It's surprisingly simple. Basically, it functions like a bubble blower, but it's plasma instead of soap, and it's blowing those bubbles at a dangerously high rate. A bubble blower for dwarves. At least that's what some scouts call it.
I always loved the impact deflection mod for just bouncing bullets under grunts and hitting some larger enemies twice. Shooting spitballers at the top of their center weakpoint hits them again on their chin(?), shooting trijaws right under their jaws will hit them twice, and shooting the legs on praetorians can be used to hit them in the face or abdomen. Hitting prae's twice is more difficult but can be controlled much easier while they are spitting. It's so satisfying to hit these specific points and watch the health bars melt at double the speed.
Impact Delfection is so satisfying to use, I totally get you. I remember when it used to bounce twice and could kill praetorians in seconds, those were good days.

I'm fairly sure that gas recycling OC for zhuks does not disable the weakpoint damage bonus. It actually just takes away all the bonus percentage you get from one of the T4 mods and the innate increased weakpoint damage modifier that these guns have.
Excellent, you’ve got one last primary left just in time for management to approve the new secondary weapon contracts we’ve been trying to get pushed through. Oh, wait. Nevermind, that’s not great news. That means more training videos on your end. Ah well, you know what they say “If you’re working hard, you’re hardly working. Oh, and a tip. DO NOT GIVE THE HURRICANE TO ANY GUNNER WEARING A TEN GALLON HAT (especially if they’ve had any booze)! They _will_ try to make a “rocket lasso” They _will_ test it on you. You _will_ get hit by a bunch of missiles.
I gotta be OOC for this one, i like the little dialogue you include after each of these. It's fun and a neat way for characters from previous videos like Lookie or BET-C to show up again. That being said, you think someone tweaked BET-C onboard AI ?
@@siirvend yeah, come to think of it. Has R&D thought to redo bet-c ? The concept i mean, i am willing to bet they haven't found neither neme or BET-C yet. Maybe lookie but they'll probably brush him off seeing he's just a simple lok1 rife some engi left behind
How do you film smooth rotating shots like the one at 0:53? Even using a controller I've never been able to get something that looks that good, and I really want to figure out how to basically "orbit" an object at a consistent speed (which I haven't been able to do with Better Spectator since I can't get a controller to work with that).
So I use a program called Unreal Unlocker to take the view camera out anywhere. It let's you preset speeds and these particular shots were done with the slow speed camera rotating and panning at the same time in opposite directions.
Huh. Got a weird sense of satisfaction when reaching the Electroplasma Loophole section and finding out that it's the *exact* main build I use for Scout. When it works, I guess!
I gotta say, I absolutely love SSB on my Drak, I take it to pretty much every mission when I play Scout. It honestly performs so well against all kinds of enemies from my experience. I do, however, pair it with the Embedded Detonator Zhukovs to kill big bois quickly. Some would say going full balls to the wall with DPS is a bad idea, but it's been working out for me so far. Anyhow, the build I currently use for the SSB Drak is 22212 iirc. I might switch to manual heat dump based on this video, though.
Ah yes, just as I want to change my Hoverclock m1000 to a more challenging primary, ROCK, AND STONE BROTHER! Also don't forget of dose of warming skits at the last of the video, always an additional add-on to this masterpiece of the vid!
15:21 actually they changed that to 6 in one of the patches in season 2, as well as some stuff with the new secondaries. was it you or was it me that forgot?
In the end I ended up with DRAK in pair with crossbow. For me the best one was Rewiring mod "Fire and don´t care when to stop" - didn´t need ammo for long time, maybe even longer than others. So this guide helped me immensly - again :) Thanks! Are you planning to do X-Bow builds, too?
Small mistake I noticed: at 3:58, the video showed the mod config 3,2,3,3,1. However, you stated that the mod config was 1,2,3,3,1. (I think this is the mod config you meant since the faster fire rate will help you reach overheat quicker)
Yeah I saw that and facepalmed. Good things is that either mod in tier 1 works so it's not a huge deal. I'll be correcting that in a future video for sure
This video was a long time coming, it seems - the lack of complimentary Crossbow secondaries is acute. I've seen people pointing out down below how priceless Pheromone bolts are for both Bouncy and Venting Drak builds, and I must point out myself that Rewiring Drak is the only gun that I can reasonably pair with Trifork Valley X-80. Keep swarms at bay with long bursts and delet everything that stands afterwards. The main question I have, though, is about Shield Battery Booster. I've been using it for quite a while and noticed that the amount of time Manual Heat Dump shaves off your shield recharge delay is different at times. Sometimes it behaves just as That Goddamn Scout™ advertised: shield recharge begins immediately after DRAK cools down, and sometimes it...doesn't. It takes a few seconds still to begin, just like in the clip you used to showcase the mechanic in this very video. Do you have any info on why is that so? I've seen several claims that it's a bug and LazyMaybe is far too busy to confirm or deny that.
I have no idea about the SBB inconsistencies to he honest. I've successfully reduced my recharge times enough to want to use manual health dump but occasionally it janks out and gives me 9 seconds instead. I know taking damage at any point does reset it so I avoid that but my only best guess is that there's some timing things going on with the shield and overheat where it might apply the cool down and shield damage at different times, sometimes overlapping favorably and other times not. As for the crossbow, I do plan to give it the attention I deserves but as it's own video rather than squeezed into this one. I do take my time with build videos, but this is because things change a lot after weapon changes qnd it also takes me a bit to find what I prefer to bring with me on missions. Every one of these builds are the ones I use frequently so I'm confident in showing them off because it's what I found feels good/works. I'm juuust about there with the boltshark too.
It does do regular weakpoint damage, just no bonus. I've realized this after the fact but at very least that just means they do more damage than I initially thought!
It was the reserve, it was clean but was made into a balanced OC due to the insane dps is was capable of with plasma splash. Not a huge dow side really. Nobody has updated the wiki on it yet though
My first unstables where tri bolt for the boltshark and the shield link, so i had the big think, and used them both and never had SO much fun playing scout, i'm not the glass cannon anymore, i'm a glass nuke, just delete anything with the drak and if i really REALLY don't want something alive the boltshark deletes it
Gonna be honest, I don’t much care for this weapon, but the fact that it’s been nerfed so much, and the AR is _still_ the weaker of the two says a lot. I’m still addicted to the M1000 though, the percussive shots, the satisfying reload, the powerful individual shots that reward marksmanship… Spewing plasma is nice and all, but a handheld rail-gun in the shape of an M1 Garand is just too good to pass up.
@@siirvend that being said… I’m definitely trying out the rewire mod, now that I have it. Your build for it sounds really good, and I’ll run it with the new bodkin point crossbow, see how it works.
Did you copy my build (chelicerae breaker) ? I use that exact carbine setup + the same overclock for the zukov duo pistols AND the cry grenades! Am I being watched? Tbf impact deflation is the only oc I have for the carbine
OPA has better per shot damage but worse accuracy so it's more for close range fighting. It's much better for dreadnoughts since you're likely taking damage and in the things face. SBB has better fire rate for full shields and is more accurate so you can proc electricity quickly and laser bugs from longer distances while you're keeping sage distance from swarms. I like SBB for point extraction since the caves tend to be ideal for its optimal conditions.
Here to algo boost, ROCK AND STONE, and how to roll this gun, will edit when I finish Edit: just realized how much effort goes into one of these when I saw none of your builds used the crossbow, because it wasn’t in game yet! I feel that DRAK OC with short range and wide spread would pair nicely with it, both extending effective range and allowing for either explosive or pheromone darts for AOE cleanup. Besides that, I feel the secondaries you chose are likely still best in many cases?
I wouldnt say my choices of secondary are best in all cases, though each of these are strong contenders even with the new angles the boltshark has on fights. The future builds will include the boltshark in some straight up improvements on older builds and some brand new ones utilizing it and a primary made to support it (i.e. electric reload on gk2) The short range high damage DRAK you mentioned (preferably with OPA OC) pairs so well with the bolshark, I can't wait to talk about it
I dont even use the drak and am not going to either. But i still love your videos because you are just so in character. "Wait, whats reddit?". Amazing lmao. Btw are you still gonna do that glyphid biology video? Just curious

Do you know all of this bug exterminating is making me wonder what the tamed bugs think mentioning that are you gonna do a informational video on that?
Id assume it works the same way the pheromone grenades work, using olfactory signals to confuse the bug into seeing you as something it needs to follow/protect. Invertebrates like Glyphids really have no use for concepts like allegiance, they simply follow the rest of the hive through chemical signals like how ants and bees do here.

@@siirvend I thought that it was elimination. I do remember that you fell somewhere and it was just outside of a BET-C’s activation radius lol.
Oh yeah you're right, I landed well within her 10 meter detection radius so I have no idea how I avoided that lol
This was AWESOME, and I'm definitely subbing for this.
I'm fairly sure that gas recycling OC for zhuks does not disable the weakpoint damage bonus. It actually just takes away all the bonus percentage you get from one of the T4 mods and the innate increased weakpoint damage modifier that these guns have.
Youre definitely right, I had been misreading the OC text and thought it meant zero weakpoint damage at all haha
Get back to it.”
Seriously though, we always enjoy these. Thanks for making them entertaining.
Oh, and a tip. DO NOT GIVE THE HURRICANE TO ANY GUNNER WEARING A TEN GALLON HAT (especially if they’ve had any booze)!
They _will_ try to make a “rocket lasso”
They _will_ test it on you.
You _will_ get hit by a bunch of missiles.
Great vid man, learned alot!
Ayyy thanks!
Great timing, video got posted right as i was shitsing
glad to be of assistance
Nice video I really like the kind of story telling like in this form of “role playing”
Been looking forward to this!
Yes! Another episode from Sirvend!
I gotta be OOC for this one, i like the little dialogue you include after each of these. It's fun and a neat way for characters from previous videos like Lookie or BET-C to show up again. That being said, you think someone tweaked BET-C onboard AI ?
I think she's actually able to learn more than previously thought, she's just exposed to new stimuli and had a lot of time to process it now.
Better yet, do we know if neme has an onboard AI similar to BET-C
@@fongjasper8206 I assume it does, it seems to say things that indicate ignorance at least partially aware of itself and its surroundings
@@siirvend sorry to bother you, but how's lookie lately
Great analysis!
Very nice intro. It sound so what deep core munition would do
5 crossbow builds that will get to the point
Before I thought the Drak was a peashooter. Now I realize I just have bad builds
It's honestly hard to get feeling good at first, especially early on since it has low damage per shot but damn is it a shredder when you use it right
1:36 "carbean"
Hey, that is one way to.say it lol
How do you film smooth rotating shots like the one at 0:53? Even using a controller I've never been able to get something that looks that good, and I really want to figure out how to basically "orbit" an object at a consistent speed (which I haven't been able to do with Better Spectator since I can't get a controller to work with that).
So I use a program called Unreal Unlocker to take the view camera out anywhere. It let's you preset speeds and these particular shots were done with the slow speed camera rotating and panning at the same time in opposite directions.
@@siirvend Oh wow that sounds amazing, I'll definitely check that out!
As usual: a good mix of info and usefull builds. Keep it up, sir
``excited dwarf noises``
I have missed these
I like how you conveniently cut away after freezing yourself with your own cryo.
You should see what I do with the new grenades haha
@@siirvend lol. Can't wait to try them out!
Thank you, I now know what oc I need to use for my medic scout loadout
Glad you help!
WOOOO, Another vid!
0:50 it still costs more than what we dwarves earn yearly
Gotta get on those haz 5 assignments ay?
Ah yes, just as I want to change my Hoverclock m1000 to a more challenging primary, ROCK, AND STONE BROTHER!
Also don't forget of dose of warming skits at the last of the video, always an additional add-on to this masterpiece of the vid!
The Drak-25 made playing Scout enjoyable again for me!
0:25 RnD is not pleased by that statement
now R&D just needs to make some new support "Weapons". Great vid as always.
I'll take a look here. Been struggling to find a good drak build. So far been running Thermal Exhaust Feedback 31212, and CryoMinelet 13132
Reminds me of the time mine blew up in my hands! I was fine, somehow our driller got 8th degree burns on that mission… eh, things happen I guess
15:21 actually they changed that to 6 in one of the patches in season 2, as well as some stuff with the new secondaries. was it you or was it me that forgot?
Oh yeah, I made this before those changes and by Karl I'm glad they did cause this OC kicks ass
Yes, the Drak 25 Plasma Car Bean
Vehicular Beans are my favorite weapon type.
I’d like my gloves melted, thanks
Yes!
*insert Star Wars "more!" meme*
Invest in DRAK coin
HOW DO YOU PEOPLE KEEP CONTACTING ME
In the end I ended up with DRAK in pair with crossbow. For me the best one was Rewiring mod "Fire and don´t care when to stop" - didn´t need ammo for long time, maybe even longer than others.
So this guide helped me immensly - again :) Thanks!
Are you planning to do X-Bow builds, too?
Definitely will be doing a video on the Bolt Shark!
Small mistake I noticed:
at 3:58, the video showed the mod config 3,2,3,3,1.
That’s a lot of wormhole specials
I had a lot of places to be
i had to watch the build numbers for the rewire like 12 times. you show 3 when saying 1.
i'm very confused
Yeah that was a mistake with the footage, I meant to have 1 equipped.
15:29 I thought it only took away the plus %15 weak point damage and you would still do extra damage on a grunts head?
It does do regular weakpoint damage, just no bonus. I've realized this after the fact but at very least that just means they do more damage than I initially thought!
@@siirvend Thanks for clearing that up! I was rather confused.
Thermal exhaust and jumbo shells is a god killer
ohhh yes, the MAXIMUM HURT set up haha
I can highly recommend the heat HUD mod around the cursor too for the PC players.
Yes definitely, i use it too, I just omitted it in the video for simplicitys sake. It helps so much with timings
Impact Deflection has been made into a clean OC..... so the build Doesn't change but the caveat the OC had is no more
It was the reserve, it was clean but was made into a balanced OC due to the insane dps is was capable of with plasma splash. Not a huge dow side really.
Nobody has updated the wiki on it yet though
R&D really just needs to make it bounce twice like it says would be wonderful
My first unstables where tri bolt for the boltshark and the shield link, so i had the big think, and used them both and never had SO much fun playing scout, i'm not the glass cannon anymore, i'm a glass nuke, just delete anything with the drak and if i really REALLY don't want something alive the boltshark deletes it
Trifork Volley is so much fun to spike stuff with, I feel you
oh no...LOK and BET-C are plotting together
I live in constant fear
I saw the thumbnail and wondered why Montgomery Gator had a gun
OH now I see it lol
@@siirvend lol
Gonna be honest, I don’t much care for this weapon, but the fact that it’s been nerfed so much, and the AR is _still_ the weaker of the two says a lot.
I’m still addicted to the M1000 though, the percussive shots, the satisfying reload, the powerful individual shots that reward marksmanship…
Spewing plasma is nice and all, but a handheld rail-gun in the shape of an M1 Garand is just too good to pass up.
Different strokes and all that!
@@siirvend that being said… I’m definitely trying out the rewire mod, now that I have it. Your build for it sounds really good, and I’ll run it with the new bodkin point crossbow, see how it works.
Oops, just found a new favorite build.
can i...can i finally find a use for this unwealming capacitor at last?
Ah, the almost infinite ammo gun
what a great channel
Do you mind sharing the names of your weapon frameworks? I'm still greenbeard so I can't recognize all of them just by the icon
Oh yeah, do you have any specific ones you want the names of?
@@siirvend the only one I recognize is the rival tech one, so any of the others!
In order they are:
Builders Choice
Rival Tech
Fourth Relic
Neon Band
Custom Engineered
@@siirvend thanks so much!! Rock and Stone!!
Rock & Stone!
Did you copy my build (chelicerae breaker) ?
I use that exact carbine setup + the same overclock for the zukov duo pistols AND the cry grenades!
Am I being watched?
Tbf impact deflation is the only oc I have for the carbine
You are under constant comprehensive supervision while on the space rig. Do not be alarmed.
I dont see a reason to run OPA when SBB exists, isnt the damage the same when at full shields?
OPA has better per shot damage but worse accuracy so it's more for close range fighting. It's much better for dreadnoughts since you're likely taking damage and in the things face. SBB has better fire rate for full shields and is more accurate so you can proc electricity quickly and laser bugs from longer distances while you're keeping sage distance from swarms. I like SBB for point extraction since the caves tend to be ideal for its optimal conditions.
@@siirvend oh gotcha, thank you so much! I’ll definitely try the OC now
Wait, is the DRAK actually deepcore? I didn't see anything about the manufacturer
I didn't either, just kinda worked that into a headcannon since its a mass produced model
@@siirvend oh okay, I've been nerding on lore lately so I wanted to verify lol. Thanks for the videos lad, rock and stone.
You beautiful dwarv !
Here to algo boost, ROCK AND STONE, and how to roll this gun, will edit when I finish
Edit: just realized how much effort goes into one of these when I saw none of your builds used the crossbow, because it wasn’t in game yet!
The future builds will include the boltshark in some straight up improvements on older builds and some brand new ones utilizing it and a primary made to support it (i.e. electric reload on gk2)
The short range high damage DRAK you mentioned (preferably with OPA OC) pairs so well with the bolshark, I can't wait to talk about it
What promotion rank is that scout? Don’t recognize the border
Oh thats legendary 3, I just use a mod that makes the promotions have vaporwave colors. You can find it in the description
can you make a hurricane build vid thanks, ROCK AND STONE
On it now actually
I dont even use the drak and am not going to either. But i still love your videos because you are just so in character. "Wait, whats reddit?". Amazing lmao.
Btw are you still gonna do that glyphid biology video? Just curious
That's the plan, I wanna do it once I'm done with weapons, grenades and missions which can hopefully be faster now that I've got a bit more time to work on them.
Also glad you like it!
@@siirvend Im really into the lore of the game so if i could help with that in any way i gladly will. Either by looking trough the wiki or just giving personal ideas or speculation. Its gonna be a while till that video comes out considering what your current planning so i got plenty of time to at least do something
Holy. I forgot that people actually use UI in this game. Uh. HP bars what are those?
So does this video cover the mod io Weapon Heat Crosshair mod?
Wait, did I have that on in one of the clips? I do use that, it helps quite a bit in timing overheats. I just turn it off for recording in case it's ever not available
@@siirvend Nope it's just really nice. That said ended up getting a to a build I like
OPA 21112, Cryo 13112, Zip 1113, CryoNade, Vampire, Thorn, Born Ready, Iron Will, Field Medic
The trick was focusing on using Freezes to stretch the ammo pool of an OPA Drak.
the gas recycleing should give a 500% damage vs armor
Its a bit sad to see no example of the crossbow in this video. I'd say it pairs well as a long range option for the unstable overclock build.
Actually wrote this script before the boltshark came out, but it's getting its own dedicated video since it works with so many combinations of primaries
Do you know all of this bug exterminating is making me wonder what the tamed bugs think mentioning that are you gonna do a informational video on that?
I'm not sure tamed glyphids even know what's going on, they're just following pheromones at the end of the day.
@@siirvend but why wood Thay change sides?
Id assume it works the same way the pheromone grenades work, using olfactory signals to confuse the bug into seeing you as something it needs to follow/protect. Invertebrates like Glyphids really have no use for concepts like allegiance, they simply follow the rest of the hive through chemical signals like how ants and bees do here.
@@siirvend but then where is the Fairmont producer because I’m pretty sure it would wear off after a minute or two as you see with the fan on grenade
