360x3 on. Was thinking something like the Zeadio you mention in one of your videos but I'm not sure if that one will be stable enough to put them trackside in the woods where the terrain isn't flat. Hopefully you can give me some tips. Thanks
I do a lot of filming in the forest and the Zeadio isn’t stable enough. Ideally you want a large tripod like the best360 pro version or a tripod with slots in so you can peg it down for stability. You also want to use a counter weight. An alternative is to use a ground spike like the one from Bushman - this attaches to the selfie stick and just winds into the ground.
They give you different shots - On your head it’s a full 360 view of what’s around you but doesn’t give you any decent riding shots. On your chest it’s a pov of where you’re going but also includes the bike or your hands etc. So it depends what you need.
It helps prevent the monopod falling over so gives it more stability - helpful when it’s fully extended as the cameras weight could make it fall - also helps in wind and unstable ground. Should still be careful but it’s just an added layer of protection.
Not sure the lens hood is any use at all. I have the bundle that came with it and I never use it because the soft case the camera comes with protects the whole camera.
I use the lens hood so I can protect the lens but still go through the menu or playback shots. Everyone has their own preference. Thanks for the comment.
