I have spondylolysis from a permanent bilateral pars defect (had it at 22, still have it at 40. It's causing a lot of problems now. I am being sent to an orthopedic doctor.) Never was an athletic kid, so doc said I was likely born with it. Back pain started at 20 something when I was pregnant and I got the diagnosis through a series of images. Got recent x-rays done and they found it on there too.

They're different, and not the same
losis- wear/tear/degeneration, lysis- breakage
