If you guys are having solenoid problems inside the transmission on the 3800 and couldn't remove the side pan due to rusted out subframe or something else what I did was cut the brown wire on the transmission harness was about to junk the car but now that I cut it the torque converter is working again and shifting every gear I put 400 miles in 3 days no problem at all
Hi my friend a curiosity I have the same gearbox mounted on the opel insignia and it makes me in neutral from 3 to 4 gear, with the diagnosis it gives me error P0741 and P0734 what happened in your opinion?
Rebuilt transmission on a 2013 tahoe; didn't even have it back a full 24hrs. Shifting late, rpms idling high but seem like it don't want to catch speed; Transmission fluid good, torque converter new. Mechanic said Transmission didn't need to be reprogrammed. Can anyone tell me what it could be; also took to the parts store put on machine and it read a code P0741 and C0899-00... can someone help me out with this ik it could be a list of things
Good explanation I have a 2001 maxima , 203k miles Check engine light p0744 Shifting badly I did a ATF drain and fill adding Lucus Old fluid was black/brown no metal shavings or metallic tint, no burnt smell either. After the atf service. it was a lot better, maybe 65% better. I also cleared the code. 70 miles later it came back. At 330 miles it was 80% better now at 600+miles it’s say about 90% better. I have a feeling the TCC solenoid was dirty from the old fluid. If it does not get better soon. It may mean replacing shift solenoids Transmission : RE4F04A Nissan Part No.: 31940-80X25 SOLENOID REPAIR KIT - CONTROL VALVE About. $77-120 part
Well, when a vehicle comes into the shop with that many miles, I rebuild or change the transmission with a unit with lower miles. I never recommend additives to fix the problem because once it is put into the transmission, all the seals will have to be replaced that has been touched with the additive.
THIS IS YOUR TRANSMISSION I understand your thoughts, however given the age of the call and miles and how much it is , fixing the transmission that way would cost more than the car is worth. So at last resort I did what I did. I know it’s not fixing anything just prolonging the inevitable. Of a transmission failure. But from the result so far it’s driving and shifting now the best it has in years . 970 miles post. Atf service it’s adding Lucus.
I am having this issue on my 2005 gmc envoy 5.3L with the 4l60e trans do do you believe dropping the pan and changing the solenoid or cleaning the old one would fix it. When I hit 40 it just slips
Great Video and info.. Question should you reset the TAPS Function after replacing all the Shfit Solenoids and Pressure Valve Switch on 08 Silverado? I was getting same code p0741 but now it shifts smooth but didn't reset codes after replacing parts.
Sounds good.. Seems truck is shifting smooth at all gears bit was just curious if that reset would hurt anything.. Thanks and keep up the great videos..
I've been driving over a year on a bad 4l60e in a 2011 Colorado. I have no idea what the problem is but last night I changed shift solenoids and tcc solenoid. Didn't make a but of difference.
I had this code but I was wondering by turning off the code will it come back on so I went for a ride it didn’t come back on the next day I took it for a ride again and see if it comes back on and it didn’t so have to drive it on a highway and do 70 to see but I haven’t try it yet I have a feeling you are right I think it slips but I wait and see hope and pray it doesn’t come back on 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In the video, it shows what I am looking for if this code happens. who ever is working on your transmission would have to do the same thing. If not, they will just be guessing.
I just received this code on my 05 Toyota Corolla. How bad is it to drive with the code? It drives completely fine and I plan to fix it soon but it’s my only mean of transportation.
I don't believe this code will make you have an accident, if this is what you want to hear. I guess, drive it until something else goes wrong if you still can move. Normally though, you may see a reduction in fuel mileage.
Hey man, I had that code pop up on my son's 06 Saab 9-3 2.8t. V6. I removed the valve body and fluid which were terribly dirty. Black fluid. Tested each solenoid, and got the correct 6.5 ohm reading. Cleaned and rebuilt the VB and reinstalled it. I correctly used 12 quarts to flush out old fluid until all fluid was fresh. No more p0741 code, but car still won't drive. Do you think it needs a new torque converter? Thanks
@@thisisyourtransmission It doesn't drive. It will reverse absolutely normal. Neutral seems normal. But when I get it in drive, it takes very high rpm's for the car to barely move a few feet. Occasionally, it will catch at higher revs and take off sluggish. During those times, it will not shift. And once it slows down, its back to not catching.
Is it unusual for the P0741 code to come and go? My car shows no signs of shifting problems or gas mileage issues but I get the check Engine light after about 2 hours of driving. Once on, it stays on until an adequate cool down period occurs, or the next day, then it’s off again?
My torque converter was physically shaking the car but no codes professionally replaced it now every torque converter code possible replaced all solenoids not fixed until I bought a toyota lol never ever buy American
@soulerflare7 I had it looked at and he said my 3rd gear was worn out, basically i need to have my transmission rebuilt.... or replaced. Take it in and have it checked out it's usually free

So did you replace valve body or the harness with the solenoid?

I have a p0746 pressure solenoid, stuck off. What solenoid would it be?
if only torque pro app showed me those trans values..
Hi. How to fix the problem in the video? I have the same problem.
I have the same code 2010 Silverado, so I clean the metal off the tcc valve?

What was the actual repair performed to fix it?
I would have to go through the videos to find out. This is why I have them on youtube for others to do this.
Nothing?
Anyone knows how much fixing a P0471 code would cost on a 2011 Mercedes E350 4Matic sedan ?

I have the same code 01 gmc sierra 4l60E. What happens if I keep driving it slipping for several more months?

Do you have any videos on diagnosing torque converter shutter

Which TCC solenoid you change the on in the valve body or the one that is wires to the solenoid harness

Did you verify solenoid CIRCUIT function? Or did you just disturb the electrical circuit?
The valve in the valve body was bad.
Just saw that in part 2
Thank you!
Very helpful for that model.
