I saw Shake and Dana for the first time in 1978 when a girl I was dating dragged me to one of their shows in Houston. Been a fan ever since and have seen them together and solo many many times since. Fantastic performers.

I’ve been listening to this band and this song for 40+ years.
    What talent!
This is that most beautiful unrequited love song!
Tonight, it took me a while to post this, and I hate pausing this song!!
Thank you Shake Russel and Dana Cooper, very much!!

This brings back a lot of memories. I was friends with the Blacks (Kevin, Clint, Mark, and Brian) in Houston back in the 70's and 80's and they turned me on to and also introduced me to Shake at an outdoor nighttime gig. Kevin really liked that song and sang it all the time. Those were good times with the best music!

Started listening to Shake when he played at Steamboat Springs. Not the Colorado Steamboat. The bar in a 610 parking garage, or at the end of one. They seemed like the House Band at Steamboat. Around '78 or so I'm walking north in that Galleria garage catching a glimpse of a brown leather vest due SW. Shake, I said as he's heading in to play. He altered course and walked right up to me. We shook hands. He lit a cigarette and handed it right to me. Great guy and a great Houstonian.

The acoustics, vocal ranges, harmonizing and harmonica create a soul-touching experience. This is poignantly powerful. Dana's vocal range blended with Shake's vocals are off the charts. I listen to this often to lift my soul.

Shake Russell, John Prine, Johnny Reno, and Towns Van Zandt were my favorites long ago in Austin.

I’ve only heard them on vinyl and UA-cam.
I’ve been to kerrville several times though but never close enough to see them.
I envy everybody that had this experience of harmony and great musicianship.
Dana Cooper is so very talented with his voice, that guitar, that harp.
That harp is the most special thing about this video.
His voice is amazing, too, yes it is!
