In all fairness, dragon wings would still be a references to the Transylvania stereotypes. Dracula means “Son of Dracul,” or more literally, “Son of the Dragon.”

@@rdsasuke1 honestly I talked to a friend about a topic similar to this.... tl;dr in the end. Viego is an undead person, a shadow of who he was, ruined by grief plus the magic waters of the blessed isles and his sword... wraiths have their worst traits/obsessions exponentially pumped, not only canonically in runeterra (as seen in most of blessed isles champions as well as Pyke), but also in the folklore of multiple cultures from our own world. So, yeah, Viego is doing some crazy shit and is trying to forcefully subdue a world that doesn't belong to him because he thinks it's right........ in his crazed, obsessed, grieving undead man head. Meanwhile, Noxus has 3 (Arguably) sane and conscious people assembling legions and armies to trample nations who want none of their violent expansionist bullshit that solely thrives because they think Being Strong Enough to Trample and Eat Kingdoms In Union is Good Because After That we Will See the Strong Survivors as Suitable to become our Equals, Regardless of Whether or Not their Previous Rulers were Bad. I also have a theory that perhaps Viego wasn't as much of a spoiled baby as Riot is trying to make us think he is. The fact his brother was killed, as well as Isolde, forcing a person who was never raised/prepared/meant to become king into a power he seemingly never asked to have makes me feel like there was a bigger power play in Camavor than meets the eye. Necritos apparently wrote that in post Viego era, and history is written by the winners, so ofc Viego would be written as nothing but a crybaby by someone who saw (with help of some propaganda) what the kingdom became in the hands of a more capable ruler, who enjoyed being in power and studied what kings should do. Vlad wasn't the heir either and wound up sold to Darkins, so I'm guessing Viego was also neglected and seen as equally disposable by his family since he wouldnt be first in line wasn't for the fate that met his brother... I think the only thing Viego required to push through a life he despised was the right to be with his beloved.... who was brutally taken from him right before his eyes when his annoying ass life finally took a turn for the best. Idk about y'all but I got ptsd from a part-time job and losing a pet is enough to mess me up. I think I woulda gone as crazy in his shoes too... maybe not murderous-wraith-crazy but probably stuck-in-grief-crazy as he's shown to be in the Sentinels comic. TL:DR: Viego bad? Yeah, but he's bad because he's out of his dang mind. Noxus is much worse imo because they're consciously hurting others for not sharing their beliefs. I also think Viego's brother and Isolde as well as Viego himself could have been victims of a bigger power play/coup taking place in Camavor that is being kept out of our eyes for now. Edit: typos.
@@rdsasuke1 You know Darth Vader ? He killed thousands of people and still got the Redemption arc. They actually Share a lot of things. Both lost the Love of there lifes. Now that we know the ability of Arkshan's grappling, I really think that Arkshan will kill Isolde after she will be resurected. Since the last personn she killed was Viego, killing her will resurect him, and so will put an end to the Black Mist
I think Shyvana is supposed to be there. The sentinels story shows they locked her back up but this means she was still ruined. The card shows Virgo exiting demacia, not invading, so this is him leaving with the people he claimed..
i think necrit didnt notice (or didnt care xD) that the ruined reckoner is a female minotaur, but a not a skinny one like thorn of the rose , this looks like a great female minotaur to me
either thorn of the rose was so heavily backlashed that they changed it or a good in lore reason i found is that since the black rose is all about being secretive, she was just born skinnier and was able to help in covert missions
@@averonisgaming9023 One of the Retired Reckoner's voicelines towards the Thorn of the Rose was how she is twisted beyond recognition. Perhaps the Thorn did change her body into an attractive, skinnier one to conform to Noxian high class customs which also helps with espionage and the Reckoner criticized her for choosing to look like it. Not only did she throw away her minotaurhood but also chose to be that way and be associated with Noxus which he hates.

I think many people here are making a mistake in what Necrit is saying about Isolde, he IS NOT saing that Isolde never loved Viego just that she may not have been absolutely massively OBSESSED like Viego was.
Viego is confirmed League Dracula, Dracula himself earned the nick name "The Dragon", He even has parallels to Castlevania dracula even though both (at least for one of them) was used as a reference
Wasn't Vlad Dracul II known as the dragon, while his son became known as the impaler (and became the inspiration for Dracula)? Or was there some actual (non-RL) Dracula stuff I forgot?
@@yvanthepcgamer7993 No, And I can prove this, The only similarities Dracula and Vlad share is that they run off of blood, However if we talk about Castlevania's Dracula the parallels are in your face it hurts, Dracula lost Elizabeth and set his wrath on the village where his wife was burned to the steak, Viego sent the mist through runterra in search of his wife's missing pieces while also setting his wrath wherever he goes, The thing that really kept dracula alive through the whole series was Chaos itself, What keeps Viego running is the mist itself so if we run the timeline what happened to Elizabeth, Although it might be different obviously what happened to Isolde (not burned at the steak) but assassinated or worse, it's just a theory on her behalf and how everything would go from then onwards and let's not get started about the parallels between Lucian, Senna, Saifa and Trevor, although the events themselves are not the same the parallels are indeed there
@@ChrisPhelior The dragon was a second name he earned when he became a member of the order of the dragon, I could make the connection that the iron legion is probably a reference to Vlad's army.
im calling it now, necritos sailed away from camavor and ended up in valoran and managed to join the sentinels of light since they could use his vauable knowledge
I think riot it keeping the possibility open that there are many more lands on the part of the globe that we can’t see, for future map and lore expansions, so odds are the seas at bilgewater don’t connect straight to the seas of demacia. Even viego’s kingdom is uncharted to the viewer off somewhere to the east of the map we have
I think the quotes of Necritos implies that what Viego really wants, is just to be loved. He loves Isolde so much, but we never seen from her point of view if she loved him back just as much. When someone in a relationship gives you overwhelming love, it's hard to give back the same amount. Even worse sometimes, the person giving so much, wishes to get that much back and can pressure his/her partner. That's maybe the reason why he wants to ressurect Isolde so much, because Viego wants to be loved.
I think it would be so cool to have a game of thrones style show about runterra where there’s stories with a different characters going on all over the place and they all work together to make up a bigger world
I really hope leblanc realizes the threat of the black mist and hailmarie's mordekaiser into the realm of the living as a final last effort. Rly wanna see him chad stride into the shadow isles and show viego who's boss.
I really hope Necritos makes an appearance in the card game. He could be a Camavor scholar that lives in modern day Camavor or he could be a ghost created with the black mist.
Can't wait for mordekaiser to come and get viego under his eternal ruling. Beat him down to assert dominance and then teach him the true powers of the death realm.
he was a nice guy, his people loved him but not the nobles just imagine some time after your wedding your wife dies in your arms from poison, knowing full well that the blade that cut her was ment for you, to top it off everybody around is just "you have to be a good ruler, suck it up"(with less than 25 years btw), honestly i dont blame him for snaping on everyone, also when you get to see your queen again she goes mad and stabs you in the chest, then you go for 1000 years cursed with nothing else to do other than reliving everything in your head over and over and over again. nobody can be good after all that, heck viego even is to nice, everything could be 10 times worse if he really wanted it to be, he just wants his wife.
I wonder about the mist in Noxus. Doesn't the mist set Mordekaiser free or unleashing him onto runeterra once more. It would be really cool though if riot has Noxus's fall cinematic featuring the return of Mordekaiser but I don't think Mord would want to be Viego lackey he might want go on his own.
If most creations are imbued with the essence of the person who crafted them, couldn’t Gwen tell the sentinels about the true nature of Isolde and Viego’s marriage? She does carry with her pieces of Isolde’s essence after all
To your last point, what if that is shyvannas mother? Isn't shyvanna an orphan who appeared in demacia? Maybe she's from viego's homeland as well, due to dragons? And so maybe she was someone involved with viego's army which hasn't been revealed yet? I hope there's more dragon hybrids, that would be super interesting!
Oh by the by. Not sure if anyone went over this yet, but I wonder if the black mist is spreading so far so easily because of a certain type of Yorlde magic. Thought of this after seeing a certain Yordle and hearing about their certain mission.
I'm really interested to see how this event will end, because if it ends with Viego's demise then I'm pretty sure he will be the first champion to canonically die and never come back.
I wonder what will happens when Viego meets Mordkaiser (I wonder if mord will lock viego in his death realm until viego give ups his power to him or absorbs Viego's soul)

Viego kinda threatens the entire runeterra. Watchers want to wipe out entire universe, every single atom in existence. Viego is Ultron, Watchers are Thanos.

@@andreipig9517 That of Morde is still a mystery, but I still don't think it is as threating as the watchers
The Completion of the Five Darkins is quite an event too
I feel bad for Beryn, The Retired Reckoner. He just wants to live a quiet life.
Viego has at least 3 dragons under his control now.
3 and a half :D
I feel like the more necrit says isolde didn't love viego the more likely it becomes that riot will go with that, I really hope it isn't the case haha why can't she have loved him and just hate what he became rather than being a demsel for a thousand years
honestly it would suck if isolde didnt love him back like all these years we've known that the ruined king was someone who caused the ruination because of losing his wife. It would ruin his theme of the tragic lover if he was just another abuser to add to the list
not necesarily an abuser, if they go this way they could say that isolde was in love with another man in the village, but as the soon to be king met her, she was, without Viego threatining her, to say yes to a marriage. yes, it may be a kind of abuse, but not because viego wants to hurt her, as necrit says, he maybe shows a lot of love and maybe isolde just doesnt wanted it.
@@raulbrenes778 for his story to work she has to love him back or he did all of this for nothing. A better idea would be Isolde did love him but she could see that he was a shitty king and would push him to do better for his country because she knows what it's like to live as a peasant. But because he only wanted to be with her and not rule she died which makes it double his fault for not listening to her.
Honestly ,they already have a good thing going on, hope they don't screw up. Viego already received some hate from fans who expected Viego to be "big bad overlord", making him an abusive boyfriend would remove any of his redeeming qualities.
My theory about the swap bot is the hex core was corrupted because it’s alive
that would mean all the hexteck gems would be corrupted as well as they are all the souls of the dead brankern os in away this could be the way skarner could get his revenge on piltover
@@zileantimekeeper7464 True, but the swap bot could just be using a synthetic hex crystal, which DOES NOT contain the souls of the Brackern. The Harrowing would only corrupt the magic inside it.

Dracula means Dragon, so as i thought, Viego was definitely inspired by Dracula
The name Dracula comes from the historic figure Vlad Tepes the Impaler or some times refered to as Vlad Dracula/Dracul which is actually the direct inspiration for Vladimir, Viego's uncle, Viego is inspired himself mostly by the Tristan books since even his wife's name is taken directly from there, Isolde.
@@cosmichaze1482 Ye ye
The historian was such a likable character they made him in real life.
In all fairness, dragon wings would still be a references to the Transylvania stereotypes. Dracula means “Son of Dracul,” or more literally, “Son of the Dragon.”
I kinda hope, that Isolde loves him and Viego gets an Redemption Arc, where he trys to stop what he have done. I dont want that he is Pure evil and just a greedy little baby, which crys when he dont get what he wants. I mean he said about Himself that he died when isolde died and the ruined king was born after that. So maybe She killed Viego cause she knew that its not him Anymore. That would also Explain why she dont want back to him.
I'd say for all the horrible things he has done, Viego is way past the point of redemption.
And both searched for powers to keep there loved ones alive and both failed. Viego is actually the Darth Vader of League of Legends.
The novel, the comics, the cinematics and the skin bios
Looks like Riot is embracing my teammates spirit, no teamwork
Yeah, they really need to get it together. Another reason why I don't take the lore too seriously.
Now that we know the ability of Arkshan's grappling, I really think that Arkshan will kill Isolde after she will be resurected. Since the last personn she killed was Viego, killing her will resurect him, and so will put an end to the Black Mist
Congratulations Necritos of Camavor!
I think Shyvana is supposed to be there. The sentinels story shows they locked her back up but this means she was still ruined. The card shows Virgo exiting demacia, not invading, so this is him leaving with the people he claimed..
Ruined cards: reveal epic and important information about the mist and Camavor
Akshan cards: Yoink!
Unless of course, Viego went to pick up Shyvana for any other places that he might need her at.
i think necrit didnt notice (or didnt care xD) that the ruined reckoner is a female minotaur, but a not a skinny one like thorn of the rose , this looks like a great female minotaur to me
either thorn of the rose was so heavily backlashed that they changed it or a good in lore reason i found is that since the black rose is all about being secretive, she was just born skinnier and was able to help in covert missions
Man I wonder what if Ornn were ruined and the reason could be that Viego promised him the resurection of his belivers. I would love that sooo much.
Yay card lore
New Champion Teaser: Necritos, The Historian of Camavor.
Came to this video to confirm that necrit became canon twice after Pentakill concert
Heres something thats inconsistent with the event itself. LIGHT SENTINEL PYKE
9:28 in the card interaction this card is revealed to be a camavorizn creature
Necritos would have a great story in lore, where he escapes the kingdom of Camavor before it gets corrupted, goes on to become a light sentinel and then move to piltover to create the new cereal brand “NecritOs”
I wonder what mordekaiser thinks about this, viego is stealing the souls in his underworld for himself
U re wrong
They're in a state of undeath so they aren't really dead in wraith or ruined form
necrit is a character from lore now so he should do a theory on his own back story even though we just saw him once
The Camavoran Dragon kinda looks like a leviathan from subnautica
It is a amphitere
Maokai: I made this
Viego: ...

Necrit, I really love that you give us so much content right now. But pls watch you're health! There's so much work and quality in you're videos and i think i speak for all if i say that you also need to have time to lean back and relax. That aside... Noice Video like always! ^^
*meanwhile mordekaiser in the death realm*
*"Nothing but a pale little imitation of my incoming invasion of the living"* - Mordekaiser probably
2:07 that monster is a ruined version of the dragon who has a card “fused firebrand”
I think many people here are making a mistake in what Necrit is saying about Isolde, he IS NOT saing that Isolde never loved Viego just that she may not have been absolutely massively OBSESSED like Viego was.
so when its wrapped up are you going to cover the visual novel? i really want to know the story but honestly don't have the patience
I love how riot has made Necrit a character in the lore, such a cool thing to do lol.
Viego is confirmed League Dracula, Dracula himself earned the nick name "The Dragon", He even has parallels to Castlevania dracula even though both (at least for one of them) was used as a reference
Nah, Vladimir is League's Dracula
What I like about ruined Reckoner is that we got a female Minotaur that isn't mostly a human

Are Necritos and Necrit the Sentinel of Light the same person?
im calling it now, necritos sailed away from camavor and ended up in valoran and managed to join the sentinels of light since they could use his vauable knowledge
I just got to the part in the story with Vex, they are adorable can't wait to see you cover them
8:50 Whaiiit, isn't Rounterra a round planet. That means the Black Mist could come from west of Demacia. RIGHT???
but it would be a much longer travel than just going through bilgewater
Ye our maps also doesnt show all big pacific ocean, yet if you use globe, you can see at least half of it is just covered with blue.
I think riot it keeping the possibility open that there are many more lands on the part of the globe that we can’t see, for future map and lore expansions, so odds are the seas at bilgewater don’t connect straight to the seas of demacia. Even viego’s kingdom is uncharted to the viewer off somewhere to the east of the map we have
All hail Nunyo Necritos the Lorekeeper!
now we need a card with Necritos aggressively writing events in the background
no joke we need these creatures in league, as a champion or in the jungle, or maybe an event
"uncoorupted""booried""coorupted""flame the two""call-tivate"
Rammus snacking on bugs sounds fun.
The soldier behind viego in the non leveled art looks like thresh's card skin
I think the quotes of Necritos implies that what Viego really wants, is just to be loved. He loves Isolde so much, but we never seen from her point of view if she loved him back just as much.
When someone in a relationship gives you overwhelming love, it's hard to give back the same amount. Even worse sometimes, the person giving so much, wishes to get that much back and can pressure his/her partner.
That's maybe the reason why he wants to ressurect Isolde so much, because Viego wants to be loved.
If Isolde never actually loved Viego this event was a waste of time
Just another lackluster story between the many others in league
Shut
I bet you already know from the story that the mirror they found from the mageseekers compound was the faded memories card
I mean its not wierd black mist can posses robots.
We know their power source which is hextech crystal.
And ya remember what hides inside them?
I think it would be so cool to have a game of thrones style show about runterra where there’s stories with a different characters going on all over the place and they all work together to make up a bigger world
I think its the dead souls inside the hextech that the mist was able to control.
Makes me wonder what happened to those void born creature during the ruination
the voice lines for the cards are amazing too !
He's not a vampire... he's a HEMOMANCER
Viego targaryen first of his name, the lovestruck prince, the ruined king, bringer of the mist
I really hope leblanc realizes the threat of the black mist and hailmarie's mordekaiser into the realm of the living as a final last effort. Rly wanna see him chad stride into the shadow isles and show viego who's boss.
you should have like a shadow isles-ey outro during this event
necrit i love your LoR lore vids you should do them even if theyre not that popular (you can wait a few expansions n do em all at once too)
I mean at this point it's really, REALLY possible that Isolde hired the assasin. Riot wants to make Viego's unlife even worse.
I really hope Necritos makes an appearance in the card game. He could be a Camavor scholar that lives in modern day Camavor or he could be a ghost created with the black mist.
I want to see a corrupted version of orianna !.
Can't wait for mordekaiser to come and get viego under his eternal ruling.
Beat him down to assert dominance and then teach him the true powers of the death realm.
Anyone think about how this whole harrowing situation is going to make Demacians EVEN MORE hateful of magic users?
i would like it more if Viego was genuinely a nice guy, but just bad as a king
he was a nice guy, his people loved him but not the nobles
just imagine some time after your wedding your wife dies in your arms from poison, knowing full well that the blade that cut her was ment for you, to top it off everybody around is just "you have to be a good ruler, suck it up"(with less than 25 years btw), honestly i dont blame him for snaping on everyone, also when you get to see your queen again she goes mad and stabs you in the chest, then you go for 1000 years cursed with nothing else to do other than reliving everything in your head over and over and over again.
nobody can be good after all that, heck viego even is to nice, everything could be 10 times worse if he really wanted it to be, he just wants his wife.
@@nezothgarone2319 i was more referring to what Necritos was saying about him just being mad that he didnt get what he wanted
Perhaps Isolde hired the assassin for Viego to get out of the relationship
Imagine if Necritos appears in the League MMO. That'd be so sick
You are telling me necrit is cannon? what a time to be alive
Someone probably asked this but what would happen if the Void and the Mist came into conflict.
Necri is secretly a void spy change my mind or he can just be a low level esteregg
I think tb skyens video sums up how viego and isoldes relationship could work
2:25 could it not just be a prove that no matter how much a person turns into a robot they will still keep their soul?
If most creations are imbued with the essence of the person who crafted them, couldn’t Gwen tell the sentinels about the true nature of Isolde and Viego’s marriage? She does carry with her pieces of Isolde’s essence after all
Necrit: Every Region got a Ruined card, with the exception of Shurima
Also Necrit: *Talkes about Thrumming Swarm first*
To your last point, what if that is shyvannas mother?
I wonder what will happens when Viego meets Mordkaiser (I wonder if mord will lock viego in his death realm until viego give ups his power to him or absorbs Viego's soul)
when a region thats not even on the map gets more cards than the void
I believe disparity is part of Vex doing
Congrats on becoming Cannon
