I need an ls3 in my brz so I can have the much needed power that this great car deserves and ls3rz just sounds right 👌🏻
Couldn't agree more!
Yoo make a video I’m trying to do the same
This is how I feel about my 2016 Genesis Coupe. And the number of people who always try to challenge me when I am cruising down the street. I hate being poor with no money.
incredible work, I love it. I think I found my next project to do for my wife's FRS. My biggest concern was keeping factory PS, gauges, A/C, etc as it would be a daily, but with the package you guys put together I think it may end up being a no brainer
Yeah it really is an amazing setup. Especially since you don't lose all the functions you mentioned. Can have your cake and eat it to lol!
@@SikkyTV this is the reason how I like you in the first glance I knew it you are the best out there.
This guy should have a hotrod school, nice vid, never a dull moment!!!
I'm 18 and have a couple years before getting the brz i want and then waiting to put an ls3 into it. I haven't found anything like this and it honestly is so relieving to know that you guys exist and are doing what you do. I have just this year set my foot into Formula SAE so I appreciate all the hard work that has obviously gone into the development of this product. Please keep this kit around because soon I'll be looking for one just like it.
Awesome! Let us know when your ready to get your project started.
Goals! Thank you for this.
Glad you liked it!
bro chris!! (ls swap your brz)
I like to return to watch this series and drool. I've been dreaming of doing this swap for a while. I'm still a few years out but hope you guys will be around and able to do it when I can afford too.
Sure thing let us know when you are ready
SIKKY IS THE WAY TO GO!!!! BEST USA MADE LS KITS ON THE MARKET!! AFFORDABLE LS SWAPS TURN KEY BUILDS AND TONS OF EXPERIENCE!
AMAZING WORK AS ALWAYS!
This car will be my next project for 2020-2021, SIKKY all the way!
Thanks!
This is like the ultimate sleeper car, someone thinks it's just another FRS/BRZ and then it launches like a super-car on you.
You can hear the v8 lol
I loved my frs but it definitely was held back by its power 😭 this work is so sick! Bet the owner is a 1000x happier lol
100%
Yes, it's an amazing setup for sure!
When can I bring my car in 😭
Cross weight is left to right... Front to rear distribution is around 57/43 front to rear.
correct! good catch. We didn't want to pull the video down and re do so let it ride but your 100% correct
This makes me want to get a brz or an 86 now.
Awesome vid! I’d be interested in another one showing more detail on some of the minor things like how the AC/heater hook up or wiring challenges.
Well your in luck. We will be doing more of a step by step install with our very own FRS soon. First episode for that build should be hitting the channel in about two weeks.
@@SikkyTV nice. I'd love to start a build like this. From all the ls swaped vehicles I've seen the frs seems to be a good fit for the engine.
@@SikkyTV did that video get posted?
Would love to see what engine cooling, canbus specific wiring and fuel solutions you came up with.
Wow man I want to do it so bad. The sound and power is intoxicating
What a great set up! Everyone is going to be rock in’ Sikky rigs.
Thanks for watching!!
You guys did absolutely amazing work with this build. Now that I know there's a kit like this I am definitely picking up a FRS
Thanks!!!!
Not sure I would go this route, but the info in this video is VERY useful when looking at engine swaps for the FRS/BRZ/GT86, due to project goals I'll probably go with a K-serkes, but good to know even with a V8 up front it still has good balance 👍
Best sounding v8 ever
We agree!
SIKKY i wanna do my 86 RHD Automatic v8 swap
Been waiting for the road test from these guys.
Time to really Start savings, and get off my ass with my ls2
You will love it no doubt. So much fun to drive
@@SikkyTV what do you figure the top speed is?
Wow 😍 inspiring build. Makes me wanna get rid of the fa20 before I start seeking more power from it. You guys do incredible engineering. Cheers from Toronto
You can do it! Thanks for watching
I think there may be a BRZ/FRS in my future.
I have a 350z with a LS 376-480 - just under 500 hp at the crank. 425 at the wheels. Even though the FRS has somewhat more power than my car, this FRS is clearly a more civilized and more refined car. Bravo! This FRS has a better clutch, better starting from a stop, and clearly is smoother, and closer to a factory experience. Super impressive engineering and workmanship. The cad cam work and engineering has obviously paid off in a big way. I can feel the differences just watching this video.
Has the swapped car got AC and cruise control worked out?
Yes, very smooth. Feels almost OEM. Yes, working AC and cruise control
May have a new LS consideration after the BMW swap is completed. That's the most dialed in set up out there. Wow.
Thanks! yes turned out great.
Any plans for any more LS Swap FRS parts on your store? Such as Wiring/ECU kits or CD009 Bellhousing adapter's and heater/Aircon adapters?
I plan to fit my LS in to my GT86 next year and already plan to use your packages but an all-in-one solution would be great!
Wiring is up on the site now! Yes brake line kit and master cylinder kit will be up on the site in a week or two.
@@SikkyTV Awesome! I'll check them out
Great swap, is there any possibility that the original gearbox fits on the LS by using an adapter and an upgraded clutch?
The max hp a stock trans can hold is around 380, a LS will destroy it.
stock trans would never hold the power of the LS
So are you able to use the stock clutch master cylinder after putting in the adapter? Did you use the stock cooling system? What about the heater core, was the oem one used as well? Just a couple of fine details I’d like to know, planning on doing the swap myself!
We make an aftermarket clutch master cylinder upgrade that increases the size of the master cylinder to better match the needs of the bigger slave cylinder in the new transmission.
The radiator was an aftermarket aluminum upgraded unit but stock location. OEM heater core using our ultra tight 90 deg hoses to clear the back of the intake manifold.
Let us know if you need any other help. Best to email us at sales@sikky.com for a more immediate response.
This is more of a corvette than the new mid-engine corvette IMO
Might have a new customer in a year or so, definitely something I’m interested in having done
Sound good, let us know when you’re ready
Damn that sound is music to my ears. This is dope af🔥not bad $24k or so. But I’d prob go the K-swap for $15k. Can’t believe how good it sounds
Yeah definitely sounds awesome!
I've been, and still am saving to have this done. ( LS3 + Tr6060 or T56 ).. Getting there! I'd want to get two sets of headers, one catted set, and the other none - got to pass emissions!
Possible a starter map, then switch maps for fun.
The cats go after the header in a factory position. Very similar to where they would be on a LS3 powered Camaro.
@@SikkyTV Very cool! I can't wait to do the buil. Not just talk, its a bout 2 years away, but goal is to have you folks do it.
So you guys used the stock FRS steering rack? Does the EPS have to be run through the ECU?
Liked and subscribed, absolutely amazing work you guys have put in. I’ve been planning an ls swap for about a year now and just didn’t have enough info to want to take that leap. Seeing the outcome here, especially that the weight distribution and handling characteristics all seem to be in tact, has made so excited to try this myself. I am wondering, if you support hardware to mount a t56 transmission? Or if going with the Nissan trans is just the way to go. I’m looking forward to your install series!
Thanks! Yes we support most commonly used transmissions. T56, TR6060, CD009 etc.
My FRS is running 440 whp and around 370 tq, and has huge issues with wheelspin. I run the 255x17 Pilot Sport 4s tire. Took it to a drag strip one day and I couldn't launch it for the life of me, but handles beautifully in cornering as long as you don't get reckless with the gas pedal. Flooring it is essentially just wheel spin unless I launch it from a roll at 60. Would love to hear ideas on how to decrease wheelspin.
Actual tire grip has a lot to do with this. Also, suspension travel. People often put coil overs on cars and slam them. Removing suspension travel. This greatly effects the transfer of weight under hard acceleration. Unfortunately drag and cornering are too very different needs when it comes to the car setup so you have to find a middle ground if you want to do both. Most will get a second pair of wheels and mount a grippy set of tires on them for when they go to the drag strip so you don't have to sacrifice cornering and handling.
Thanks for the response man! You answered what I was afraid of. I purchased my current build/FRS from my friend and it seems to be primarily for cross country/track use, not launching from a dig. @SikkyTV
Do you think you could get AC to fit in there?
Can you remember what camshaft was installed? Love the lumpy sound.
Will doing this engine swap in my frs pass emission test
No, you will have to hot smog
i’m thinking of LS2 swapping my brz i’m just wondering how much it would cost in labour to get it in and working
I’m so excited to get into all the information on this build!!! I was originally going to try to get a C7 Vette but it’s just too much. The wheelbase on this car is wider then the Porsche GT2 -RS . Frame made under Subaru and Toyota 💪🏻 . And the on demand power of a LS3 … 🥲 this appears to be the truest drivers car.
Just blown my engine in my 2015 frs. Looking for a swap. What would be the cost for a total set up?
How did the engine blow?
@@buddybestor not sure yet can see a hole on top of the engine maybe a bearing.
How much did this all cost when done ? I’m looking at doing a 2jz or an LS swap on my wrx .
Don’t 2jz swap especially for daily drive you will regret
Sold!, will be contacting you guys soon.
Where are the fuel lines? i dont see them when showing the underside of the car, they are usually drivers side.
I’ve seen this set up before, the complaint was that fumes were leaking into the cabin making driver dizzy. Does this vehicle come with same problem? If not congrats on a major level!
No that would be an install issue. Cabin should remain sealed from exhaust fumes if there are no open holes in the firewall. Totally avoidable
my fa20 just broke on me at 77,000 miles sooo i think it’s time for me to LS swap
Well, time to swap!
SIKKY definitely going to try and swap it. Have a ballpark number on the total cost including tuning ?
Are guys going to make sway bars and a front strut bar for this swap ? Can’t wait to get mine back
It's not in the current plans but that could change.
So with the wire harness you guys offer, would it utilize an aftermarket ecu or the FRS ecu? When I look at the options for the wiring I dont see anything about Ecu's
Will use either the OEM ecu or aftermarket of choice
2800lbs... that thing would blow the fucking doors off a 2018 Challenger SRT lmao
Yes sir it would💪🏻
Do you guys have the Y-Pipe to BRZ catback yet? I did not see one on the site.
Not yet. Will be working on that in the near future
You were able to use the factory accelerator pedal?
Which water pump did you guys go with on this build?
Does it have a/c? If so, did you use the stock frs compressor or did you have go with an LS compressor?
Lastly, what accessory belt did you go with?
I’m waiting on my stage 3 Sikky LS swap kit and I’m trying to iron out what accessories are needed to complete my build.
Thank you 🙏
Stock LS3 water pump. This particular car did not have AC but the AC kit is now available on our website in the AC section. There is also an install guide for the AC system on our UA-cam channel.
I’m sold. Now per California Bs. CARB laws would it be possible for set up as such to be road legal ?
i recognize that area and that turn off to 95 yall are in rosedale tahts sick and i have a BRZ if my FA20 takes a shit im going to pop by
COME ON DOWN!!!! swing in anytime during biz hours. Stop by the shop side of the building (JE Total Performance)
@@SikkyTV actually popped by yesterday for a diag appointment for a po171 code and a fuel leak set up for the 15th its a panda colored 2013.
What software do you use to tune the motor in this case of using the oem bcm and gauges? I'm looking into doing a ls swap or building the block and turning up my current boost.
Does this whole package come with a finance option?
dont do that lol
with ur bank, basically, finance for another 25k to 50k car with a higher interest rate from 10% good credit to 50% bad credit since the loan will be out as personal
if you buy the kit on the site you can finance through Paypal or Affirm. Options at checkout.
Would you guys be able to make a kit for a 2015+ wrx?
can you keep cruise control?
Hopefully you guys build WRX /STI VA chassis
Anything is possible but our R&D list determines what we spend the time on
@@SikkyTV I’ve been in all auto fabricator builder but no one like you..
I don't know a ton about LS engines. Will this kit work for any LS engine or only the LS3?
any LS engine
can you do this on a automatic?
Sounds Awesome. The car looks like it has Seibon Fenders, Hood and Trunk? Is this correct? Great build keep up the good work.
no just vinyl work
I'm starting my LS swap but where can I buy the Canbus module? Is it being produced yet for the BRZ/FRS?
How long would the swap take if someone purchased the turn key package through Sikky?
2-3 months
Wow that car moves!
like being strapped to a rocket!
Frs or 350z ls3? The swap difficulties, handling,...? Would be great to have your feedback. Thanks for your work!
Both! but yeah Z will probably be a little bit easier.
Did you guys keep the stock radiator? I watched the whole series but I don't remember you guys mentioning it?
We are in the process of designing a swap specific radiator now but it would be a good idea to upgrade
@@SikkyTV what’s the price tag on this complete?
Do you think you can fit a Frankenstein iceman intake manifold (without the hood)
This is dope !
I am definitely doing that !
Ls3 Frs Scion whip it
Go for it!
This is dream built nicely done., how much need to save up to afford one. 😅
too many variables to say but it's not cheap to do it right. Can easily spend 20-30k
How much does a good cleanly done set up cost?
Did u guys also change the transmission?
yes, t56 magnum in this particular build
Hey I'm interested in finding out more information on the kit? Thanks
All the info currently is on the website. We are starting a build series which will basically be a how to guide for doing this swap very soon. Filming it now.
Are you guys going to make a turbo manifold for it ?
Not at the moment. We have been thinking about making a turbo kit for these swaps. Still just in idea mode though.
Do you guys provide the engine harness? What about ecu, what kind is being used? Motec?
Yes, can supply all the above. Factory GM ecu being used in this build.
Any issues with the rear end handling the torque?
Not in normal circumstances. If your doing drag strip style launches or have larger very sticky tires it could fail.
Great video, I might have missed it but can you do a separate video with total costs?
There are so many variables when doing an LS swap it would be impossible to do a total cost.
u'll need 25k for entry
Hope we could pay with installments. affirm? Hhmmm
What do you do about the oil pan? Does it keep thesway bar?
Did you guys already design a y pipe for the headers to bolt up to frs brz aftermarket exhausts?
Not yet.
With this swap to a brz, can you fit edelbrock cross ram without having clearance troubles??? Also can I keep the A/C??
I think currently ( I could be wrong ) but they are still working on the A/C replacement. They go through their own hardcore R&D which makes their products that much better for perfection!
Yeah ac works using our AC kit. Not sure on the cross Ram. Have not tried that manifold
I’m wanting to put an LS 3 in my 2019 Toyota Tacoma,Got any info to help me?
Yes. Yeet it in there.
If it has a hood, it’ll fit.
OMG! DID YOU GUYS JUST SAID YOU ADQUIRED YOUR OWN FRS????? THIS JUST SAYS HOW GOOD THIS CAR IS, COMING FROM A PRO DIFTER JAMES> I LOOK FORWARD FOR THE STEP BY STEP SERIES!!!
YES! We are pumped. Got a beautiful specimen. Be on the lookout for episode 1!
how do you upgrade the rear end to handle 500hp+ ?
Suprisingly the frs has a decent rear. Obivously if you are going drag setup you will need something like brett stated or there is a nissan rear that works apparently too
What ECU did you go with?
Do you guys can ship parts to Philippines?
Thanks.
yes
Exhaust looks very close to the ground. How much clearance?
Yeah it’s 3” pipe so it’s tight but it’s enough to not bottom out.
@@SikkyTV Would be a cool idea to put airbag suspension for everyday driving but when you go on the track you can lower it for better aero.
Just bought a new daily for work and am about to pull my 450 hp boosted fa20/trans to sell for Sikky parts.
Sounds like a plan. Absolutely amazing car to drive with LS V8 power.
What is required to pass emissions and drive it daily?
Another great video 👌
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
How much does it cost for a build like this? Also possible adding a turbo?
Not an easy question to answer due to all the variables. This particular setup would be at the higher end of the range. Parts cost alone on this one is likely in the 30k + range
*presses in gas*
"Yeah it's a rocket ship"
How far does that exhaust pipe sag? Looks like it'll grind for people with low setup.
It's as high up as it can go. If you wanted to get even more ground clearance you could run the oval style exhaust pipe but that comes with a higher cost.
How much would a setup like this run? Time to start saving haha
It depends on the many factors involved. Email sales@sikky.com for pricing info
How the weight distribution work? Seem like à 57F and 43R right?
Car weight around 1600 in the front and 1200 in the back
Correct
Was expecting less tbh, the fa20 is almost as heavy as the ls and sit further of the firewall and it supposed to be a 53/47 ratio
For the people who have to run emissions on their cars, will the wiring specialties canbus system work for passing obd2 emissions?
not sure on that, would likely vary per state.
@@SikkyTV so what you're telling me is that the obd2 port cannot communicate any of the readiness monitors, i.e. catalyst, comprehensive component, misfire, oxygen sensor, etc..?
Do you just rock the factory LS ECU?
Yes
Does it still maintain the abs? I know that has been an issue in other swaps.
Yes fully functional factory ABS
I want to know about the wiring harness and wiring.
Would love to do this, but I will be lazy and just buy a c6. lol
Yeah, not the same but c6 is a fun car too!
Will this swap kit work with the BRZ ? Amazing work BTW, you guys never fail to impress !
Yes this kit works for BRZ and FRS
SIKKY One more question , will this work with a 4.8 LS ? And will I be able to turbo it ?
Yash Karthik yes it will work with that LS and all others. There is a lot of room for a front mount style turbo setup.
SIKKY Thank You !
You’re welcome!
Is there AC in the car?
not this car but there are now AC kits available on the website.
Do you still have hvac system?
Yes
Does the CANbus system come with the stage 2 kit?
you can buy the harness separately or order a stage 3 kit.
350z ls swaps are becoming even more common too
indeed
