For those like me: 9:00 - Bibles 12:12 - prayer Bible 13:45 - prayer color codes 17:25 - reading Bible 21:35 - beginning of detailed description of color codes Long, but friendly-feeling to watch. This video was recommended in a group I follow in Facebook, and I'm glad I saw it.
I needed this today. I went to bed last night with an actual headache after watching a bunch of commentary/theology videos (and I have an MA in theology!) Just so much overload on social media! We all need to be told sometimes to leave the controversies and argumentations behind and go back to scripture!! Thanks!!!!!
Great video. Thanks for sharing! So awesome you took the time to explain all your different colors and your thoughts on them. Super helpful and encouraging.
Have not seen the first video yet .. but your speaking to me... I am watching this video by chance . Just marking for the very first time in my beloved Shyler Quintel Personal just last night ...
This was awesome! I love exploring keys. With study bibles I try to keep all the colors coordinated to the study bible’s connections. I have one bible where each book has its own key since there’s different outlines, styles, and messages through out. Good to know the sharpie highlighter in my Ryrie will fade. It’s been 2 years and Isaiah still has me cringing with prophecy color shouts.
Thank you for actually showing how you highlight without bleed through. Maybe I'm just extra dense but I always got the bleed through from the pool of highlighter fluid at the end of the stroke... now I don't have that problem anymore! Thanks again!
SA Tabernacle With David Lee Brown yeah I kept taking screen shots to be able to see it. But I bet folks would love to have a PDF of it. I’m sure you’ll get tons of views on this video!
I really enjoyed this update, Dave. I've been using colored pencils, and especially Prismacolor pencils. But I think I'll pick up some highlighters. They would be fast and easy. I did want to say that I don't like using the Micron pens anymore. I tend to press down hard and keep smushing them to an early death. My favorite pen now for my Bibles is the Pilot P-500 extra fine. They are absolutely perfect for my thin Bible pages. (Although I have no idea how archival they are.) But I dearly love them. Anyhoo, thanks for another fun video!
I've neglected the word severely in the last 6 years of having become a Christian. Last year or maybe even two years, you prayed for an ignited passion in the word and I'd like to testify that the prayer you prayed is coming to fruition. But I have a question. What would your advice be to somebody who has heard loads of sermons on scripture and has not ever had a connection to the Word found for themselves? What ... Method... Should I apply to reading scripture for understanding it: so I don't have to still rely on others interpretation? If the answer is simple time and patience with the HS. I'm committed to that. I just would like to know if I'm going in handicapping myself.
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing. I'd say the biggest things are learning to quiet your mind, and talk to God while you read--even if it's just small talk. Root you conversation with Him on His Word, and you'll be amazed at what will happen. Also, my older videos address this under the playlist 'Restoring Delight In The Word.' Just, pardon my weirdness in front of the camera, lol. ua-cam.com/video/70kaKHTCymg/v-deo.html
Hello Sir, I love this long video. Can you send me the keys you talked about for starting a prayer Bible and one for studying along with cuddling. I am a Bishopr and always looking for ways to improve my studying and closeness with the Lord. I also would like to talk to you about the structure of your church services that you make mention of in this video
If this kind of marking is possible with 32gsm, then I'm confident about the CSB verse-by-verse that I've ordered. It's 36gsm. I'm gonna try a couple of different markers on the last pages though, to see how much ghosting is there. I like the bright colors and a little bit of ghosting is okay. But I don't want to be confused if the other side seems to be highlighted as well. It would be like: Hey.. did I highlight this? Oh no, it's the marking on the other side of the page.
It costed 252 dollars to get the perfect bible for studying I got me a Cambridge KJV concord wide margin Black Goatskin and my Highlighter is A 20 Pack Mr. Pen for bible studying and a Micron 005 of 5 pen in 1 pack.
Almost thou persuadest me to become a Bible highlighter! Well, actually you did so I will order some highlighters and adopt your system. Thanks for a great instructional and thoughtful lesson. By the way, I believe your Credo does in fact have a concordance. I have a Schuyler Credo in the KJV and I agree with you -- it's the One!
And many there are who go thus far: ever since the Christian religion was in the world, there have been many in every age and nation who were almost persuaded to be Highlighters. But seeing it avails nothing before God to go only thus far, it highly imports us to consider, First. What is implied in being almost, Secondly. What in being altogether, a Highlighter. 😂😂🙌🙌 -Blessings Don, thanks for one of the greatest comments ever in the history of the internet.
David, I love your method of highlighting your Bible, so I proceeded to use the same method but I am confused with the Covenant being pink and Priesthood being orange because Hebrews has them all interwoven!!! HELP please!!
I don’t object to people marking in there Bible but for me I like to use a separate notebook , also I feel my Bible is Holy so I want keep it separate from notes
Hi David, could you please post the link to the "Liturgy of the Melchizedek Priesthood Order" series that you mentioned at 14:57? I'd like to work through it if it's still available. Thanks Amy
For sure. Dave this may have been asked before but i would like to ask this question. It would be great benefit to me. I have adopted a very similar system. Something i have worked out myself for a long time... but as a pastor sometimes i wonder if i should mark up my preaching bible differently. Do you mark up your preaching bible differently for the purposes of preaching? I try to watch i don't think you do but wanted to ask. Thanks!

What group is it?
Thank you!!
I like the see -through Sharpies
I have found that the Crayola Twistable pencils do an excellent job when highlighting and you can erase it if you highlight something by mistake.
I use those as well!
Thank you! Your encouragement to be rooted in the word is so genuine. Thank you!

What’s wrong with the KJV that you won’t read it like the others? Why only a audio version?

David, I'm still looking for your mother's purple Bibles. Could you post the links? Please?
they're all from evangelicalbible.com
Mildliners are an option for the non bold people out there. 🤘🏻
My Wife uses them in her journals. They do have some cool colors.
What is the sa tabernacle mean Jw
Oh gosh no. No JW. It's for San Antonio Tabernacle House of Prayer -- our ministry.
What is a cuddle Bible?
It's a term I use for a Bible I want to relax in instead of laborious study.
Wish i had a bible

-they’re easy to get ahold of, so if you need help. I’ll see if there’s a ministry close by who can get you one.
