- A surprise visit from the 7th special operations unit based at RAF Mildenhall was a great opportunity to test the new Panasonic HCX-1500 camera out. From now on I’ll be shooting most of my content at 60fps 4K with some great new features including improved stabilisation.
For anyone interested

Those propeller vortices are so impressive !
Thank you my friend.
This aircraft is so impressive
Listening to a slow flying/hovering Osprey is like getting a massage for the eardrums.
I like it 😎👌
Always remember the Harrier doing a bow to end the display, nice touch 👌
Thank you 👍
So chuffed we got the bow 😎🇺🇸👍
Wow !!! Absolutely stunning vortices on the tiltrotor of the CV-22B Osprey 😎🤩
Absolutely fantastic footage again Dafydd, you must have pre knowledge or tip off's for where to be to get such great image/footage of these wonderful machines? Keep them coming all the same. Fantastic results from your new kit 👍👏👏😍 I'm in awe as always 👍
The Osprey is wierd and freaks me out a bit. Love how the pilots put on a mini display for you so that you could get the best shots. The bow at the end was the icing on the cake.
A cool crew 🇺🇸✈️🇺🇸✈️👌
Does it remind you of the start of the terminator 2?
Those rotors bladetips streamers were a joy to watch.
Ospreys are always so cool to observe!!!!.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Ospreys!.
This is one of the best Osprey videos I have ever seen. The sound quality is really good
Thank you 😎👍
Awesome plane, piloting and photography
Part helicopter...part turbo prop...what's not to like! Loves me some V-22.
It’s mind blowing to think of the engineering it takes to make it fly. Thanks for the closeup! Just wonderful
Happy you enjoyed it 👍
EL OSPREY PARA INCENDIOS FORESTALES SERÍA MAGNÍFICO.
UN FUERTE ABRAZO PHILIP
Dafydd, Ballesteros said, " The Osprey would be magnificent for forest fires. A "strong hug", Philip.
@@terry1447 THANK YOU SO MUCH👍👍👍
at 3:28...those prop vortex are fantastic looking.
Humidity was just right 👌
Saw 2 of these up on the Yorkshire Dales a few weeks ago, they sound epic.
This footage of the CV-22 with your new camera is absolutely fantastic, Dafydd!! It has also the most perfect Osprey sound I've ever heard from any video. I can hear pretty much all of the frequencies that those gorgeous rotor/props make!!
Thanks Justin. I’m really impressed with the new kit 😎👌
Nice catch of the USAF CV-22 made in Ridley Park Pennsylvania and Texas. Currently all V-22's are coming back and being modified into one configuration at Ridley Park Pennsylvania in the CCRAM program.
In a previous life :) I worked at that location as a software engineer on the V22. I miss those days. A feature called CIC (Central Integrated Checkout) was my baby.
Great footage n display...n good cameraman too...Top 🤙🏻🎖🇧🇪
Thank you 😎👍
Truly one of my most favourite aircraft and very unique to boot, those swirly vortices coming off the blades were quite ghostly, thanks for sharing :-) Regards from near Bedford, UK
Thanks Paul.
Happy you enjoyed 👍
This aircraft is ... wahou ! and the propeller vortices just amazing !
Superb! I love it when they bow when your watching.
Thanks !!
Great crew ✈️✈️🇺🇸👌
That aircraft can make the ground shake
Excellent bit of kit!
Good video, and see the vortexes through the propellers !!
Thank you !!
Humidity was perfect 💨💨💨
Tip vortices’ fog rings are beyond cool. Well, beyond the dew point anyhow!
First time seeing them besides movie's.
Thank you.
Goose bumps.
Two V-22 waiting to perform a multitude of roles sitting on the stern flight deck of HMS Queen Elizabeth would look fantastic.
I’m a fixed wing guy but this gave me goosebumps. Thank you for sharing.
Thank for watching Joshua. Happy you enjoyed 👍
Wow, those vortexes between the rotors, nicely caught on film! Well done!
Thank you.
Humidity was just right 💨💨👍
Formidable Aircraft 😍
You are a genius Dafydd 👌
File this CaughtOnCam Osprey Hover as a Top 10 for 2020 . Well done .
Thank you sir, will do 👍😎
Man.......this video is absolutely awesome! Love those vortices! Great camera work, as always!😁
Thanks you sir 😎
@@DafyddPhillips You're most welcome, buddy!🤙👍😁
Great footage! I live in Hampton Roads, Virginia, a military mecca, and am lucky enough to see V-22's fly over, usually in pairs. I have to listen a bit when I hear them approaching; they sound like what they are, hybrid chopper and fixed wing. Thanks for the good closeup video, love the bow!
Now THAT'S something ya dont see everday. What an awesome piece of machinery.....nice footage!!
Thanks Kenneth 👍
Great footage as always...
In a previous life :) I worked at the Ridley PA location as a software engineer on the V22. I miss those days. A feature called CIC (Central Integrated Checkout) was my baby.
Thanks Anthony, Must of been great times ✈️✈️🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
Such an amazing machine! Excellent catch
I see these Osprey fly over my House in Gloucestershire. i think the Boys @ Hereford have a few !...also enjoying The B2 Spirit and B 52's also from Fairford over the summer months
I approve of the new camera. Great looking footage!
Thank you.
Appreciated 👍
Great quality video. I wish someone would make a time travel movie with the Osprey traveling back to visit the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk to show them what the future is like.
Thank you Tom
That sounds a great idea for a film. 🎓👌
@@DafyddPhillips Also send back a F-35B STOVL to really blow their minds.🙂
Or a modern aircraft carrier to 1941 to save a dog...wait. That one has been done... ;)
Wow! Good conditions for capturing the blade affects! Good work.
Awesome video... :-). Thank you for sharing.
Thank you 😎👍
Awesome footage of a truly unique aircraft thanks for sharing this as always 👍🇨🇦
Thanks Dan 👍👍
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Appreciate your viewing 👍
Outstanding!
Fantastic as always ❤👉🏴
Thank you ✈️😎👍
Brilliant camera work Daffyd. Two flew over my house yesterday.
Outstanding capture 👏🇺🇸
Thanks Shane 👍
This is excellent, as usual. Thank you Sir.
Thank Tom. Hope your well
Awesome video and great pilots!
Thank you 👍
Thats crazy you can see some king of turbulence in the air right under the tip of the blades!
This was a great video. I lived near the Arlington Texas airport where the first flights were conducted. It was an amazing site watching this aircraft fly over our neighborhood. Once the hover tests were done, it started flying with the propellers in the forward position. We knew what the configuration for the test would be as it flew south from the airport. If it was flying with the rotors in the hover position, the chase aircraft was a helicopter. If the flight was going to be a rotor forward test, the chase aircraft was a Cessna Citation jet as the max speed is 275 knots.
Thanks Bryan. Interesting info 🎓👍
Wow, top-class pics 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Loved the Bow. ❤️
Daf an unexpected surprise! This craft defies logic 🤠 Sure glad you presented it today!
Appreciate your viewing and happy you enjoyed it
😎👍
Top video, best one this year in my opinion.
Thanks Charlie 👍
New camera seems to work fine. Pilot bows to your camera skills...lol
I like how the LZ is in the Windows Desktop wallpaper
Brilliant video as always Daf. Jammy git.
Cheers Roger 😎😁
Awesome!
I could tell it was England just looking at that green grass field. Oh, and the lack of sun
With all those ingredients thrown in then it can only be Wales 🏴🤠
WOW!Amazing video and footage man👌
Thank you 👍
Amazing as usual!
Thanks Francisco 👍
Great Video, love the osprey.
Thank you 👍
What a great catch!
Superb as always Sir 👍🏻
Thank you 😎👍
Another fantastic video as always, even better with the new camera, I will have to look at getting one ;)
Thanks Philip.
It’s a great piece of kit 👌
Superb
Thanks mark 👍
Wow!
Really good footage, the main gear doors look a bit flimsey
Amazing footage of a weird and wonderful aircraft Dafydd.
The vortices, (under the rotors) that we can see, particularly after the 03:00 mark - could you see them with the naked eye, or is it the camera that's causing the effect?
Thanks Ian. You can see them with the naked eye but if you can capture them with a camera they look like slinkies hanging underneath the rotors. This machine something you have to see in the flesh. It’s surreal
Thanks for your kind response Dafydd.
It's a remarkable aircraft, and I'd love to see it in the flesh.
The vortices do look like slinkies - that's a great description - I wasn't sure whether it was an effect caused by the camera, as it's not something I've ever seen before.
Yet another of your fantastic uploads - I feel lucky to have found your channel.
Dafydd, the V-22 OSPREY is one of my all time favorite 'known aircrafts',
and I can't thank you enough for sharing this one! A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ! ! ! ! ❤
Great work as always my friend!!
🙂👍

PS: Best of luck and have fun with your new camcorder!
Those HCX-1500s look really impressive!
Thank you. The HCX-1500 is in another level 😎🎓👌
@@DafyddPhillips You're very welcome!
And Awesome! That's so cool to hear! 👍👍
A most unnatural flying machine. Thank you for the footage!
I saw three of those at mildenhall
Fabulous as usual man!
Thank you
Simply awesome! Any tips for people who want to stay near the Mach Loop on holidays, best season, dog-friendly cottages? Cheers! 👍🏻❤🏴
Thank you. The only tips are to find a hill and be patient. You may get lucky or not.
Try this place for accommodation.

The owner like to go up the hills himself so he would be able to assist
Good luck and enjoy ✈️🤞
We get these flying around my house especially at night. They have green lights on the rotors that make it look like a ufo. No idea why they visit the area so often because there's no military base around that uses these. It must have something to do with Site R (Raven Rock) mountain complex.
Another fantastic Video and very proffesional by any standards Dafydd m8 :). Ref the Osprey there in your video, I can fly them in a PC miltary Sim game called Arma 3 and is quite realistic in its way and good fun too. All the best m8 :)
Thank you 😎👍
impressive 👏🏼
Thank you Martha Xx
Excellent video! Well done)))
Thank you 👍
Solid
Neat!!
Quality filming there Dafydd 👌🏼
Thank Ollie. Hope you got some nice shots. 👍👍
Da iawn Dafydd ardderchog 👍👍
Diolch Glyn 🏴👍
Dafydd, cannot comment on this video because all the other viewers have taken my lines with perfection. I just want to thank you again for another great ride with you. I have seen this ugly duckling in person numerious times and it still amazes me! Engineers are just amazing aren't they?
Thanks Scott. Yes, it’s an impressive piece of machinery. 🎓👍
Heck of a beast but it just screams instability...
This was amazing! What camera do you use
Thank you.
I’m using my new Panasonic hcx1500. It’s 4k and 60fps.

Nice video
Cheers Kev 👍
I was hoping it would "transform" but great shots regardless.
Thanks you. It remained in hover near us. It started to transform as it went around the back of the trees. Not complaining though 😎
Bad Ass!!!
✈️
😲👍
Maybe a daft question, but are those rotors connected in case 1 engine dies? Great vid btw 👍
Thanks Shane. I’m not up with any specs on the Osprey sorry. Just know it’s an awesome aircraft
Yes it can The Osprey can fly on one engine like an airplane or even with the rotors angled upward somewhat, but only with the lightest possible load, under ideal conditions and at low altitude could a V-22 hover on one engine. I got all that from google
Did you capture the ball of Fire...........??
Osprey = Gwalch y môr in Welsh.
Dafydd, mae'r deryn yma yn dipyn o walch! Rwy'n gweld nhw'n gyson o'r cwrs golff yn San Clemente, lle mae nhw'n hedfan mas o Camp Pendleton.
Couldn't agree more....I think.
Shw mae Pethe Dai?
A pretty special moment to see this bird in your native land. 🏴🏴
I’m sure you see a few over there on the west coast
@@DafyddPhillips We see them regularly - they fly low along the coast, and i watch them coming out of Pendleton when I'm playing ⛳
Bro, why are you in a Windows XP desktop?
🇺🇸U S Aircraft is world No. 1
Is This in England?
Just Next door in Wales 🏴🏴👍

One of them must of read this Dave,, it’s down to eleven 🤠👍
So this is the kind of birds you can attract if you put a big white H on your lawn?
