Dennis has to be one of the most likeable people ive ever seen in any walk of life. Just a really great guy
Ive met him briefly a couple of times and he's a real gent!
An absolute gentleman
Couldn’t agree more. Great post 👍
Fact’s always thought that from when I was a kid! You articulated it perfectly!
Couldn’t agree more either.
Dennis is a national treasure. Such a nice guy.
Never met him, but he does come across as a very nice bloke. Pleased Higgins didn't have him shot after all! 😀
National? He’s global treasure!
Wel claim Dennis as irish
Not British
@@crotta2011 A gent like Dennis Taylor is not interested in such sectarian nonsense. Shameful comment.
He should stop telling them corny jokes
As an American of 35 years, playing 8 ball pool in clubs since I was maybe 5 with my father, only discovering the game of snooker along with these snooker legends possibly 10 years ago? I can easily say this channel is just a pure delight. Can’t believe This is available free of charge on UA-cam! Thank you, Steven!
Been there every year since 1977 is impressive. One of the best commentators.
Hendry shows such a humble and passionate interest in everyone he interviews. Incredible considering he was amongst the greatest players
Hi Stephen. Showed this to Ray Reardon today. He chuckled at the him and Bill Werbeniuk morning session story. Also when Dennis said about ray didn’t make a lot of 100 breaks but loads of one frame visit breaks. He said he felt he didn’t want to wear himself out and that he said he’d have an 80 and his opponent can have the other 20 😂. He remembers the match where Dennis said ray played some of the best snooker he’s seen. Said he only missed like 2 pots the whole tournament. What a character he is. And still playing at 90. Helped me for Q school this year. Wealth of knowledge about the game. So many great story’s
What a lovely man. Dennis is. Didn't get much sleep in 1985. But was a experience I'll never forget. Dennis Taylor. World champion. Can never take that away from him .🏆👍
USA guy who fell in love with snooker 15 years ago! These series are a treat. Thank you Mr Hendry!
Glad to have you with us!
Not only a true legend but What a rich piece of history!! Stories about playing with Alex in the early days?! Knowing Fred Davis?! 😱 All the barn-storming stories about an almost lost era .. 😮 😢 Times with Reardon!? WOWOWOW these elder-sportsmen should be HONOURED & RESPECTED by the young players for what they pioneered in the sport!! 🫡
Thanks again for taking the time to showcase this true gentleman & ambassador 💪👌😊
I did not realize Dennis has been at the Cruicble in some capacity every year it has hosted the World Championship. Definitely has made a big contribution to the game of snooker.
Absolutely love these frames and chats Stephen. Dennis is such a nice guy and shows he can still pot a decent ball 😊
Queen now Ronnies bitch 😂
This channel is outstanding. Each week another great exchange and listening to Dennis Taylor was cool. Thank you Stephen.
I have to agree!
These are better than anything on tv.
aye , i always look forward to the new content. Its the best thing on youtube imo.
TV ? What's TV ?😅
Could listen to the old legends all day
I could listen to Dennis talk about snooker history for hours. He’s got so many tales and he’s a great storyteller, I’d like to see him on again, or maybe do a proper podcast.
Stephen and Dennis finally made it back to the one-table setup at the Crucible :)
It's been a while but worth the wait
I can listen to this man for hours!
Dennis was a big part of the "Resurgence Of The Irish", his win in 1985 alongside Barry McGuigan in Boxing at the same time and The Pogues were culturally Very Important.
Shortly followed by Jack Charlton and The Eurovision years.
A big change in the perception of the Irish people in the UK....may well have been the first steps to the end of the Troubles.
(I might write a book about all that 😊)
Really good point. Before my time but very interesting to hear - the power of sport eh!
Jack Charlton? His soccer teams were bloody awful.
Please do the book...
What a delight. Nice to see you featuring him, Stephen.
Proper legend is Taylor, learnt so much over all the years listening to him commentate.
These are pure gold these videos.
Simply the best snooker content on UA-cam by far.
honourable mention to Break from Life, but i agree
Needs STEPHEN LEE
agreed.
@@blehlast3639 that STEPHEN LEE needs to make an appearance?
Dennis Taylor always seems like such a nice guy.
This should be 2 hours and 29 minutes not just 29 mins!!!!! What a legend Dennis Taylor is, hope he continues to commentate for years and years! Awesome work Stephen, love your channel, keep it up!
This is probably the best thing I've seen on UA-cam this year. Dennis seems like such a genuinely nice person and Stephen is such a great interviewer!
My mum and dad bumped into Dennis a few years back at Belfast airport and they said he was the nicest person. It was actually him who initiated a conversation because we're from the same county as him and he overheard them talking and recognised the accent. He just seemed like a really humble fella.
I met Dennis in 87/88 at the Hofmeister world doubles. He was so kind
Remember it well! Massive loud cheer in my house when Dennis knocked this black in. Thanks for taking us down memory lane!
Best one yet. Could listen to Dennis Taylor and Stephen Hendry talk about snooker all day.
Dennis is probably my favorite personality in the whole scene. Such a great guy and a great commentator too. Happy to see him featuring on this series.
Here’s to hoping Dennis, John Virgo are still commentating for the 2024 world championships 🙏
Oh that was so nice. Two legends from different generations just chatting and having a little frame of snooker. Amazing!
Dennis Taylor on Stephen Hendry's UA-cam channel, isn't that so nice to see. The nicest lad you could ever wish to meet. And at the Crucible Theatre as well, can you get your breath?
What an amazing pair of utter gentlemen . Both have given joy to people of my age. I remember aged 13 watching Dennis do the 1985 thing. And Mr Hendry being unassailable & awesome in the ‘90’s
27:03 That's why you won it 7 times, you see! 🤣 👍🏻 Absolute class
What a lovely fella Dennis is.
Nice to see Jim Meadowcroft and John Spencer being remembered. I made a tribute video about him a while back with Dominic Dale for my Cues n Views channel. These memories are a true delight. Well done chaps.
Genius idea using that high camera angle in this. Seeing Dennis standing at that table from up there gave me chills.
Dennis is a wonderful ambassador for the game and one of the nicest guys anywhere. 👍❤
That 1st red from Hendry was a thing of beauty 🤌😗
Brilliant ! i met Dennis in Hong Kong when the Team were there for the Seiko cup. There was a crowd of them in the Bull & Bear Pub prior to the competition (they weren't drinking alcohol) they asked if I was going the QE Stadium for the match but I did not have a ticket and it was full so they took me along put a chair in the corner of the players enclosure so that I could see the matches first hand. That evening went on the "piss" with Cliff Thorburn, what a weekend.
I remember meeting and playing pool against Dennis when he hosted our end of year presentation night for the exmoor pool league. He said he hadn't played pool much before but by the end of the night he was really showing his class and beating everyone. Very funny and lovely man.
such a nice vibe Dennis is. you cant like him enough. him commentating on Ronnie's centuries is a better story then twilight
Great interview with Dennis Taylor, legend n a great embassador for snooker.
More show's with Dennis please Stephen.
Dennis Taylor is hilarious without any effort. Love him
Love Dennis. Lovely man. Was a great player and a world champion..👍
The legend Dennis, I was too young to watch the 1985 final live, was only 3 years old, I grew up late 80s onwards with snooker, was great to watch this, siuch a wonderful, lovely man, the world will be a much poorer place when he's no longer with us
What a legend Dennis is. And to have the pleasure to film this in the Crucible as well - can't beat it!
Soon as anyone talks about that final takes instantly back to where I was! brilliant
Would love to meet Dennis. A top class bloke, great player and great commentator too.
Dennis Taylor is such a down to earth lovely man so funny Stephen Hendry is a very humble and speaks with such respect
The only thing bigger than Dennis's glasses is his heart! Top episode yet again Stephen
It's his big fat gut.
Such a lovely, lovely, lovely man.
dennis taylor such a legend, and 7 times world champion stephen hendry such a legend too, your such a great player and still are you just gotta believe in yourself and you will find that star quality again
That famous gesture of Dennis Taylor after potting the black is second to none ❤
It’s tedious now he’s brings it up at any occasion
@@benarcher7411 Where's your snooker world title .u ain't got one so shut it
Andrew keep liking your own comments you weak little man haha telling people to shut it on social media maybe you should leave if other peoples comments get so upset
@@andrewmoody465 He's married Andrew, calm down luvy.
I actually love the fact you’re able to use the actual crucible camera angles in the crucible for this video, with a legend of the game, shows how much of an impact on the game you have to be able to make this video, keep up the good work
That was class!
I wouldn't be surprised if they've got keys to the building.
That's what I was thinking.
Yep, when the first overhead shot of the table appeared I initially thought it was a clip from days gone by.
Thank you - wonderful memories I am transported back in time to the mesmerising days of Higgins, Davies, Stevens,Reardon etc.
My favourite guy in snooker!
I remember that night in 1985 like it was yesterday glory days and fond memories
One of the best voices in commentary
Dennis Taylor has a mesmerizing voice.
Really enjoyed watching this. I was one of those millions who stayed up to watch that final game in '85. Such a lovely series this Stephen. And hats off to Dennis for just being such a great, likeable human being. Respect.
Great to listen to Dennis what a great guy down to earth and so nice about everyone
So nice to finally hear Dennis talk about the 85 final
That was a great watch...... Who doesn't love Dennis?
Thanks Stephen and the Cue tips team 😊
It's been a joy over the years to listen to Dennis' commentary. "Look at that for a shot, by the way!" A living legend!
I just love Dennis Taylor, as a player and a person 😍
Dennis Taylor... what a beautiful man. A true character and a gentleman. My favourite commentator of all time. He is a walking chuckle of joy.
He did a exhibition in a tiny village in Shropshire a few years back. Golden, great story teller and a gent.
what a legend could listen to denis all day
What a blast from the past , two legends .......makes me feel really old !
Little nod to the past with that table cam colour-cast 👍
Stephen Hendry, you caused me enormous frustration and relentless misery in the late ‘80s and 1990s by doggedly winning again and again and again against my childhood hero Jimmy White. Thank you for making some small amends with this enjoyable and diverting series. 😂
Very wholesome, thank you Stephen
Remember watching that final against Davis live.Great days you take them for granted
Dennis reminds me so much of my grandad who got me into snooker. He was from Monaghan in Ireland. They even sound exactly the same 😂 love listening to him commentate
Thank you Dennis Taylor. You made snooker accessible to all us 8 scoring numpties. I can't imagine how empty snooker would have been without you and Virgo xxx
Just wanna say! What a fantastic frame of snooker. Dennis still teaching the younger lol. Keep them coming Steve. Brilliant UA-cam site
I was allowed to stay up late to watch the 85 final, what a match. I love Dennis, he's such a lovable fella.
2 legends havin a chat and a frame. What’s not to like!
Worth the watch just to hear Dennis mention my home town of Middlesbrough! utb! lol what a pair of legends 👏
I remember watching the final between Davis and Taylor back then. That tournament was the first time I'd watched any snooker and I was hooked. I've had a soft spot for Dennis ever since and watching this video is just an absolute pleasure.
Love Denis as a commentator. Has great voice and accent for it. Very fair as well unlike Virgo whisr become very critical. Stephen doing great work on his channel here.
I cleaned Willie Thornes windows. He lived in Spain, and at the same time I did. Near Torrevieja. Great guy, great tipper he was. Loved his restaurant food.
What a legend what a lovely man he is❤
Love a bit of Dennis Taylor. Him and Steve Davis doing the 85 final recreation was great chat. Taylor is a very funny man.
