  • The Allens of Georgia own and run a farm with an eclectic range of animals. Teamwork, respect and discipline are the key principles practiced in their daily lives. Scott and June expect their children to start the day with a good attitude and a commitment to their responsibilities. Scott's motto is "I can't make you happy, but I can make you miserable." For one week, the Allens take in visitors of a very different nature: two dysfunctional teenagers. Kelsey has a rebellious and angry disposition fueled by a painful past. Zach is a spoiled, defiant and sneaky young man whose mother fears he's on the road to self-destruction. Will a week of demanding farm chores and inescapable consequences be enough to turn them around?

He doesn't say disrespectful words it's his tone. I have him in counseling and we're working on it. But she doesn't know him or she would understand. She passes ne off so bad.

My 17 year old brother wouldn’t do chores. My folks told him to pull his weight or pay rent so they could hire someone else to do them (he had an after school job.)
    He refused.
The next day, when he got home from school, everything he owned was boxed up and sitting on the front porch and the door was locked.
    He decided to do chores.
And in case you’re wondering, yes, my mom and dad would TOTALLY have followed through.

      Hello!
Surprisingly, it almost always ends the same way in every episode. In the beginning, they're rebellious (...) and in the end, they hug the parents and are no longer rebellious. I don't know what to think about that 🤔😄 Did someone pay them? 😄 I don't think people can change easily. I don't think TEENAGERS can change so easily. However, I don't think it's impossible. It's possible to change but I think it really takes time and I guess it's rare. And when I see how rebellious they were at the beginning, it's quite hard for me to believe they really changed. I'm not naive. I don't believe in Santa Claus. It's pleasant to watch but it's hard for me to believe they really changed.

I think that if these parents send their kids away for issues, and they know their kids are going to be sent to work hard on their emotions, their work ethics and many other things, that the parents should also have to go through some counseling, parent classes or something else to also meet their kids in the middle. The parents are the problem. They create kids who are feeling unsure and when kids are unsure, they lash out, and act tough to cover up what is really going on. That is why the strict parents on these episodes work. They are tough in expectations, but they do it with love for their children and their families.

@@TG-fq6vy I don't think that it's so terrible. It's more that the teens were used to running the show, and needed to learn to share power rather than dominate their parents. I loved that Scott returned the mp3 player....but not for nothing. He taught both consequence and kindness in that simple action, and power sharing. He could have kept it, but his point wasn't to humiliate or disempower Zach; it was teaching him to share power. He'll never get anywhere useful in life without that lesson.
