Thinking to buy the 2011 Acura TL sh awd with technology package for $10,500 and has 101k miles on it. Do you thinks its a good deal? or shall I negotiate?
I am switching from 2015 Subaru wrx to something else and i’m looking into buying a 2012 Acura TL technology package for 14k but they are offering me 11k it only has 73k miles on it. Is that a great deal? Is the part that you replaced happen to all Acura’s? Btw great video!
It’s just a wear item. But it’s pretty uncommon for them to fail. I have an MDX and my father has an identical TL without the issue. Are they offering to sell you the 12 TL for $11k or is that the offer for your WRX?
I'd take a '12 TL over a '16 Civic any day. Even with the higher mileage, the TL will almost certainly be more reliable thanks to not having a CVT or any type of forced induction (unlike the Civic). Plus, the TL is just a more enjoyable car to drive as a whole
You really can’t compare these two cars since they are just completely different in every category I’d take the TL cause they are just an overall better car. The TL is going to feel more powerful and ride way better then a civic. The TL is going to appeal a lot more. You will very seldom if ever get any head turners on either car but the TL would bring more attention then a civic. Every once in a blue moon someone will ask me if my TL is brand new or say it looks really good, mainly from ppl who don’t know about cars and just see a glossy black and has lots of good looking curves on it. The civic would be a great car too but you buy them for completely different reasons. Like you simply just want a newer car and something gas efficient and all at a decent price. You don’t really care how it looks or how small it is. The civic is just a car and there isn’t much to it. It’s going to drive good and be reliable for you at all times.
@@MrNate-wm3mp I might get a TL just like you with 160k miles for around the same price. It gives me some peace of mind that you haven't had much issues buying a high mileage car.
I purchase the 2012 Acura TL for my son, who gone to college last year. It had only 42,000 miles on it, which was low mileage. A few month in, i replaced the front end suspension, replace arm control bar. Just last week, the car alternator died without warning, left my son stranded. The car now has 55,600 miles. I'm a bit disappointed since I've read so many good review for the reliability of this car, even over the current TLX model. Will see what can go wrong next. Hope it will give us 200K miles.
This is a good example of why it really is better to buy a higher mileage one. Cars like to be driven. I’m at almost 220k on mine and it has not had a single issue
Low miles and you already replaced front end suspension and control arm? Damn. You shouldn't be replacing those when it that low or the previous owner hasn't drive it that much.

that's awesome man! I love it!
Bro what are u sure that he was racing you?
@@loganrees8987he was just playing with him this guy thought he was racing it
Great video. Very informative. I am looking to buy one soon.
Is a 2012 Acura TL FWD with Advance Package for $13,495 with 123k miles a good deal
Have you replace your spark splug ignition coil?
Have you checked to see if the "lugging" is a knock sensor?
The bit about the codes is extremely helpful as I’m looking into buying a used TL now
You mentioned you replaced the “intermediate shaft bearing”, thank you for sharing the symptoms. Did you use an OEM or aftermarket part? I see mine has a bit of grease on my CV area but all is working well at the moment.
I have a 2012 sh-AWD just Under 80k miles. When should I change the timing belt? It’s been 10 years but low miles? Can I wait till 90k? Car runs great.
Timing belt change at 100k
I drive a 2013 with only 61k miles.. The manual says do it at 100k miles.. nothing about years.. gonna do it next spring regardless of mileage just to be safe.
what about people complaining Acura TL 2012 often having problem with transmission ??
I’m gonna buy one in March, is there anything specific to look for?
Any major repairs? What to look for on maintenance?
Is this filmed at Mayfair?
im trying to save up for for one of these!! such nice cars
Did you get one? It's worth it! Each person I've given a ride always tells me how nice it is. Not bad for an old car.
@@jesusb9562 i wish! its been so hard to find a job these days. and knowone buys my merch so i dont have money to buy a car. i have my license just not enough fkr a car. 🥺😢
Hello, good review. Do you know if the timing belt has ever been changed?
Changed it awhile back
Currently driving 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD with 168,600 miles looking to trade it in for a 2012 TL SH-AWD with 130,000 miles for $10,000
Still have my 2011 tl in mint condition just hit 76,000 miles
Mr. Nate, I cant figure out how to view the total mileage, can you please advise me?
Looking into getting one thanks for the message tip!
Is the torque converter a serious issue?
Any wheel bearing replaced ??
I just bought a 2013 TL with 84.000 miles but not a technology package. Looks just like the one you showed on the video. Same color and interior and the only difference is the navigation system and the automatic start . Do u think with 84k I should do a transmission oil change?
Joseph Koroma absolutely! I would change it 3 times if it has not been done in the last 40k miles. After you do that simply drain and fill 3 quarts every 15k miles or every other oil change if you intervals are 7500 or your going off maintenance minder
Just curious, but do you know if the the timing belt was ever changed?? (I kind of skipped through the video so if you mentioned that I apologize)
It was replaced at 105k and due again at 210k
so it normal when i accelerate it feel a little jerky or jumpy? I just got mine yesterday and it has 30k milage. I'm worried that it already has a problem
mine too
@ have you checked the trans fluid?
Hey bud great video!! I wanted to ask you I have an 09 TL tech and I’m having an issue with the locks the only one that works is the passenger side which open and closes fine but the driver side and the two back one won’t work even with the remote or with the driver side lock bottom any idea what’s the problem please thanks
Same with mine. The driver's side won't lock
if you haven't already fixed then prob just needs a lock actuator. I haven't had to replace any of mine yet but I hear one getting a little noisy
@@MrNate-wm3mp it's probably going to cost me a fortune to fix it. Am about to upgrade to a Kia stinger
I'm about buy exactly the same car it's black is it worth it it has 96000 miles on it dealer is ask 9 grand just wanted some intake on this.
How often do you change the brake fluid?
Every 2-3 years should suffice.
I generally do every 2 years. Drain and fill transmission every other oil change.
i have this same exact car 60,000 and your car looks way better in shape than mine lol
Great info! I'm looking at getting the 2012 used (as I'm looking for a lower priced car as a daily driver).
How many miles did you buy it with and how much did you pay? There’s a 2014 with 130k on it for 11700k on it .. used car market is insane seems pricey but yours gives me confidence,, I think it’s price is high but that’s the market
Just bought a 2010 SH-AWD with the 6-speed manual 110k miles for $12k. Hard to find one with a stick, but well worth it. People like to charge the maximum for them even with high mileage, but keep looking.
I just crossed 200k yesterday in my 2006. Mine isn’t in very good condition appearance wise. 20 abrasions PO, all seats ripped and stained PO.
But hey it still runs. At the end of the day it drives and that's what matters.
I have my eyes on a 2012 SH-AWD with 237k miles would it be a good buy?
goddam!! whats the price on that?
imac846 $8k

Bought a 2009 for 4200 cnd and I really love It! It's white, with brown interior, and it's soooooooo nice! Yeah premium gas is shit but worth it!
@pochoun33137 it's good. I had to replace the radiator but other than that, it's fine.
@pochoun33137 no, not yet, and fluid looks clean and clear. It's a bit of a gas hog though... 10.6l/100km is what I'm averaging.
..you dont need premium bud. Its a nat. aspirated v6 lmao
@@Tai.S actually if it's the 3.7 then yes it absolutely needs premium. Owners manual specifically states premium required and lesser fuel can cause engine damage. Now I suppose if you are cheap and can use regular without pinging then you might be okay but then why get a car who's manufacturer specifically states premium required. Do you know more then the people who engineered this car?
What do y’all think is better 2012 or 2014 Acura TL ? Idk if there’s a difference between
Same question i have now
@@chikku807 I don’t think there’s a difference but I have had the 2012 Acura TL tech package since September and I love it put over 5k miles on it now
@@392jesus9 is it fwd or awd? And how's the gas mileage?
@@chikku807 mines is fwd and the gas mileage is pretty good. I like to drive fast sometimes because it’s a sporty car so I can get lower mpg like 15-20mpg haha, but if your just commuting you get decent gas mileage like 25 mpg. It only takes premium gas as well so it’s not like 4 cylinders where you can use regular gas but I got use to it over time and for work I have a 2010 Toyota corolla but I love driving the Acura TL because that thing is zippy and luxurious.
@@392jesus9 nice! I'm debating between the awd and fwd also because it seems the fwd does better in terms of fuel economy and is more reliable but awd is sportier and better for winter but im not sure if it's still worth it. Seems like fwd is more than enough for a lot of ppl
That generation leather seats are way tougher than the 3rd generation TL's.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a 4th gen tl. What should I be looking out for? Never owned a honda I just don't want to buy a problem
I'm looking at a 09 with 90k on her
Almost time for the 100K maintenance. That’s a important service you must do! I just picked up a 2010 TL SHAWD 6MT with a 106,000 miles. All major services have been done by Acura so I’m very confident in the vehicle. If your getting the SHAWD, make sure the motor is not consuming any oil. Ask if the oil consumption test has been done. Only on the 3.7 motors not 3.5
I bought my 09 tl over a year ago with 87k on it and has been nothing but perfect since I’ve owned it. If you’re still looking I highly recommend
Thinking to buy the 2011 Acura TL sh awd with technology package for $10,500 and has 101k miles on it. Do you thinks its a good deal? or shall I negotiate?
Could try to get it under 10k
Get 2012+ better
Is your Acura still going!!!
Is the tl a better car than the ilx or tsx?
Yes
Have a 2012 Base 120k daily driven 👍🏻
I just bought a 2010 SH-AWD 127k kilometres 😅 anything I should worry about?
Id make sure the timing belt has been changed
I got a 2009 TL with 285,000kms(178k miles) and had no issues at all.
Accord Troop oh okay!
And instead of $14k they said they’ll sell me the 2012 Acura TL for $11k with 73k miles on it.
Found a TL WITH 106000 MILES ITS A 2012 IS IT WORT IT
Yah. Just make sure it doesnt have any issues
I'm trying to buy one it's 2012 Tl it has 113k miles do you think it's a good idea to buy it or the 2016 Honda civic with 97k miles
I'd take a '12 TL over a '16 Civic any day. Even with the higher mileage, the TL will almost certainly be more reliable thanks to not having a CVT or any type of forced induction (unlike the Civic). Plus, the TL is just a more enjoyable car to drive as a whole
You really can’t compare these two cars since they are just completely different in every category
I’d take the TL cause they are just an overall better car.
Hello one ? Have you ever replaced the timing belt on this car
Yes, it’s on it’s Third now. Just did all the 105k maintenance
Thanks, Im scared to do lol
Am I reading this correctly? You've changed it three times
I changed it twice. Its on its "third" belt. don't forget about the original belt lol
$250 for all parts- Aisin kit, gates belt, crank seal, drive belts.
$443 labor at my Buddys shop
What was your purchase price?
ThaDopeShow $8000 here in the southeast had 180k a year ago from video when I bought it
@@MrNate-wm3mp I might get a TL just like you with 160k miles for around the same price. It gives me some peace of mind that you haven't had much issues buying a high mileage car.
how on earth is your MPG so high? DO you ONLY driv on freeway?

I’ve been trying to find this in manual for so long

U still have that car
I purchase the 2012 Acura TL for my son, who gone to college last year. It had only 42,000 miles on it, which was low mileage. A few month in, i replaced the front end suspension, replace arm control bar. Just last week, the car alternator died without warning, left my son stranded. The car now has 55,600 miles. I'm a bit disappointed since I've read so many good review for the reliability of this car, even over the current TLX model. Will see what can go wrong next. Hope it will give us 200K miles.
This is a good example of why it really is better to buy a higher mileage one. Cars like to be driven. I’m at almost 220k on mine and it has not had a single issue
probably didnt need replacement, mechanic fucked something up
Low miles and you already replaced front end suspension and control arm? Damn. You shouldn't be replacing those when it that low or the previous owner hasn't drive it that much.
@@kg888 I was extremely surprise with all the repairs since my previous 2003 MDX had no issues and got me 195,000+ miles. Anyway, after control arm, front end suspension, alternator. I had a recall for Torque Converter. Took to the dealer, they said that they will perform the service but in order to do so, they will need to replace several other components in order to get to the torque converter, it will costs about $2,300. At that point, I gave up on the car and got a great deal for a trade-in. They gave me my purchase price for trade-in which was $17,200. If anyone remember back in 2020 - car trade in value was about $2,000 - $3,000 higher. I traded in for a certified used 2019 V6 TLX SH-AWD.

Timing belt change?
how is it now? considering trading the Q50 in for one. due to the 144k miles of the Q :/
225k miles still perfect might shoot an update video soon. my mom has 2017 Q50 and likes it a lot but they drop in value to fast. she has 3.0T.
