I think the best line that perfectly sums up Pam and Dwight's unique friendship is actually when Pam asks Dwight to pick some stuff up for her and he replies, "Pam, I'm obviously going to get those things for you, so just shut up!" I just love that line

@@SoutParl Well, if you consider Jim pranked Dwight mainly to woo her, she brought the worst out of him. It is his relationship with Karen that started to make him grow

Its funny because Jim and Dwight have some friend/enemy relationship while Angela and Pam also have a friend/enemy relationship
Omg I've never thought of this before!!
jim reacting to angela and dwight kills me..hes like confused all the time
I think they might of planned that
Frenemy
And Pam also became Angela's best friend
When you think of it Dwight is the most caring character in the office. He is there for people when they need him. You can also see the pain in his eyes and the tears in his eyes when pam is crying.
It's really out of him and Jim without Jim caring for Michael and dwight the way that he did there jobs and love life would ultimately be in shambles
"Dwight cares for his friends"
Also Dwight: "wants to pull the plug of meridith"
Not just Pam. Remember when Jim sent Dwight a fax as a prank, where he says the coffee is poisoned don't drink it. He sees Stanley about to drink and he runs and tips the mug thinking he saved Stanley. It was legit a funny scene but at the same time it showed how he cared for his coworker's health as well.
Yeah tell that to Prince Paper
That's who he eventually becomes. Early Dwight is arrogant and views himself as a shepherd thanklessly protecting his pathetic flock.
When Pam says "You don't have to stay here" and Dwight just cuts her off and says "I know" and just comforts her while trying to hold back his tears is one of my favorite things about this show.

Dwight, tries to appear like a badass, but in reality he is loyal, misunderstood, a great friend. Like omg the way he comforts Pam-
He's a badass whenever he doesn't try too hard to be one, similar to how Michael Scott is a great boss when he doesn't try too hard to be, i.e. Dwight pepper spraying Roy when he genuinely posed as a threat without showing it off beforehand, or Michael attending Pam's art show cause she asked him to

I think Pam brought out Dwight's softer side more than Angela did.
A few other scenes left out:
1. Pam and Jim leaving a good review of his farm on TripAdvisor after realizing how upset he is over his break-up with Angela.
2. Dwight escorted Pam, Jim, and Michael to the hospital even getting himself pulled over.
3. Dwight redid their kitchen, free of charge, after finding mold.
And Dwight reading Harry Potter for Jim and Pam, despite shooting down the idea earlier.
@@Musicienne-DAB1995 I completely forgot about that one. Great scene!
The scene where Dwight appreciate Pam's drawing on the car is like a mirror to the scene where Michael shows up at Pam's art gallery.
"You are breaking the law."

The scene where tells the documentary crew that he's "Not motivated by compassion" as he smiles at Pam's happiness is such a powerful and loving contrast God I love this show! 😍

When Dwight was being nice because of his concussion, when he walked away from Pams desk he did the little hand thing that Jim does. He tapped it in a little cute way EXACTLY like Jim.
Dwight doesn't get enough appreciation. Most people think he's just some cold aspergic weirdo that has no self awareness, but he's so much more 3D than that.
people underrate how hes also exploited a lot bullied a lot and how much he does for others is understated...
Same for Jim, most people who hate Jim is because “he goofs off and pranks Dwight”
@Diamond & Electric that's because he just wanted to do his average job half heartedly
@rott That’s not true at all. Jim’s central conflict is fighting for what he wants vs. accepting what he thinks he deserves. He demonstrates this in his romantic arc with Pam, but people forget that Jim had a *ton* of growth come from career pursuits & uncertainties the rest of the show. Aside from romance, career is the most prominent device the writers’ use to further his development. Jim went from being indifferent & unconcerned to being professional, hard-working, & a leader. He learned that pursuing his dreams takes sacrifices & better priority management-his complete commitment to his company causes the last major conflict between he & Pam. He went from having no goals for the future, or himself, to wanting something better for himself & wanting to become a better person. By the end of he show, he’s spearheading a successful company & he makes it work. He’s able to follow his dreams. That’s not something Jim would’ve done at the beginning of the show. Jim isn’t my favorite character, nor is he the most developed. Yet saying he had no development apart from relationships is not true. He very clearly developed through career choices & conflicts.
Dwight was my favourite character. One of the best character evolution I have seen so far.
Pam: “Remember your concussion?”

In reality, Dwight would've been fired very early on in the series, haha. Also, personality quirks from many of the characters would never have been tolerated in real social relationships in real life -- part of it is the fantasy and ideal of human compassion, tolerance, and forgiveness.

I once had a friend who reminds me of Dwight. He was so socially unaware and awkward. He had weird ideas. He was so funny, but missunderstood by most people. And he was so intelligent.
When I was with him I felt comfortable. I knew he'd never make any romantic advances. I had a boyfriend (who was also friends with him) and he respected that. On the other hand he told me about the girl he liked, and asked me for advice.

You can tell Dwight really cares about Pam but he doesn’t want to appear weak because of how he was brought up. This is why when he had a concussion, he was openly kind to her. That scene where she says 'I am not an artist, I'm not a sales person then what'd you call it' touches me probably because I am in a similar boat too.
