Only 3 players have ever changed the game: Joe Davis - Invented the modern way we all play Steve Davis - Technique and practice Stephen Hendry - Aggressive one frame visits Everyone else has copied these 4 players - Many have improved and played better than those before them, but have not changed the way the game is played
I actually think Steve Davis was THE most influential on the modern game. He was what i would call the first modern player. U can see he influenced players that came after him like Hendry, Parrott, John Higgins, Sean Murphy etc. He also set new standards of professionalism and dedication
Ok the most influential players ever in order are - Jo Davis, Ray Reardon, Alex Higgins, Steve Davis, Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, The Class of '92 and Mark Selby.
i want to see Steve Davis vs Mike Tyson in a boxing match. Naturally tyson would knock him out with one punch and savis would be counted out but then a rematch where tyson faces davis in a snooker match.
Steve Davis really is my Hero since growing up in the 80s
Steve is definitely one of the best players ever.
Agree 💯
Thanks for this upload love watching steve davis.
He raised the standard of the game by a huge margin aa well as vastly improving the level of professionalism
Snooker Legend.
Changed the game for those to follow
The main man for a good 10 years
He almost played my dad, the winner went on to play Steve, and my dad lost in the final.
Steve 'interesting' Davis there...did you know he wrote a chess book with chess Grand Master David Norwood? Interesting isn't it...
1984.

Alex Higgins. Pioneered lots of shots.
Sorry but Ronnie o'sullivan is on the list

4 players or 3?
Hi @simonwilson will you be uploading new snooker videos on your channel ?

Have you chosen to ignore Rionnie?
Well third or fourth isnt bad for a global sport
He was the greatest till surpassed. He massively raised the standatd of the game
oh shut up
Rodney trotter Davis!
Then Ronnie came along and blew Hendry away
Not in the 90's.
Different era 😂 he admits Stephen made him better

I doubt if Davis could ever play again after being hit by iron Mike..
🦧🦧🦧
Then little Stephen Hendry Came along and blew you away! 🏴
It took him quite a few years to do it though. Not like your exagerated comment.
No he never at first, Steve raised the game for those to follow, give him respect. Coming from a fellow Scot
Hendry was always better than Sullivan 😅
🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That comment, makes absolutely no sense.
@@gaskellr44 correct. Ossulivan is the greatest player in history ✌️
@@rfurdaylee On average, yes, but not always like that other person commented. Hendry hammered him many a time.
