Thanks man. I’ve got a chainsaw with the easy start feature. Used to struggle to get it started cold. Great chainsaw but a pain to cold start. After checking your video, thought I’ll give it a try. Worked a charm this morning in the freezing cold. Thanks heaps. Greetings from Western Australia. 😀
2 new easy starts, days of a few strong guys ripping at it no go, just finished ripping into the seller. looked at this easy start youtube & both started within 3 pulls. thanks mate
Perfect. Just bought one of these. Thanks for the instruction. Glad I watched before starting.
Glad I could help!
How do I know if my MS 170 is soft start or compression release? Not mentioned in the paperwork or manuals though my dealer said it was when I specifically asked for a soft start at the time of sale?
Man, i gotta sub. You got the same taste in equipment I have. I JUST got the MS180C.
Awesome!
I should have read the manual 🤬😮 Greetings from Tasmania Australia 👍😁🇦🇺🦘
The manual would have been no help. Trust me. This guy should have written the manual.
But THEN you have to ask yourself, WHY is the manual on my new Stihl 212C 55 pages? Why is that ?
Yeah, I have one of these "Easy Start" Stihls. Easy? Anything but.
You don't find it easy to start?
I have several saws with and without easy start. I all drop start them. Never destroid a starter. But you're wright how you do it.
Step 1) to start any chainsaw is to set the brake.
For beginners it's a good idea, yes
You should just be able to do a series of short strokes and it'll build up tension and just let go on one of the strokes by its self and kick over
Cool, another fiddly spring to fly apart at the worst moment. My old 032 av starts easy enough.
Have you considered people with shoulder replacements? Some day it might be you.
@@MikeJones-rk1un When I can't start the 032, I'll learn spanish.
I have ms 180 with no essay starting sistem
There is the MS 180 and there is the MS180C. Perhaps the 180C is with the easy start.
SUPER ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I'm ready for an ez start...lol
Haha it really makes a difference
What is the position of the trigger at start?
So, the actual engine turn-over is right at the end of your easy pull? Some guys are saying on UA-cam that you pull the rope out all the way and let it slam back by itself, which seems crazy to me, and I've been sawing since 1968, I've been having some problems restarting my new 500i after letting the hot saw sit for a few minutes.
I've never let the cord slam back. That wouldn't do anything.
@@GettingItDoneRepairs Turns out that stuff about the cord was a put on. Shitty thing to to, I think. Anyway, you're right.
Prime it 8 more times
@@sendit1158 Only priming it 9 times works. More than that the rings are torn off the piston.
Yeah thats billshit gag video that gained popularity and now other people are making the same video adding chainsaw noise to the video. Releasing the rope doesnt create compression or spark.
What positions?
JUST DO IT.
Can a 4 foot 11 inch, 114 lb farm fit woman use this? Not just the start, but the size?
Yes it's not a big saw to handle. I think you would have no problem at all
Easily.
Easily
I’m 5’2”, 110lbs farm fit female and I have a 181c, which I think is pretty similar size. I can use bigger, but this one is easier on my arms and probably safer
I’m. 5’2 barely… and I can start mine it’s a similar MS 211
Thanks, and God bless you!
That's disgusting
@@idecidenotyou what is disgusting?
@@michaelboyle1983 that putrid "God bs"
PS doesn't seem any different from all the other 'normal saws' I have owned.
guess my does not have these easy pull. Not sure why they would not have that on all of them. Mine is new and it's everything I have to just pull the cord that at best might come out half way but usually not that for. So hard I really just don't use it has much has needed. Tales 4 or 5 tries to just get the cord coming out but by that time the gas is messed up. Should of went electric.
The easy start cost more but its well worth it. Ive had full replacement on both shoulders less than 2 years ago and can start my Stihl easily. :)
Believe me, I agree. I have two small Dewalt electrics that just WORK. Realized I needed something bigger, now fighting a new Stihl 212C that runs whenever it wants to. Should have stayed electric. $360.00 down the drain.
How do you know if your chainsaw is an easy start 🤨🤔
When it's easy 🤣
@@danbosman2246 🤣😂
When you break the spring inside and have to replace it from drop Starting it like me lol
JUST DO IT TALKY TALKER
🤦
Fucking witchcraft! I’m try that shit next time.
🤣
Well the ms391 is biggest piece of shit on the market.
I freaking hate them
@@ansonwill1999 why do you hate them?
@@GettingItDoneRepairs more to go wrong
@ansonwill1999 I see your point. It's like that with everything now days isn't it. I've been using my chainsaw several years now without issue. Fingers crossed
The drop and pull method is even used by professionals. Don't tell others how to use a chainsaw or any other small gas engines.
I was speaking to new chainsaw owners. But if you cut your leg, come back and tell us how it felt. Do whatever you want.
@@GettingItDoneRepairs My point is, never tell how to use a chainsaw, always recommend.
No thanks! You can keep your easy start.
6 years and works great. No problem here
@@GettingItDoneRepairs Great glad it works for you. I've used these saws, there a pretty decent little saw. But for me that easy start is something I can't get used to, especially when none of your other saws have it.
