I've had this for four years; it started with my right eye, and now it includes my lip. Neurosurgeon will not operate, and I won't inject botox. Meanwhile, I worked at my job for seven years and applied for three promotions (a level up and not overreaching). My eye twitched in the interviews, and in the most recent one, it made me become embarrassed and my face and neck turned beat red. They turned me down; they said I could handle the stress. They gave it to someone I trained who started last month because that won't cause me stress.

This happens in the left corner of my lip whenever I am in an anxious situation (when people are just looking at me in the classroom). So it happens everyday in school. It’s so stressful and I get more embarrassed than I already was when my lip twitches. I hate anxiety so much
My right eye lid had been twitching bad for about a month. This morning my right cheek started twitching too! I researched and found out the trace mineral, Manganese helps it stop. You should eat more of your favorite Manganese rich food for starters. Mines is sweet potatoes.
Tbh I don't know what it actually is but suddenly I begin getting this urge to twitch one side of my face it's been like my habit at this point I don't have any control on my body this habit cause severe headaches too I'm trying to have control over myself
At the moment studies are making me so stressed, I only have 2 years left and I can't cope anymore. Of course I have lots of health problems that come with this stress. Insomnia, loss of apetite and now I have this damn spasm on my left forehead...
I am dealing with it since almost 20 years and from my point of experience it definitly has to do with emotions and behavior that tries to find a way out. Not letting my loud and excited inner child out or not allowing my self to be weak and sad creates inner stress, what heats the whole nervoussymstem up including the facial nervs. Also daily Stress at work or family arguments seem to influence the intensity of it. As well as cigarettes and television. And dear parents… please never ever give your child medicine against ADHD „syndrom“! It causes exactly these inner traumata that get saved in your cells, which causes spasms and ticks a lot of time. There are other ways!
I never had a problem with my facial muscles till I completed college. I am 27 now and from past 4-5 years I have been experiencing twitches around my lest side of the mouth and left cheeks while I try to smile. The facial muscle of that part tends to kinda freeze and it is very difficult to smile and then the twitches start. This happens when I meet people and talk with them. I am perfectly alright when I am speaking with a serious face, but then when I smile, the twitches start and I feel embarrassed and have to cover the smile or stop it completely. Please let me know what is the problem underlying. I am a hard working person with a healthy body. I like to socialize with people but this twitch is a hindrance.

Thanks a lot for commenting on this. I never had this problem either and people i knew including relatives took advantage of this nerve disorder. Success and toxic jealousy can really lead personal hateful people to using whatever they can against you to make you feel like the terrible person they want you to feel like. Has anyone here had their nerv disorder used against them to make false claims, such as you struggle to smile cuz you're a terrible person whilst the person making this claim has been mistreating you for years?
This has been scaring me for the past month. I usually have issues breathing sometimes and I’ll end up feeling my chin or eye twitch for a half second when stressed out or doing something as simple as moving my arm in a way that my body doesn’t agree with. It’s gotten really bad and so paranoid over every single move I make now. Very rarely the right side of my face will freeze up completely and tighten up. I thought that these were seizures and I got my MRI done.. there’s no evidence as to why I should be experiencing this but I am anyway! My doctor said that he thinks it might be tied to anxiety or just that but.. it’s been happening for around 2 months now, and it’s really scary. I realized that this was a thing and it sounds really similar in many ways! Though my main trigger seems to be movement, or whenever I try to move while my body is stressed or tense, my chin or right side of my face tenses up or twitches for a second and the back of my neck has been tight 24/7. It’s embarrassing! Because my family doesn’t believe in it, my dad thinks it’s me being dumb, and my girlfriend is annoyed because she also thinks it’s just anxiety.. it makes me so depressed because I got nobody to talk to 😢😢😢
I believe you. Such a strange sensation. My face started twitching today on the right side. I already know I'm at high risk for seizures. It only lasted for a couple minutes. I'm glad your scan came out OK. Hope it gets better. I'm sure mine is stress related.
