I got mine from Costco yesterday and used it last night to mow roughly 1/3 acre. No complaints or issues. As has been noted on other reviews (various sites) there is a slight delay when engaging the drive wheels. I didn't feel it was significant and by hitting the lever just a little earlier the mower was pulling and moving by the time the turn had been completed. Also as reported previously releasing the self propel lever slightly early a foot or so from where a person wants to end allows the wheels to be free. This in turn lets the mower be pulled back or pushed forward without issue. One additional comment is that the mower is light and can be moved sans self propel with ease. I depleted one battery and had minimal drain on the second. The less used battery was fully charged in less than 15 minutes. The mower had plenty of power even where the grass is very thick and the yard looked great.
I was told that Costco only gives you a charger that can only charge one battery at a time. Other retailers offering the same mower offer a two battery charger.
Thanks for your video! You explained the 2 batteries very well, mine came with 2 batteries, wasn’t sure if I used them both at the same time, yo7 explained very well!
Just got mine last saturday. I like the height of the handle and can be adjusted. My old gas honda was awesome but if you are 6ft or above it would make my back hurt. I had to actually turn down the self propelled speed. Felt like i was holding bavk a german shepherd at times. My wife and i love the fact we don't have to drive to find non ethanol fuel or use the additive. I have the 4a battery. It is very quiet as well.
Just got one from Costco. They offer an 8 year battery warranty in addition to 4 years on the mower. I'm having trouble pulling the mower backwards when trimming but I guess I'll learn to live with that. I think it makes more noise than my neighbor's EGO mower. Cut quality is good.
I just bought this mower from Costco. It's $750 for the exact set up at Lowes. But, to go backwards (release the drive wheels) you let off the drive (Gray handle), push the mower forward slightly. Then you can roll backwards freely. It takes some getting used to like anything else.
I bought this from Costco and the Ego select cut model for $599 from lowes. Tried both and now returning the greenworks and keeping the Ego. I too expereinced the trouble while pulling the greenworks backwards as the bag flap was touching the ground. If you put bag, it may not be a problem i guess. However, i feel more comfortable and maneuvering was much easier with Ego. So im ignoring the $100 difference and keeping the Ego. The only plus i see with Greenworks over ego is the 8 year warranty if you buy from costco. In all other areas, Ego blown the Greenworks. I experienced it myself and i'm returning the Greenworks.
@@RatishRam As i mentioned, 8 years warranty is the only plus compared to the Ego for $100 less. For the ease of manuerability, i chose Ego. Also if you notice, the Ego is much more compact when folded than greenworks.
@@RatishRam Open both and try for yourself and post an unbiased opinion here on which one you chose. I just cut my think lawn and both performed almost equal although the greenworks left a a very few grass blades uncut here and there. Overall both performed well. Also Greenwork is about 6lbs heavier than Ego with just one battery. Not sure if that really matters. Another plus i noticed with Greenworks is the steel deck wheras Ego has the fiber deck. I still need to findout which one goes the lowest cut.
I just bought toe 60V version of your Gen. 2 mower. As I understand it, the "high-lift" spare blade that came with your mower will improve mulching; it won't just improve bagging. This blade is almost impossible to buy on the aftermarket; it's out of stock more than it's in stock. I'm saving mine for leaf season. Without Turbo, the highest speed is 2800 rpm. With Turbo, a steady 3200 rpm. I haven't stalled out since I began using Turbo full-time. If you plan to buy a lot of Greenworks tools, the 60 volt may make more sense because the 60-volt line is more extensive and cutting-edge. But if you plan to buy only the mower and maybe one or two other tools, the 80V mower is a better value because the batteries cost less per watt-hour.
There is a silver metal "button on the bottom of the handle push and hold it in. with the other hand lift the handle , once the handle moves upward release the button -Hope this helps
"How did you manage to push the cable inside the handlebar?" Could you kindly explain the method you employed to successfully insert the cable into the handlebar?
The "high lift blade" is what they call a mulching blade. I seen a little difference between the two. Where as my Honda had a duel blade setup that created 4 cutting surfaces . I prefer GW over Honda because I'm tired of messing with gas and oil especially in the spring ! Good Luck and thanks for watching
Might be best to figure out if you plan on purchasing other tools from greenworks . If they have the tools you want in the 48V line then that might be the way to go.
I just got the same mower from Costco, I used it for 10 minutes and it shut down. It never started again, self-propelled works and batteries work in blower. Anybody else have this happen?
Mike , I have not had any issues with the mower or other greenworks products. One of the major points of purchasing battery operated products is to not deal with as much maintenance. Costco has a great return policy. Good Luck!
You circuit board inside under battery compartment is most likely faulted..maybe due to getting wet of just bad from the factory.either way there is a warranty so I would contact manufacture or bring back where you purchased
I fully charged it for the first time and it stopped working after just ten minutes of use. It made a beeping sound before it stopped working! Can anyone tell me what the reason is?
Yes, the "tab" that locks them in place are located in the same place. So if I put the 4ah into the blower it would stick out a couple inches but it would be locked in. Using a 2ah on a 4ah tool the battery would be reset a bit but would lock in as well.
I contacted Greenworks about the Highlift blade here is there response - "Customer Experience · 8 days ago Hello Good2live, Thank you for your inquiry. Part #C3200773-00 is unavailable for purchase right now as we don't sell many high-lift blades on their own as of now. Sometimes there are different part numbers associated with one part but as long as the symbols match up on the blade and blade holder (fan on mower). The symbols would be either a full circle, half circle, or 2 arrow-like symbols."
Battery will last 2 times longer if you dont use the self propelled on flat grass area.. I have the same mower so I'm tellimg you from first hand experience .ill only use self propelled on an incline maybe .other than that I dont use to save battery life
I bought the 60v version of that mower last summer. The mulch plug was deformed and wouldn't stay in place. Waited 60 days for replacement. They sent a part for a Sun Joe mower which was way too big. "NO PARTS AVAILABLE" they told me. PARTS HAVE 90 DAY WARRANTY!!! Even though the documentation says 4 years. I had Home Depot pick it up and received an immediate full refund. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GREENWORKS PRO. You have been warned.
Better too spend more time on how the lawnmower sounds instead having only 4 seconds in live audio and the rest of the video on mute! Then you have speed fast on the mowering demo!

I've learned that if I release the grey drive handle and push it just an extra inch or two the drive seams to release better.

Bought this from Costco 2 weeks ago, one word GREAT
Yep!
Just got this from Costco...my first lawn mower...appreciate the video!
Thanks Sudeep, if you release the grey handle a second or two before stopping you will be able to pull it backwards without a delay .
Just I bought the same mower, thank you for video very easy to follow how to operate.

it's great pulling it out of winter storage and not having to change oil clean the carb...
Great review. Thank you. I'm enjoying your channel and looking forward to more content from you.

Appreciate that! I posted a new one on the EGO 21" mower a week a go if your interested in comparing them.

Great info video. I am thinking about getting this model too, from Costco, now 8 years total warranty on Batteries.
Thanks Tom , its nice not having to check the oil or worry about gas sitting to long. Enjoy
The one I bought from COSTCO, Costco themselves had extended the warranty out to 8 years for the machine and the batteries !
Great review and overview, thank you!!
Thanks for the Good words and thanks for subscribing !
@@good2live225 absolutely! Just purchased one!
Do you know what the extra blade is for? Thank you for being the only person who did a video worth watching.
it is a "high lift blade:, improves mulching

thanks for the information, greenworks seems to think about engineering before bringing their products to market and it shows
Great video ! I just bought this model as well.
Thanks Eric , did you get it at Costco?
Can you please demonstrate how to unfold the lower handle. Every video I watch fast forwards this part but mine won’t budge.
to be clear , you are speaking about where the handle connects to the mower structure?
There is a silver metal "button on the bottom of the handle push and hold it in. with the other hand lift the handle , once the handle moves upward release the button -Hope this helps
@Good2Live thanks for Video, It's neat and clear. Did you install a spare blade? if so can you do the video of it?
sounds like a good idea. thanks for your suggestion
"How did you manage to push the cable inside the handlebar?"
Could you kindly explain the method you employed to successfully insert the cable into the handlebar?
I made a small loop and tucked the wiring into the handle arm cavity with one hand while holding the controller with the other hand
@@good2live225 Thanks for answering the question and informing me about the procedure. I appreciate it!
they skimping on the batterys now adays. only 2 ah and 2.5 ah.. looks like they gave you two 4 ah batteries.. thats nice
Is it good for small yard.
You’re the first person that’s mentioned lack of a mulching blade. Does it work ok? Does Greenworks sell a true mulching blade?
Thanks

Variable

Thank you !!!
other than costco, where do you get this?
you can buy direct from Greenworks, amazon, Lowes and others
good vid
Thank you !
Can you put a 80v in a 60v mower?
No , they are different designs. they look a lot alike but the grooves are in different places .
Are you still happy with this mower? I’m cross shopping this against the EGO 2156.
yes, very happy , currently using it to mulch up my apple and cherry leaves so I can keep the weeds down and the bulbs frost free.
Did you end up going with the ego?
Hi my yard is small. Iam so confused if I go with this or 48 volt same brand that will save me $200. Please advise. Thank you so much

Can you run the self-propelled without the blade running?
Yes the grey handles when engaged will cause the mower to move forward without the blade rotating
I fully charged it for the first time and it stopped working after just ten minutes of use. It made a beeping sound before it stopped working! Can anyone tell me what the reason is?
Are the 80v 2.0 ah and 80v 4.0 batteries interchangeable ?
Yes, the "tab" that locks them in place are located in the same place. So if I put the 4ah into the blower it would stick out a couple inches but it would be locked in. Using a 2ah on a 4ah tool the battery would be reset a bit but would lock in as well.
