I never comment on UA-cam videos, however I felt compelled to say this: I am 62 years old and my late husband of almost 45 years shared our first kiss to this song. This then played at our wedding and I will never forget how we danced our hearts out. Unfortunately he passed away due to Covid just last year and I come back to this song every once in a while to reminisce. To my Jack I will always love you and I would not have dreamed of someone better to be stuck in the middle with.

Thanks Lauren - I got a chuckle out of your sense of humor. My kiss song was "Captain Fantastic" by Elton John. If you and I (I'm 62 too) had a kiss song - I propose - Romeo's Tune - by Stephen Frebert something something.

Gerry Rafferty actually sang lead vocal on the song (you can tell it's his voice). When the video was shot, Rafferty had already left the band, so they had Joe Egan lip syncing along with the recording.

Steelers Wheel guitarist Paul Pilnick, has passed away! My uncle and occasional drinking buddy Paul, died on September 17, 2021 aged 80 after a short illness. He left behind his wife Yvonne, son Tony, step-daughter Charlotte and two grandchildren. The world knew him as a fabulously talented musician, who after Steelers Wheel worked with his childhood friend John Lennon at Apple Records, and toured with the likes of Stevie Wonder. But he was so much more. He was first and foremost a genuinely good man. He was an animal lover, had a wonderful sense of humor, and he loved classical music and poetry. I will miss him greatly, especially his philosophizing on the meaning of life.

This song holds a special place in my heart. It takes me back to fun times with my Dad & Uncle Dave. They were such fun to be around and always cutting up. I was in the truck sitting in the middle of both of them & we were riding down the road. So with the lyrics...clowns to the left of me...jokers to the right & stuck in the middle with you...that was me! My Uncle passed away many years before my Dad & my Dad has been gone 3 years now. I had this song played at my Dad's funeral. I know people looked at me like I was crazy...but that song reminded me of the good times...and helped me through a very sad time. I miss them both terribly! 😪

The guy lip syncing isn't Gerry Rafferty. It's his guitarist Joe Egan. Rafferty was gone that day. Rafferty was a genius songwriter. If you like this, look for songs from Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street album. It is one of the best. "Right Down The Line" is one of my favorite songs.

FYI Joe Egan wasn't just the guitarist he was a fellow front man. Stealers wheel were basically Rafferty and Egan. Rafferty had quit the band for a time but SW were under contract to finish and promote the album hence Joe Egan lip syncing. Totally agree about raffertys ability to write tho. Although I preferred Egans voice on many of the tracks they recorded...go and find I get by...awesome...

    Lyrics, cause why not:
Well I don't know why I came here tonight
I've got the feeling that something ain't right
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs
Clowns to the left of me
    Jokers to the right
Here I am stuck in the middle with you
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you
And I'm wondering what it is I should do
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losing control, yeah I'm all over the place
Clowns to the left of me
    Jokers to the right
Here I am stuck in the middle with you
When you started off with nothing
    And you're proud that you're a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawling
Slap you on the back and say
    Please
    Please
Trying to make some sense of it all
But I can see it makes no sense at all
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor?
'Cause I don't think that I can take anymore
Clowns to the left of me
    Jokers to the right
Here I am stuck in the middle with you
When you started off with nothing
    And you're proud that you're a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawling
Slap you on the back and say
    Please
    Please
Well I don't know why I came here tonight
I've got the feeling that something ain't right
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs
Clowns to the left of me
    Jokers to the right
Here I am stuck in the middle with you
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you

If you ever confused “Stuck in the Middle With You” with a Bob Dylan song, then mission accomplished: The tune was meant as a Dylan parody. The lyrics themselves - think, “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right” - were intended to represent an industry cocktail party. Though the Scottish band had three studio albums and lead singer Gerry Rafferty went on to have solo hits like “Baker Street,” “Stuck in the Middle With You” has become particularly cemented in music history thanks to its placement in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs and, in more recent years, as the theme song to the Netflix show Grace and Frankie.

Well I don't know why I came here tonight.
I've got the feeling that something ain't right.
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs.
Clowns to the left of me!
    Jokers to the right!
Here I am stuck in the middle with you.
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you,
And I'm wondering what it is I should do.
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face.
Losing control and running all over the place.
Clowns to the left of me!

Here I am stuck in the middle with you.
When you started off with nothing
And you're proud that your a self-made man.
    Ooooo-ooo-oooh
And your friends they all come crawling,
Slap you on the back and say
    Please . . .
    Please . . .
Trying to make some sense of it all
But I see it makes no sense at all.
Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor?
I don't think that I can take anymore.
