This then played at our wedding and I will never forget how we danced our hearts out. Unfortunately he passed away due to Covid just last year and I come back to this song every once in a while to reminisce. To my Jack I will always love you and I would not have dreamed of someone better to be stuck in the middle with.

But he was so much more. He was first and foremost a genuinely good man. He was an animal lover, had a wonderful sense of humor, and he loved classical music and poetry. I will miss him greatly, especially his philosophizing on the meaning of life.

個人的にこの曲はロック真っ盛りの思春期の頃にたまたまUA-camで聴いて一発で好きになり、それ以来70年代のロックでも特にお気に入りの特別な曲です。
この曲のメインボーカルは故ジェリー・ラファティーのはずですが、MVではジョーがさも歌ってるようなふりしてる所も最高です。
他にもStarでの聴く人を包み込むようなジョーの優しい歌声やI Get Byでのハスキーでクールなボーカルも本当に良かった。

This is literally the first "rock video" I ever saw. We had just gotten cable television (a big deal in the early '70s) and HBO played these to take up time between movies. It's still one of my very favorite songs of all time. The HBO got turned off after it was discovered they had R-rated movies at night. :-( 😸
