Many people sleep on the 90d, especially since mirrorless cameras are now the “it” factor. But this is a great mid level camera with plenty of pro features. Usually people (including myself) who get this want it for the 4K feature and are still happy. It produces great pictures when paired with the sigma 18-35. I would definitely say it’s a worthy camera in 2021. Great video content.
I have the R5 and R6, but the 80D and now the 90D are still my absolute favorite cameras of all time. 95% of content creators will be 100% happy with the 90D. For most people looking for a great hybrid hobby camera or youtube camera, I'd suggest the 90D and Sigma 18-35 and a used 24-70 L USM I. Also the 24mm f/2.8 pancake lens for light weight and a smaller package!
Hi!! why do you prefer it over the R6? My 80d died and I have been using that one since 2016. I am thinking of upgrading to the R but also thinking of the 90D
@@AndresArosemena Hi Andres. If you are looking for a true hybrid camera, I like the 90D better due to its higher MP count for stills, cheaper body and lenses (can use both APS-C or full frame lenses), basically the same video specs if recording internally. The 90D having no crop in 4k makes it a compelling option vs. the R6, especially considering the price difference. I shoot 95% of my video with the R6 and 100% of stills with the R5, but I'd be 100% happy if I had stuck with the 90D. The ONLY real reason I see that to get the R6 is if you shoot a lot in low light OR you really want a little bit more bokeh in video. I do think the R6 is a better camera overall, but I don't thinks it's "double the price better" than the R6. Hope that helps.
@@MichaelPhelpsMedia Thanks for the reply. I sometimes shoot weddings at night or some other events at night and while the is noise in the 80D at 3200 ISO it is not something unusable I think. Maybe I'll stick to the 90D instead of the R. In another video a guy said the 90D is even better at low light than the R, don't understand how that could be possible. (the R, not the R6)

I've been using it for 2 years and its a great tool . The only " downside " is the pixel density in a Apsc sensor , noise comes pretty quickly and L lens is almost mandatory to resolve that. Apart from that its impressive what you can do with it. Clients are usually happy and actually won't know the difference btw it and a FF ( in good lighting situation )

As a newish user of the 90D myself, only drawbacks weight and after cost off a camera with kit lens, is EF glass.it can be costly. A 24-70 L can $1,800 to $2k used and new may be $200 less. depends. primes can be $800 ish or less. there are a few in the $200 or less range. if you have EF glass that will lower cost a lot. Youd have a great kit with a prime under 24mm a mid zoom 24-70mm and a 70-200mm with a step up, allowing the 200mm to hit 300-400mm..great for wildlife but those lenses are 2.5- 4X that of the cost of the body only, But a good investment
Great question, i have both and to be honest, they’re roughly the same. The 18-135 is much more fun because you do get that added telephoto zoom so i recommend that over the 18-55
