Sounds surprisingly realistic, the sound character is very clear, but the note attacks are synthetic and the resonance at the end is strange to me. 0:58 Pianoteq 2 - The note attacks sound minimally better but the sound is slightly more reverberated, however the character is warmer. 1:52 Pianoteq 3 - The sound is more distant and slightly less warm. The note attacks are much less defined now. 2:46 Pianoteq 4 - Has a much more direct sound compared to the previous version. The note attacks are now much more pronounced, but remain soft. The strings sound slightly muted. Overall I like this one more than the previous versions. 3:40 Pianoteq 5 - Sounds very similar to Pianoteq 4 but has more harmonics and overtones, resulting in a clearer sound. This is the point where it becomes impossible for me to tell the difference between newer versions and this one. 4:35 Pianoteq 6 - I hear no difference. 5:29 Pianoteq 7 - I hear NO difference. 6:23 Pianoteq 8 - Finally, I hear something different! This sounds just a little clearer than 5 and 6, but the changes are minimal.
Nice demonstration. I wish the settings between versions were more comparable, especially the output. Modartt does binaural mixing so well that I was disappointed with the switch to stereo in the middle. I remember the change from version 5 to 6 being the nail in the coffin for just about every sample based piano. I just couldn't distinguish from a real piano after that.
