- Wendi Adelson, the ex-wife of murdered FSU professor Dan Markel, testified in her brother’s murder trial Thursday. Wendi Adelson said her relationship with rocky with Markel and she ultimately chose to end their marriage. She testified that Charlie Adelson never mentioned hiring a hitman to her specifically and if he ever did make such a statement, it was as a joke. Prosecutors believe Charlie Adelson recruited three people to kill Markel so Wendi Adelson could have full custody of the children they had together.

Hey Wendi… If someone killed my husband and I was giving a list of possibilities of who it might be, my brother would be nowhere near that list. I don’t care how many hours I sat with the police I don’t care how terrified I was. My brothers name would never have entered my mind.

Wendi was the one living in close proximity of her ex while her family live nearly 500 miles away, she was the only one that knew Dan schedule due custody arrangements and living nearby. This is how she'll be arrested and convicted, she was the one passing on the Dan's logistics/schedule back to her family.

That isn't what she said. She said she did not know until she got to court that Charlie's defense was that he was making payments to Katie because he was being extorted by the Latin Kings . She’s dating a new guy and her ex husband is fired. She testifies in a juried trial and he didn’t get the job. Can’t be both, sweet Wendi. And that’s the problem.
