Living life now in the clothes of the present

I needed to go through my clothes and declutter, there were a few things I knew that I needed to get rid of. And that made me think, how many people open their closets and see clothes they don't even like? Clothes aren't just a covering, they are a way we present ourselves.
If you are anything like me, your closet is full of clothes that are old, that don't fit anymore. Maybe they aren't relevant in your life anymore. (I'm looking at those nursing tops) What is worse, is keeping clothes for the future. For an ideal future you may be holding onto.
I have been trying to and enjoying living in the present. (For some reason this is a hard thing to do in 2024) And getting ready for the day is a big part of being present.
When you are looking through your clothes you see everything that was, is and will be. Not only can these things crowd your closet, they can crowd your mind. Our minds can stream through the emotions of these things without us even knowing it. That dress you bought 5 years ago for weight loss motivation might not be so motivating now.
As I age, I find myself becoming more feminine. More nostalgic. (even for a time older than myself) I'm done buying cheap clothes that don't fit well, aren't comfortable, and don't last. (let me know if you know any quality clothing stores!)
