  • Join me on an unforgettable journey to Volunteer Point in the Falkland Islands, a renowned haven for majestic King Penguins. In this episode, we'll explore the breathtaking beauty of Volunteer Point and the incredible experience of encountering these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Our trip to Volunteer Point wasn't smooth sailing, as weather conditions gave us a 50/50 chance of cancelling our trip to Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. The uncertainty weighed heavily on my mind, especially considering that I had paid over $1,000 in advance for the King Penguin tour, which involved a long 2-hour drive from the port.
The tour to Volunteer Point is the priciest one in the Falklands. There, you'll find colonies of Magellanic, Gentoo, and King Penguins. It's a place everyone looks forward to visiting. Rain or shine, I'm excited to be there.
Despite the challenges, we pushed through and reached Volunteer Point. Stepping onto the sandy shores, we were greeted with breathtaking views of untouched beaches. As we explored further, we were amazed by the sight of numerous King Penguins. Their majestic presence and playful behaviour made it an experience we'll never forget.

Awesome video. I loved it! How did you manage to keep your camera dry with all the rain? Thank you so much for sharing

Thanks for liking the video! I used a gopro for the wide angle shots (on the boat and off-road). I also used my camera gear in light rain, the gear is weather sealed so it's not a big deal if it's not raining heavily. However, I always wipe them down carefully after use and let them dry. Hope this helps :)
