Got this amp running 1 ohm strong for a year now
Wiring to 1 ohm and running at 1 ohm are two different things. That's why I started this channel to show people what subs actually run at on that particular amp. It does run 1 ohm though, you're correct. I think they were wrong on the website. In this Dyno test I clearly showed what a 1 ohm running load will give you for power.
Bought mine off FB marketplace for $40 got it on a 1.3 ohm load...LOVE'N IT!!!
Does it get hot?

@Luminous.Dynamics when I had it didn't, it was a good amp had it pushing a skar vxf 12 and it got loud for being under 1k rms
I freaking love alpine amps and alpine subs that type x sounds so sq its a perfect sub and alpine power is super clean
I'm a big fan myself. I own a few Alpine amps and I've had a few subs over the years including 3 Type X 12. I had 2 of them going on my van and the bass they hit and sounds were amazing. Thanks for your comment 😊
For accurate and controlled dyno signal, use an IMSG for signal input into your amplifiers. You can use the 2 tools together to find enclosure tuning, free air resonance, and you can have a steady signal and frequency for very accurate results.

The jbl 550 to 551 club amp does buf power on lower ohm load also like 1500 dynamic at 1 or 1.3 ohm.
I did the 550. Not sure how low I went. I don't think I had a big enough power supply then to fully test it. Maybe I'll have to get another and retest it.
Wired to 1 ohm this amp does 850 rms certified almost 1200 dynamic like 950 uncertified it's a monster 500 watt amp and I believe it run 1 ohm no problem prolly get hot thats it
I think I got just under 900 on the dyno and I could have probably gone much more. Thanks for your comment.

What is ur opinion on the alpine type x subwoofer I seen in the pic u have some.

How was the gain set up on it? I have a 400 watt RMS sub just laying around and I want to connect it. Rn I have a sub that is also 400 watt RMS it’s a Rockford fosgate p2. So I was wondering if you think it will be able to power 2 400 watt rms subs.
Yes. Just wire them as low as you can. Don't turn the gain up all the way. Also don't turn the Bass boost way up. Halfway a little over on both will not hurt. Listen to your sub's. If it sounds like it is too much back off a bit.

I wish i still had this amp or the mrd 1k or mrv 1200 i need a amp for my subs in my mancave bad running my subs off if 350 watt house tuner is not enough power i have a power supply and batterys to run a car amp in my basement just need a amp if anyone has a nice amp they dont want !
I love the Alpine amps. I have the MRV 500. MRP 1000. I have a few older too. Rockford prime 1000, precision Power 1000. Rockford power 300/2.

I saw on another channel that the Rockford fosgate prime 500 1D did I think it was a thousand Watts at 1 ohm but I don't know how long you can run these amps on one ohm before you risk destroying it. The Rockford fosgate prime is only rated for 2 ohms also. Do you have an opinion on this?
This amp is rated for 4, 2, and 1 ohm. 1 and 4 are supposed to be the same but clearly it's not. I've had this amp for years. Ran every sub under the sun on it without any issues at all, never once any problem or even getting hot. She's a cool calm girl. The Rockford amp I really need to get to test. The only class D RF amp I had was the older prime 500.1, the huge amp. I have the 1,000 watt one now and it did 15-1,600 watt's on 1 ohm. That amp was solid also, I've never had any issues with any of the amps from them. But I may get one of them just for videos and to test live.
@@SubzPawz awesome thank you for your reply I had no idea that this Alpine amp was rated for one ohm, I guess it probably wouldn't be a good idea to run that prime 5001D on one ohm since it's only rated for two ohms. I just bought one used and I'm looking at buying this Alpine amp used.
Is this amp has a Sense mode? like auto ON when connected to high input?
Anyway you connect your subs it will run them. 4,2,1 ohm, I've even gone below 1 ohm. It's an incredible amp, one of my all time favorites. Thanks for your comment 😊. Hope I helped 😉

It would play it, it would sound okay. I might get something a tad stronger for power wise. If you had no other choice you would be okay. There's nothing wrong with under powering a sub, as long as your not giving it dirty power and clipping the sub.

What are you trying to spend? Size sub? Amplifier you plan to use?
I have the mrv-m1000 and two alpine type rs 12,s I'm going to try and run mine at one ohm amp specs say nothing below 2 ohms hummmmm
Go ahead and do it, it will run just fine. I had the same amp, very powerful amp. I believe I ran it at 1 ohm several times, I'm glad you caught on. Thanks for your comment, let me know how it works out.

I don't see why not. I'd get the dual 2 ohm version and wire it to 1 ohm if possible. But if you have the dual 4 it should do okay. Thanks for your question and comment 😊

@@xboxproductions657 if you had ordered the dual 2 wired to 1 ohm it would have been perfectly fine and actually used everything the amp has to offer. Usually if you wire a sub expect it to run at double the impedance it's wired to and that will be the actual power you're going to get. But what's done is done. You'll probably get like 3-400 watt's.
@@SubzPawz haven’t ordered the amp yet thankfully. Will go up in power to a 2 ohm amp that can handle 650-800rms. I just want it to be very clean power.
These amps are great, and the amp that essentially replaced it (Alpine S-A60M) is even better. Have been very happy with both.
Although, even as an Alpine fanboy, I would have to say that the best value on the market is the Power Acoustik Rz-2500. Similar size, power, and reliability as the Alpines, but at half the cost. However Alpine has a stronger and cleaner sound when using the radio, and has 4 gauge inputs vs PA's 8 gauge.
I do love Alpine, they're one of my favorites, that's one of my next soon to be amps, one of the newer Alpine's. I have the PA 2500 and 1500, did not do the 1500 dyno yet. Thanks for the info and your comment.
Whats a good 1ohm singke 12 subwoofer in a ported. To run to amp off of?
Depending on the money we're spending. Budget the Rockville punisher 12. Not so budget Skar ZVX12 or Slapz Audio Neo 12. Thanks for your comment 😊
