If there were alien creatures swimming in Europa’s high-pressure ocean, would they look like glow-in-the-dark jelly blobs, armored squids, or deep-sea critters with superpowers?

Nice episode! Interesting interview at JPL no less. Things I will mind box from this one are the relationship of liquids with life. The science of solar system only propulsion. Also the bit about radiation of Jupiter and the moons, and if life exists the natural immunity to that radiation it must have developed. All great things to think about. Great show as always.
We would have to find the Aliens. They probably watched how we reacted to COVID and this Election and decided we weren't intelligent enough to interact with.
Dinosaurs ARE a very successful branch in the tree of life because birds are part of that branch. Keep in mind that they've been around since that time.
@HedonisticPuritan-mp6xv I would argue if life exists on Europa, Discovery by humans has a lot of downside, for that life. When you think about life, remember, we are life, and the worst thing that could ever happen to Earth is for it to be discovered by a species that is anything like any of the species on Earth.
@@EliNeisler-EdginI would argue that the opposite of humanism is nihilism, and while it may seem that advocating for the non-human life over human life on Earth is a valid ethical approach, I disagree. I think it's just nihilism with another name. Anything that suggests the answer is to get rid of humanity, that's something I can't get behind.
@edwardallenthree Only if for some inexplicable reason we wanted to destroy the only life we would have found outside Earth. I would hope we would take extreme precautions, and we should remember we are the only life we know of capable of rational thought. We can consciously modify our behavior if we choose to attain a goal unrelated to survival, unlike other life.
If a tardigrade got scooped up into the detectors at ridiculous meters per second _(however fast the Clipper's going on approach)_ would it be detected as proof of Life, or just some interesting ingredients...?
It's all fun and interesting for biology but us space engineers and spaceworkers, we want space colony on Titan, where we can endure the atmospheric pressure and fly with a heat-isolated wingsuit. We could both interest technology and biology by going to Titan, not even talking about unlimited access to methane refills.
Well! If the question is are we alone in the universe or maybe multiverse. My answer would be: I don't think so. There's no way earth is the only place that can sustain life with the availability of trillions of trillions stars and planets. Somehow somewhere I believe there is life. There may even be advanced species observing us but only see a prelife earth due to the way light travels. Same way we observe other planets billions of light years away but What we saw is not how the planet currently is because we're observing the past. The only thing we can do is advancing and calculate the time to find out possible or probable future life on that planet.
How do you know the dinosaurs didn't prep the planet so humans etc could live here, and that the same process doesn't happen in other solar systems. Makes more sense.

"life's job in the universe is to accelerate the production of entropy (heat)" what does that mean? That seems like a massive given that isn't explained that I would love to hear more about. Is that assumption based on the actions of life as we observe it on earth, or is it a conceptual "truth" of life's existence in the universe?

How and why are we seeing (light) from a distance past event ??? The light has came into view just noticeably by luck. Now if we are able to get the right distance away from us this light is apart from us as we see it then there has to be an answer for the time before the light was a star using the speed light travels and the time we think the light taken to reach us. So if the time is 100 million light years away then take into consideration the speed the lights been in momentum does the speed the light has been travelling at have an impact in anything nobody knows about yet ???
