And never used. Seriously...a CRITICAL knockdown into a HOLD UP with the four-person All-Out Attack ignored with the 1MORE triggering a ShowTime ignored in for a Baton Pass just to do 3k damage when less than 500 was needed. I get that this is Merciless so that OP wanted to show off, but seriously there was too much mechanics-ignoring showboating interwoven with time-waster moves. (Like, really, using One-Shot Kill that is resisted to deal 55 dmg instead of simply swapping Noir out for Panther or Skull temporarily?)
@@pyrrhusnikos242 Showtimes are inherently random when they show up, and can do really varying amounts of damage. I wanted to use this video for the guide I wrote, so doing it without Showtimes meant that no matter how few Showtimes an individual got, they could still complete the fight before Lavenza uses Megidolaon. And how much damage Haru does with OSK is almost irrelevant, you're using that move to get a crit and Baton Pass to Joker, whose damage will trump everyone else

bainz They aren't random actually. There are queues which cause them to almost always happen (Enemy low, enemy defense down, Joker low, ally incapacitated, etc. etc.)

For those of you who didn’t catch it: yes, Thermopylae can only be used during when Joker is ambushed. However, if you have the skill Vitality of the Trees, then you can use any of those ambushed-exclusive moves in normal combat. So basically your party gets a full Heat Riser without wasting multiple turns, maxing Yusuke, or relying on Futaba’s RNG.
Bit late but if you have the orpheus f dlc you get to use a skill that boosts all of your stats and heal you for 50% hp without needing to be surrounded.

I don’t know what was funnier to me: Haru getting spawn killed barely after finishing being revived, or the game absolutely spamming Showtimes in the second half of the battle.

My stomach dropped when Haru missed one shot kill. Seriously, I lost to Lavenza twice on hard because of Haru and Sumire failing to crit, even though I had the passive crit bonus and brave step.
I managed to beat her first try by seriously overpreparing, but still _almost_ lost when it came down to Joker having to perform an unboosted crit with Sword Dance after Noir and Violet had already failed.

Well, to me the song gives the vibe of confronting an absurdly powerful opponent, with Shido it just happened to be a really personal fight

I followed this video step by step but somehow i managed to skip phase 4 entirely and beat her with Hassou Tobi from Yoshitsune just like in 5:13

This is the same line up and strategy i use the only change is that i use Akechi instead of Makoto bc of his trait and debilitate, even the same loadout for Sumire and for Haru i go with OSK, heat riser and Mapsyodine the rest is gun boost and amp and psy boost and amp, nice video bro even most of people think Okami breaks the game there are a lot of strategies for her even on Merciless also Satanael is OP with black viper and intense focus

Unfortunately Atlus chooses not to acknowledge the first 2 games. I really do hope someday they remake Persona 1 and the Persona 2 duology.

My biggest question is what accessory should I give Joker? You mention in the guide what to give the others but not Joker. At least not for the non-solo part.
Is there a strategy behind not using showtimes bc I have a lot of trouble beating this boss even when maxed out

Every character has their own saving Joker animation, and they all slow down

That'd be interesting, kinda like FF7R Hard mode, no items. The toughest part would be not being able to heal/remove ailments with whoever you want. I might try it at some point!

On my first playthrough I thought Lavenza is a little cutie and she doesnt get enought screentime. On my second playthrough I was happy to see her again ... then I fought her (still doing it and stopped counting). Now all I can say is: "I hate her, I hate her, I HATE HER; I HATE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next playthrough I'll accept Yaldabaoth's offer, so that the little bitch may rot in quarantine velvet room for all eternity.

As someone that also did it on merciless, is actually not thaaaaat hard, its just that the requirements are VERY tight.
For first phase i personally went with Ryuji for his party wide charge, Sumire with her party wide crit+, Akechi for his debilitate and with Joker i kept rotating between Attis for his party wide Heat Rise (only works if you give him the trait to be able to use abilities that require an ambush at any time), a healer persona, Yoshitsune for damage and any other persona with high luck stat with any ability that has a high chance of criting.
The first phase is just bursting her down, keep in mind that after you do around 5000dmg, her next phase begins.
Here you will need a technical hit each turn, so for that, i swapped Akechi for Haru just before the phase started and used status effects on Lavenza, any works tbh but i went for those that are affected by Psi attacks (if you struggle with the RNG and have the DLCs, Raoul's Phantom Show is almost 100% chance of hitting a sleep status effect, but really, any works), do that until she gets her new dialogue.
On the next phase, she will require a crit each turn, this is where Sumire's buff really shine, now spam Haru's One shot kill and any high crit chance ability with Joker that you have and you should be fine.
After that you get to lavenza's last phase where you'll really need to burst her down because she starts to hit HARD, haru quickly becomes useless here as Lavenza in this phase is inmune to status effects AND gun damage, so swapping her out for anyone will is the best choice (unless you somehow managed to make her a magic user, in that case, yea she can do damage with Psi attacks), and from then on is bursting her down while surviving.

Oh, no you def don't have to. My strat for this fight was just based around party members Baton Passing to Joker, so Linked Bloodline was effective here. Linked Bloodline based on my testing gives a 40% boost but weirdly only affects single-target skills after a Baton Pass. But Mighty Gaze is better in general, cuz it's always 20%

I don't believe they stack, but I haven't tested it. You'll either dodge based on Ali Dance or Evade, not both at the same time

You can still use recording software, but the actual ps4’s broadcasting is blocked in the third semester yea.
It says no dlc but in order to get the accessory Salvation Crown you need dlc
