- We head over to Modurstang in Chipping Norton for my first modification on my Facelift 2020 Ford Mustang GT. We take out the centre resonator and replace this with an H-pipe, which makes the car sound louder and more aggressive. The reaction says it all. The car sounds absolutely incredible after this.

I added Roush axle back mufflers with the h pipe on my 2018 mustang and those mufflers were absolutely perfect. Best exhaust sound of any mustang Ive owned.

Thanks so much, Matt. I’ve been filming for over 10 years but car videos is a new field for me. It definitely comes with its challenges and I’m learning more every time I film with the car.
For this one I used my A7iii for the in-car talking shots. It was a bit shaky even with the IBIS, and the auto focus was a bit wild, but I do like the look it gave me over a GoPro. The problem is it’s fairly heavy and I’m not sure if it’s affecting the windscreen to have it mounted onto it.
The rest of the filming outside the car was on my A7siii, brilliant camera.-
@@s550days Very cool! Similar story here, filming fin work projects over the last decade, kicking myself for just starting my channel but hey that's how it goes. I have heard so many good things about the A7s so I will defiantly be checking them out very soon. For the shaky footage, I love it as it gives it that raw feel and look to the story.
@@LifeOfaMatt haha glad you like the shakes. I just went out with a 10-18mm stabilised lens which is much lighter. The quality is pants compared to the 24mm 1.4 prime so I think I’ll keep the shakes for now!
Car sounds good and mods are so addicting, that’s the same mod I did 6 years ago on my 2015, now whipple 3.0 SC full suspension NITTO drag radials, too much to list good luck moding your baby she gorgeous! USA thanks you for representing our Mustang family in the UK

I have a 2024 S650 on order with a manual transmission. The last car that I had with a manual was a Mitsubishi Evo X with full bolt-ons. I am excited to hear the coyote engine in person.

Haha thanks so much. It was hard work filming and editing this video but I’m so glad I did it. I went to Indiana (is that mid west?!) back in 2009 but that’s before I knew I loved v8 beasts… I’ll have to go back for sure!! She’s still making me smile every day😊
Sounds good. Now need some resonated straight through mufflers to free up some more power and keep tone the same.
Thanks! Yes my main worry doing anything else is losing the tone. I don't like the ones that are extremely loud but have no decent tone.
Active exhaust is standard on a U.K. or euro facelift car, and they are straight through when the valves are open (track mode).

Do it! It’s like a different car. Yes all Facelift have the Active Exhaust as standard here in the UK.

That’s crazy you guys have to declare your mods on insurance I have a 2021 fbo California special with long tubes and borla Atak and completely legal in the part of Texas I live in and it definitely doesn’t affect my insurance but I’m glad to see you enjoy your car nothing but love from the lone star state

Just a question! How would you say the drone is after the resonator delete? I'm thinking about getting it done on my Mustang Gt as well, I'm just nervous about the possible obnoxious drone. Thanks!
I would say it doesn’t really drone. Also, if you have a facelift you can put it in quiet mode which gets rid of basically all the noise.
I'm hoping to get a mustang next year. I hope it's worth it

The brand is Pypes Performance. No droning! And can turn the sound basically completely off using the valves if necessary.

I put a Corsa HH pipe on my Mach 1 and completely regret it. Stock engine note was perfect.
Oh no! Is the Mach 1 exhaust the same as the GT stock? I much prefer it now, but I guess it’s subjective. The note was nice stock, but it was way too quiet and not aggressive enough for me. You can probably get a resonator put back in?
When you were driving along the motorway, do you get any noticeable difference between quiet & track mode? I like the ability to hush mine when driving (conversation in the car / phone call etc) or open it up when its just me and feeling the mood. Or is that throaty aspect ever present regardless of mode at highway speed? Thanks in advance - From australia. Great camera/audio work too!!!
Thanks for the comment! Yes, in Quiet mode it gets rid of the exhaust pretty much completely, it's like driving a normal car. Even in Normal mode it takes out a lot of the overly present exhaust sound.

How does this affect the particulate filter and the MOT?
It does not affect the emissions as the H-pipe is after the emissions part of the exhaust. It passes MOT's no problem. If the noise levels were to be accurately measured it would perhaps become a problem as it is louder than factory, but I can just give them the car with quiet mode on which makes it quieter than factory in normal mode so I don't ever see it being a problem.
Understand an X-pipe mid-muffler delete would be even better, a little more HP and a better running engine? Interesting to learn what Modurstang thinks of it!
I had a look at videos comparing the two before I went for it, and I prefer the sound of the H-pipe. As I understand it the H-pipe provides better performance lower down where as the X-pipe provides better performance in the top end. The great thing about this mod is that it's very cheap to one day swap for the other type and see what's better!
@@s550daysthe power differences are usually not huge, unless it is a racing application, but the sound absolutely changes and your H-pipe handily rid your Mustang of that off-putting raspy engine note.

quick question. when contacting your insurance company, what did you tell them when getting the H-pipe fitted. did you say it was a modification to the exhaust or something along the lines of a new exhaust system even though it isn't a complete new system ?

I have not heard too many cars with this set up so it would be risky to spend money on something I'm not sure what it would sound like. Can always change back to a resonated catback in the future.

Started off ok but the sound started to sound like mashy? If that’s a way of explaining it?.
I went with the SwitchFire.
Best of both worlds. The low down grumble and the clean high rpm sound.

It’s neither ? I can understand (by look only) of how it could be described as an X, but defo not a H.
Needs longtubes and cat delete plus tune…then it will sound insane.
For what I need, that would make it overly loud. Imagine leaving a campsite or B&B at 5am 😂

Yeah they have always charged me a lot, I'm not sure why. Maybe because I didn't get a British licence until 21.

Not everyone does. For some reason I always get charged a lot. Not a home owner, don’t have kids, born in Argentina, driving since 21 instead of 17 years old. I’m not sure which one of these factors affects it but one of them does!!
