For those insisting yoga is necessary for their bodily health, my question is also “Why can’t you simply do stretching exercises? Why must it be yoga?” I can’t help feeling that there is an attachment to the allure of eastern mysticism behind the defensive posturing.

I practised Ashtanga yoga for 35 years and taught for 25 years. Right before I was born again, I experienced the greatest amount of anxiety resulting in panic attacks than ever before! With all the practice and meditation I could never find peace. As soon as I was born again and gave my life over to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I experience peace and joy constantly every single day. Praise be to God for taking me out of the new age!

Namasthê. Please tell the entire word that you wasted 35 years, because of Yôga. You will do a lot of help to us Hindus, demonic Hindus, who want to rid the western world of Yôga. Pity the students who learnt under you for 25 years. If you are a true born again, you would make a sincere effort to trace all the students of the 25 years you played the role of Yôga teacher and tell that Yôga is demonic as you have discovered.
We Hindus defended Yôga, but found the quality of teachers like you to be fake to begin with. after doing Pûrva Paksha, our group decided to support people like you who will do the work for us, Hindus, by you all demonising Yôga. We spend no money in defending Yôga.

@BabySaverServant I understand that it’s very hard to stop doing the practice but I’ve come to believe and feel (ad many other converts) that you just cannot separate the spiritual practice of yoga from the physical…,it’s impossible when each posture is meant to invoke the spirit of the Devi/god/goddess (demon), the animal or even the action (as the Sun Sals are saluting a creation and the warrior series replicate a murder scene…..
Honestly, at first I thought you could separate the two, but I now know you can’t….it was a hard pill to swallow since my practice was not only a huge part of my life but yoga and the practice/lifestyle became my identity….I can only testify to the utter peace and feeling of freedom I have found since stopping the practice and giving my life to Jesus Christ……no anxiety, no anger, no worry, no more need to compete or to “gain”, and daily joy…..and my osteopath says my nervous system is no longer on “high alert” any more, my fascia is moving in places it was locked, ligaments and tendons are releasing…you would think doing ankle grabbing backbends and double legs behind the head would equal more open but, shockingly, the opposite is true!

@BabySaverServant Namasthê. Please don't demean Jesus by using the name Yôga. Name it something else, because if you use the word Yôga, is is appropriation of demonic Hindu thoughts and practices. Yes, I am a demonic Hindu and can live with that appellation given us by Christians (all denominations).
Please ask the clergy, to coin a word.

    • @kellylyn777
      @kellylyn777 Рік тому +26

@BabySaverServant I totally get what you’re saying….and I also thought I could separate the spiritual from the physical but, as I have experienced, you just can’t when you’re doing those postures….I’ve felt the difference….from an oppressive, competitive, “yoked” drive to do the practice and to move deeper/further into each of the Ashtanga series (I was in the middle of the 3rd series) to the freedom that, I believe, comes with not practicing paganism and idolatry through those postures.
It’s definitely been a transition….I was a gymnast before yoga and have tried to use those stretches and strength exercises instead while I’ve added some other great workouts (cardio mostly).
Also, the yoga led me down the wide path of occultism (as it does for most people) and I studied astrology/numerology, became Reiki attuned, started reading Oracle cards for people, practiced Mediumship, studied and became a certified Holistic Healer (did past life regressions/spiritual plane communication/meditation, etc), studied crystal healing, explored ayahuasca and psilocybin growing and ceremony (got some interesting testimonies from those experiences too) and all the while couldn’t find true peace.
I guess we all find our way in our own time, but I do like to share my testimony to anybody that wants to hear it as now I know where true strength and true peace comes from.
I pray for you my friend and thank you for responding and connecting! Peace and love to you! 😊

I grew up Christian and I got into hot yoga as an adult and practiced it for 10 years. I used every excuse to justify doing yoga as a Christian and finally, my heart was convicted when the Holy Spirit revealed the dangers of it. It took almost 3 years for me to quit, I was experiencing a lot of spiritual warfare. Through prayer, I was able to completely detach myself from that world. Thank you for shining a light on this. I know many Christians do yoga and think it’s benign but at it’s core, it is a Hindu practice. Every yoga pose represents worship to a Hindu god. Our God is sovereign. We are to have no other gods before Him.

If a pose gives you a good stretch and you’re doing it for this purpose and not to worship another God I can see it’s a benefit. In fact you can do the same pose and use it to worship the Christian God. At the end of the day it’s your body doing some thing that’s not vulgar or sinful and it’s providing you with some benefit. I think that’s very Christian inherently. Self-care, self preservation, good health. Just put your mind in the right place when you do it. Hasn’t anybody else here experienced physical benefits from yoga quite a part from any Hindu roots?

At one point yoga got me into meditation and that got me into a scary hole that the Lord got me out of quickly. So that encouraged me to do my own research on yoga. After doing a thorough amount the Lord convicted me and I could no longer continue in that practice. This was intense for me. I can relate to almost everything said! I am from Southern California and practiced yoga and was also into the dance arts. Not to say that the dance arts is bad but that I used yoga to help supplement the stretching and exercising. I also struggled with anxiety and was driven away from Christianity in my young adulthood and pursued this idea of spirituality and God being energy and love and growing to attain this non-ego oneness enlightenment. I even started this very cultish Korean energy yoga called Dahnhak and was a huge practitioner visiting their retreat in Sedona many times. Unfortunately, down the road this way of thinking/ being left me open to spiritual warfare. I will stop there because it is almost indescribable but the important thing is that it exposed the truth that demons do exist and lead me to Jesus whom I had written off as another prophet. I repented with all my heart and handed myself over to him completely. He healed me then and told me to follow him. Of course, forever. But, it was still a long road of healing. I loved what she said about being so hungry for knowledge but how it pushed the bad out. The first person I spoke with on my worst horrific day was a Monsignor and he told me the difference with spirituality and Christianity is that "spiritual" people try to empty themselves while Christians want to completely fill themselves with the Holy Spirit. All of this happened a year ago and I should institutionalized after what I went through and the nervous breakdown I had afterwards and being filled with fear. I had no foundation and crumbled completely like a house of cards. Jesus has become my complete foundation. Even today I realized that he is constantly holding me up because he is my foundation and without him I would be back to where I was last year. But, he got me baptized in the Catholic Church, got me the best job I have ever had that pays way more than I ever have before, I'm living in this beautiful house 3 minutes from my church when last year I was a vagabond traveler, and I am discerning becoming a nun. There is nothing I want more than to be so close to Jesus now. He took me in like that and has been healing me ever since. I am even off my anti-depressants already. If anyone wants to encounter Jesus in the most intense way, go to Adoration at a Catholic Church and just sit with the Eucharist for one hour. You will see. The powerful and tangible spirituality the Catholic Church has is mind blowing. Because I have a spiritual sensitivity, my experiences are much more than most that have been Catholics all their lives. Plus, my hunger to learn everything about it brings me amazing gifts.
Also, during the part where she says how she goes to the church and everything suddenly clicked, I had to yell out a "Hallelujah" in my living room with tears in my eyes while holding my hand in the air towards the San Damiano Cross over my fireplace. My dogs thought I was nuts. I had the same experience on my worst day but after talking to the Monsignor I immediately put the radio in my vehicle on a Christian station and everything being preached and sung suddenly made absolute sense! I only listen to Christian radio stations and really don't listen to mainstream music anymore. It sounds so soulless now. Also, I have gotten a little too chubby living here in Texas now and want to get back into the gym. I was the same way about yoga. After all of the horror, I didn't want to touch it and saw it all as a slippery slope back to evil. But, my gym had a very non-spiritual yoga class I thought I'd do just for exercise, lengthening, and breathing. But, what she said in the video even about the poses meaning something made so much sense! So, now it is a big huge no for me. I'll follow Jesus's health plan instead: Walking, fasting, and praying.

Yoga is an over 5000 year old practise and doesn't in and of itself have anything to do with New Age. It is if so, rather the "New Age Movement" that has adopted it as part of their practises, not the other way around. And all this paranoid nonsense is quite literally spiritually ridiculous, at best! 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I used to really want to be a yoga teacher. I had worked low paying jobs rife with abuse for years, have always been interested in wellness & fitness & thought getting certified as a yoga teacher was a logical way out of the dead end job cycle. I pursued this goal for over a decade but l could never raise the $5000 for the course or secure a 9-5 job necessary to be available for the Friday night/all day Saturday and Sunday classes. (Which demonstrates how elitist the certification process is, but that's another matter.) Now l see that l dodged a bullet because, among other problems teaching yoga would have raised, l would have encouraged the worship of the self both in myself & my students. God knew what he was doing when he kept me from succeeding in this goal. (Wonderful guest by the way! What an intelligent, knowledgeable & articulate young lady. Im not an expert in YOGA at all , never have done it , but i do practice meditation ,whenever i can to quiet my mind , because life is usually busy and training your mind you just become quieter whenever you want it can be extremely useful for concentration and for easing your tensions and extremely powerful ,for recharge your energies. Just something as simple and to sit on normal chair for 5 minutes and have deep breathing exercises can make a major difference and recharge your body.. Is not recommended to do it before going to sleep , because you will not longer sleep , if fully restored in energies. I also christian too.. And even though , never done Yoga , i can assure you ,
there is nothing to fear at all , about doing any mistakes.. if it was at all...there is a major missundestanding by Christians ,by Hindus , by All other organized religions you can name ,and also by Non religious movements too , and by New Age spiritual movements too.. missunderstandings about What Jesus really teach and promoted.. versus what Christians religions actually teach. In other words ,Jesus is much better than the organized religions created on his name . Say in other way , ,Jesus teachings and christianity as people know it , is not necessarily the same thing.
So will give you an example.. about what's the problem. Imagine @IRIS.. that you were a Major Dancer , who dance for a living. And you want to teach people how to dance , the you travel the world and create studios ,with your name , and while you are alive ,you teach people how to dance and is very successful.. But when no longer you are in this world , those that you put in charge of those studios ,instead of following your practices ,
of what you teach.. those managers ,that were supposed to teach people how to dance , what you wanted ,decide instead , to use the studios to worship you , to do tribute every week about your person. And additionally , the people in charge of your founded studios , hire Dancers ,that dance totally different and how you wanted people to do it. So this is the problems with organized Christian religions today.. and also others religions too.
Organized religions is more about control of population , using FEAR as a weapon of control you , don't do this or that because you will burn in fire for eternity.. Jesus never said anything like that. Jesus spoke ALL THE TIME.. about an un-conditional loving father, about forgiving those who try to chase you and harm you . IF you focus ONLY
in Jesus direct teachings ,in the bible ,the 4 gospels of Jesus.. you will see a pattern , of how Jesus repeated AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIn to NOT FEAR , to have no Doubts ,
To have unconditional love and TRUST in GOD , no matter how difficult things looks to be.
That by your Faith you will be saved. [Luke 7:50] .. Christianity as told by Jesus ,was all about developing an Unconditional love and Trust for GOD that doesn't wave. This unconditional trust ,Jesus called it Faith that move mountains. you could do anything. Jesus also told a LOT ,
something that is ignored frequently.. Jesus told.. TO NOT JUDGE.. That is to not put labels ,
on people or things.. like good /evil , Judgements create separation , between you and that other person or thing. Jesus was more for Unifying humanity , not about dividing . Reason why Jesus teach a lot forgiveness too. I advice you ,to check the book of Conversations with GOd..book1 , on youtube it will explain you what Jesus real message was, but that mosst people don't pay attention. and so Organized institutions , most of what they do is Worship the figure of jesus and the bible , but do not actually explain you ,that Salvation comes by your Faith , by your unconditional trust , unconditional love for GOD ,that Jesus was representing. And when you really Trust in someone , you know that person will not abandon you , and leave you alone ,when you more need it.. even if you mistakes . Good parents /or good friends are those that will support you no matter what mistakes you do , But if people can do that that are imperfect , and stand with you in good times and bad times ,imagine how much more God and Jesus could do? So you should never fear about GOD response for anything you did ,specially if you did not knew what it was. Life is a school and we are not born with a clear manual of what to do all the time. So if i was you , ill seek for alternative opinions about Yoga from Christians , so you get more points of view .However i really advice you ,to read a book with title [Conversations with GOD , book 1 ,by neal donald walsch..] , is online posted in youtube for free, it will explain you all this and a lot more. Specially how to easy learn to differentiate what Messages that comes from God or not. and how to know when you know.. And understand what works for you or not. and perhaps you can ask Directly God to explain you if Yoga is good for you or not. IF you believe God can respond to your direct questions , then it will happen to the same degree that you believe. IF you ask for prayers , is because you have doubts , about GOD.. Instead just learn to develop a relationaship with GOD... the best prayers are those of thanks giving for life ,and to be thankful everyday for all the things you appreciate in your life.

While this is utterly rubbishy understanding, we Hindus can use your understanding to denounce Yôga in the west. There is nothing called Hot Yôga and that is a money making invention by unscrupulous teachers. Yôga âsanâs are about conserving energy, not sweating it out in a hot environment.

Yoga means "yoked with demons," and "we cannot drink of the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too." When I was 16 way back in 1971, I went through a severe trial with a mother who had become demon possessed from working the Ouija board (which I had turned away from, and refused to work with her).
I suffered a great deal at her hands, but it caused me to search for God. I had been an atheist, but my eyes were opened that if there's an evil force, there has to be a good force. I first read the Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita, but came up empty. There was nothing there, so then I went to a YMCA yoga class. We sat there in the lotus position with our fingers making the triple 6 illuminati hand gesture, chanting "Ohm," and the most overwhelming feeling of horror came over me. I knew it was wrong, and I got up and left. When I was 17 someone told me to read the book of John, and I then read all 4 Gospels in a row, and became a believer in Jesus Christ. I'm 68 now, there have been many struggles with the forces of darkness, but greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world!!!

We Love such great testimonials. Only trouble is that several universities in the west have copies of Bhagavad-Gîta the empty book (as you describe it, having no substance) and the next step is to tell these western universities to burn their copies. We Hindus will be perfectly happy to see this done.
We Hindus never expect non-Hindus to follow Hinduism. Hinduism never proselytize like Christ Mary related religions.

This is so fundamental to understand. As someone who was a new ager, yoga was part of my lifestyle. When I came to Christ in my 20's i repented to the lord because I understood how deceptive and not of God . I also burnt all my new age books and things. It was an incredible step of faith and liberating as well as a full step of commitment to my new life in Christ. There is much confusion today and it is in the church, sadly. I had been practicing yoga on and off at a local studio in my town for years and had always been unnerved at the large Buddha that would greet you at the entry as well as the alter and deities on the walls. One day a friend asked me too go with a gentle “restorative” yoga class with her and while doing the chavasina at the end of class I looked over and my eyes fixated on the Hindu wall art and I felt the Lord speak to my heart in no uncertain terms “shalt have NO other gods before me- this is worship!” I knew from that day forward I could never go again. My power, protection and guidance comes from Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, NOT from myself (as we were being told in yoga class). I was laying on the yoga mat saying the Lords Prayer while they were chanting. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I’m still good friends with the lady who invited me to yoga (she’s a Christian), but that was my first and last yoga class. I got dressed and got everything set up and went to cast one of the “holy” yoga instructor videos off of you tube. The instructor was supposed to have a lot of videos, I knew her personal name and business name. I searched and searched for 10 or 15 minutes and I became so frustrated that I couldn’t find her videos. I then cried out to God, why, why can’t I find her videos. I then heard the holy spirit say, clearly, yoga is not holy and it is not of me. I thank the Lord and praise his holy name for bringing me out of yoga. Yoga has been nothing more than a physical practice for me, close to physical therapy. I never did it to seek enlightenment or spiritual awakening. I do stick with the same teacher so there are no “surprises” that I’m wouldn’t be comfortable with. I’m in the Word daily and have been sober for decades.
I also do Pilates. There are downward dogs, planks and child’s poses in that practice as well. I’ve watched some of the “alternatives” on UA-cam and they look pretty much the same as what I do. Very similar movements.
So..to each his own. If it’s a sin to you, don’t do it. As for me, until an alternative appears that works as well, I’m going to continue on. It beats being confined to my bed , unable to drive and fighting with the insurance company about paying for Botox injections.

I don’t want my children partaking in Halloween stuff so every year I have a friendly talk at parent teacher conferences to let the teacher know my child will need another activity and to please not single them out about it. I’ve never had push back. I’m not trying to change the school or change their beliefs and I’m friendly about it. I also send an email to sum up the convo. Send a note and a phone call stating your child will need accommodations for a different activity than yoga and that’s all. 😊

those are great ways to bring ppl over to catholicism but the way the pope had so many Christians in the beginning of catholicism is by ordering death to men, woman and children, killing any priest/tess, teacher , anyone who knew the old language, taught the old ways of religion, basically had any and everything not catholic wiped out. ruled with fear and continues to rule with fear. that's why archeologists and ppl are finding all these old scriptures, stories and tablets bc they were deliberately buried bc ppl's lives and their families lives were at stake if they didn't choose to practice catholicism. that's not what free will, love and free choice is about. what kind of religion hides and protects child rapist, pedophiles, pedophilia, rape, murder, lies, enslavement of civilizations and all while saying they are the one true religion? I'm not making any of this up, its all in the Bible eventhough the Bible is a man made made up book. not saying that there isn't something out here that's a higher power that embellishes love, life, happiness, peace and tranquility bc I do believe there is, I just have done alot of research and now know why even as a child I had alot of questions about this religion and actually reading and not being bias I know now that catholicism isn't it.

Back in the 90s, I took a lot of yoga classes and considered being a teacher. At the time, I was a catholic and the yoga instructor would chant at the end of the class while we were in "corpse" pose. I felt very uncomfortable with the chanting and would quietly take my mat and leave until one night she whispered for me to stay. I did and as people were walking out, she asked me why I always left and I told her my religious background. She smirked and waved me away, I never returned to her or any other yoga class again. I found their messaging a bit insidious; how each pose corresponded with organs, etc. Then the Bikram scandal happened and I was so glad that God protected me and I was out of that environment.

I had some anxiety and told his acting friend that I was stressed out. His friend said, "My friend can teach you to meditate!" I was thinking, oh that's great, I just want to clear out my thoughts and find peace. But when we went for the meditation lesson, it was Bhakti Yoga! [Not ISKON but a splinter group]. We thought that if Bhakti Yoga had a tagline, it would be "24/7 loving devotional service to God," but now (as a born-again Christian looking back), I see that it was 100% works. I was doing "asana" yoga, too, trying to get rid of my stress and anxiety, but it never went away until I was saved in 2006. There's so much more to our story (my husband and I were saved at the same time)! If you ever write a book or another essay on this subject, I would love to be a case study; I can share more with you. Rae, you are a BRIGHT LIGHT in this world. I pray that people listen to what you share, turn away from the dangerous practice of yoga (and Eastern-based philosophies of karma and reincarnation); turn towards the Light and the Life, Jesus Christ; and get into a Bible-based church to be in a healthy community of believers following Christ together! Yoga is so addictive. I had to pray and pray to get out of it, because I wouldn't believe anything negative about it. God's answer after weeks of praying for an answer was scaring me out of it with the most frightening sleep paralysis experience after I'd done loads of 'Christian yoga' that day. My story won't convince anybody else - it could have been coincidence and the sleep paralysis just physical, but the moment I called out to Jesus in my mind, it disappeared, and I immediately knew the connection with the yoga I'd been doing. Only after that I discovered the testimony of Mike Shreve, a former yoga teacher. There's a back-bend routine on UA-cam I still sometimes crave, but I'm never going back again. It was way too scary.

      Simply curious.
I have never heard anyone say that before.( I have never practiced it before.)
I am sorry you experienced the Sleep paralysis thing.
So, you think messing with the Yoga called those things to come in?
Sometimes people see things, and other times they just experience the powerlessness of lack of movement against their will. Sometimes it happens repeatedly. I really feel for the victims of it.
Very wise of you to call on Jesus in your mind. Smart girl. Some people do not know that his name has power because of his authority and suffer unwittingly. His name is so powerful!
      Glad u got free.
      Mike Shreve huh?
I will have to look that up.
My old Church's child worship was offering yoga for the kids to practice per the independent adult leadership looking after my child along with her daughter. My daughter told me this when I came to get her, and I asked the lady what was up with that. She defended it. ( This was in the house of Yahweh/Jesus on a Sunday, mind you, and without my permission. But I have trained my daughter since birth basically to reject and never practice meditation or yoga anywhere, and with anyone, and have had to fight off school and have her sit outside in the hall when they did it in elementary. It is everywhere.)
Needless to say, I got the pastor involved, and I was so shocked when this Assemblies of GOD pastor agreed it was ok, no worries, "it is only exercise, and you are wrong and making a big deal out of nothing". I couldn't believe a pastor of the Christian faith could be so ignorant of basic Hinduism/Idolatry/Paganism!
Well, then it got superheated. I was PISSED! We left after several years of worship there until that one Sunday, which was her first day transitioning into the bigger kids program from the little people program in the nursery too! He preached the sermon to us about not letting the world influence the house of God + our lives!

"Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you might prove what the Will of God is that which is Good, acceptable and perfect" THAT IS EXCACTLY WHAT YOGA IS IT IS YOKING YOU, CONFORMING YOU by emptying your mind cutting you off from the will and knowledge of God.

I am so thankful to hear this today; I am in a holistic health program online, and they have encouraged us to do yoga. I am a Christian and it has been confusing to me about what to do and you just gave me so much clarification today. Thank you both so much. Your sister in Christ, Anita.

Basically 🧘‍♂️ came from aruvedic medicine. As far as joint & muscle pain, it's helped me more than any doctors. If physical therapy can do it, so can yoga.

Yoga = good exercise. Yoga is not a religion. Stop fear mongering. Good health can bring you closer to God.

I am a yoga teacher and I’m a Christian. I teach the asanas and pranayama as a relaxation technique and a way to connect to your inner self, and that brings you closer to God if you believe in one. I don’t work-ship any Hindu Gods or Goddesses. I don’t chant I believe when we learn and accept ourselves as well as others we become better human beings and become more tolerant in a world where we need more peace. I have students from all religions and I respect them.
Yoga has helped me be more relaxed, help me anxiety and even a little depression. If you love Jesus nothing will take you away from him. It’s just like other practices like Karate, tai chi or other modalities that are rooted on different religions.

Guys, I listen to the video I think that they don't know anything about it. Also, the lady is just talking about her understanding. I am Christian. I feel sad about myself because I just discover the passing of Yoga 2 years ago. Yoga and all the Hindu mythology of God have helped me in my personal life and be more Christian. Also to do better in my Job as a TCM practitioner . Now looking forward to visiting India.

Thanks Rae. You have such a calming spirit. I did yoga weekly with a friend for 2 years and never really liked it. I went with her as a support. I did not enjoy the chanting and the verbal participation. It never felt comfortable or relaxing. It hurt my joints and it was painful all 2 yrs. Now learning about the dangers of it, I see why my spirit never connected to it.

Blah blah blah. Keep your jesus. Hinduism makes you face the demons within, and that is very uncomfortable! Hinduism forces you to be responsible rather than handing over things to some God. Yes it can be very uncomfortable to face yourself, look yourself in the mirror, face your karma. It is not for the lazy. What sone do, is not yoga!!!! For yoga, you get up at 4am, do pancha kryia cleansing process, recite a mantra and do your asanas. ALL THIS IS DONE BY TRUE HINDUS 90 MINUTES BEFORE SUNRISE. DID YOU EAT SATVIK FOOD ONLY? NO!!!

Well, among the other things a Christian shouldn't do but they did it (crusades, slavery, spreading the good word among the pagans through extermination by biowarfare and genocide, holocaust, to name a few) yoga should not be ranked that highly. 🤓

Thank you for sharing this deeply insightful conversation. I grew up around my mothers Hindu family, but with my Christian dad as well. My dad told me from a young age there was only one God, and that always stuck with me as I explored various religions and yoga, etc. After experiencing so much spiritual warfare and finally settling in my faith in God, I understand these concepts more deeply and more clearly now. Your video has given me new tools to further express my understanding of this. Thank you 🙏🏼 God bless.
