  • When you assume the posture of “win or learn” it takes losing off the table, a big part of this is the mindset you have. The desire to continually grow and looking for those opportunities has led me from bull riding to business. Let me share some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

I wish there was a way to give this video MANY thumbs up rather than just one! Your awesome hand skills are matched by your verbal ones. Thank you for sharing your life lessons!!!
In a long life I have had the opportunity to learn pretty much all of the lessons you addressed, and your ability to project those lessons learned in the progress of your rodeo career to the progress of your business was dead on the mark. I'm starting a leathercraft/knifemaker business at 83 with my grandson, trying to pass on not only my skills but that hard-won knowledge you addressed. One of my many "careers" was tournament angling, and several of the lessons you learned about time & funds management where travel was involved are ones I, too, had to figure out. Thanks for showing me how to relate that to my grandson in a way meaningful to our business.
As always, your ART is amazing and I am awed watching your hands turn a dead, flat piece of leather into living beauty!

When I worked in a Hospital, every time a Pickup pulled up to the ER it was a bull rider in the back that didn't want to pay for a ambulance.

How did you come up with the idea of making rodeo pictures into scroll work? And how did you go about designing these patterns? I've seen pictures of the pieces you've done and I'm stunned at the you you've incorporated the craft into these designs

Hey Joe, I’ve been on the leather life for a few years already, but recently I didn’t have trouble, the last 34 months I have not got any classes.

We’re on a new platform that we switched to at the beginning of March. Anyone with a current subscription at the end of February received access to all of the old projects and were not charged anymore.
Here is a link to the new classroom if you’d like to join us there:
