    I had an L4-L5
I’d did tons of proper core exercises (birddogs, deadbugs, hip lifts) and swam 500 meters everyday for 3 months and reversed my spondy. Also I suck in my navel area (as if your preparing to get punched in the stomach) any time I BLT or bend lift or twist. I also went to chiro for 5 months to get treatment like decompression, traction, adjustments. You must stay on mild core exercises everyday so it’ll speed healing and as you get stronger and stronger! Good luck!

Thanks guys!! I’ve been watching your guys for years and have helped me through a lot of old sports injuries. Last week I was goofing off with my kids on our lawn slip n slide. Well on the last run I tried to slide competing with our 12 year old. Didn’t turn out well. I wound up hitting the slide to hard and my back hyperextended. I felt a small pop. Now lower back has been tight for the past week. Lesson learned!

Hi , i had back injuries in the gym in year 2013 with mild disc protrusions at L2/L3 & L3/L4 and facetal joint hypertrophy with resulting central canal stenosis . My chiropractor healed me .But 2 months ago , i have just had another back injury while putting my trouser in the bathroom.Since then , i have mild foot drop and low back pains .Today i went to the clinic for another mri scan and the results are as follows :
Mri report as at 6 sep 19 :
Moderate spondylosis at L3/L4 & L4/L5 disc levels moderate bulging disc more severe towards the right side with encroachment of both exit foraminae &corresponding nerve root sleeves .No listhesis, no facet joint hypertrophy. No canal stenosis.
Mild disc bulging noted at L2/L3 .
    Remaining disc levels normal.
    Bone marrow normal.
    Conus medullaris normal.
    Conclusion : moderate spondylosis L3/L4 & L4/L5 , more severe at L3/L4 right side.
What exercises are recommended for me ? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Brad and Bob,
Thank you very much for your Spondy videos. I have 5 mobile lumbar segments. Transitional T12 and first degree spondylolisthesis at L4-5 and l5-S1. I have plans for a 2 week trek in Tibet for a once in a lifetime experience. I am committed to religiously and consistently doing Spondy PT exercises for the next 3 months leading up to the trek. Hopefully, the exercises will help me get through the trek.
I’ve never worn a back brace. Do you think it would make sense to wear a brace while trekking? You suggest on your videos only tightening the brace when worn for particular moves that stress your back. At minimum I am wondering if it makes sense to wear and tighten a back brace when hiking downhill. Even with PT exercises, my back is sure to protest loudly. Is there any harm in wearing a brace the entire time when hiking and tightening it whenever it seems effective in reducing discomfort? I will be wearing a day pack, which will provide a little compression and stability but not to a degree that will help much.
    Thanks,

Brad I enjoy your vids on youtube and use them for reference. I to am a Grade 1- "Spondy" L4 over L5 with virtually no disc to speak of in between 4/5, infact our Xrays are interchangeable. I have 83% narrowing on my right side thus walking more than a mile is possible BUT it has its issues. I was wondering if you would ever consider a minimum invasive spine sx procedure for relief like a partial Laminectomy/Facetectomy. I am not over weight and in good shape but would like to get back to being in better shape. I have a two-year-old boy and don't want him to know his old man as just that an 'ole man'... Should sx always be a LAST resort option? I am for the most part fully functional BUT greatly limited. I would appreciate your thoughts as I am considering this surgery approach in seeking a better quality of life.

I have stage 1 Retrolisthesis with two herniated discs L4/5 , L5/S. I would really appreciate you doing a video on exercises for Retrolisthesis that I can do to stabilize my spine. I have seen nothing on the internet about treatment for my condition.

That was really informative! Thank you.
My mother (58yrs, obese) was diagnosed with lumbar spondylolysis as a result of displacement of L4-L5 discs 9 years ago and also developed thoracic spondylosis last year. She cannot walk more for more than a minute at a stretch without stumbling, due to extreme numbness, at which point she has to sit. Also experiences a shooting pain that radiates from lower back to the ankle.
What can you suggest to manage her radiating pain and numbness in lower extremities? Would an inversion table aid in reducing pain?
I'd really appreciate your advice! Thanks in advance!!

i have a bad back problem from early athleticism in my growing years before, during, and after puberty. My question is: How possible is it to play football again? I'm currently 32 and have come back to college to finish my degree. I'm treating the pain with gabapentin and amitryptiline. I'm also in line to start injections and physical therapy. I'm hoping that finally gettin Physical therapy will eventually allow me to exercise and workout freely without pain. I think to myself, If I can get into shape, why not play football again. Is this a pipe dream or should i go for it if i feel good?

Its extremely harming because rotation plus flexioin is a mechanism for lumbar herniations. Check Mcgill and his exercises.

Question: are the exercises recommended daily? I've been recently diagnosed with spondylolisthesis and some days are good and other days are bad. Another question: does having spondylolisthesis also trigger inflammation in the lower abdomen area? I tend to get inflamed when in pain. Love your videos and learning a lot! Thanks!

Stretching is just stretching, it’s not going to solve any of these problems. You must physically strengthen your pelvic girdle which is actually fairly difficult to do. I’ve been dealing with a spondylolisthesis since I was 17. I’m now 66 years old. Over the past 10 years I’ve had three MRIs of my lumbar spine and what I am doing is working it’s very slow and there’s lots of excruciating nights, but stretching is putting a Band-Aid on it exercising will actually strengthen and hold your pelvis and spine together better and will likely improve your outcome. Good luck…

Thank you so much. I am 42 year old and I had fractured L4 and L5 in my middle twenties. Was diagnosed with Arthritis and Spondylosis.I've had a series of physiotherapy that within 3 weeks after discharge the pain is ferocious. The [pain is worst especially when I wake on mornings, things have gotten so bad I now have a chronic pain in my tailbone . I can not lift any load, sit or stand too long and if I lie on my tummy too long this aggravates the area. out of seven days I have pain the lest is 5 days. At its worst every time I walk a pain goes down my leg, sometimes down to the ankle causing me to limp and , also causing both hips to hurt . I'm completely out of finances...can you please advise me on what exercises , procedures, diet or supplements that I can do to improve this problem? I need help! Thank you
