I have been doing Bosphorus Swim for nearly 10 years, this was one of the best demos of it. And It is all correct. It is not a race it is like a festival, most of us has nothing to do with our finish time. Current has a strange story, the hot salty water is flowing towards the black see under the Bosphorus and cold water flowing in the revers direction from the surface. That is what making us break record😀😀
As a Turkish swimmer. I've accomplish the route 4 times. First was in 2018 and my time was 01 hour and 3 minutes. Last year I swam the route in 48 minutes. This year my goal is under 40 minutes.I am strongly recommend all the swimmers who looking for a unique experience.
I did it in 2019 and it’s soo amazing! .. with bonus 3rd place in my age group like you 😀. The only participant from Indonesia 🇮🇩. Thank you for this video I can recall every moment especially when I feel I get the cold current.
3rd place? You must be joking with a time of 1 hour 16 minutes. You were in166th place in your age group. Congratulations for your achievement anyway ;)
