Would have been interesting to see if the old PCM had a bad cap. Would have also been interesting to know why you took a chance on the PCM and not the GEM module. The GEM module does contain the PATS. Lots of gremlins in this VIN. 😀
Anyway you know where you got the pcm pre programmed with keys from? I see someone said flagship one but im not sure on their reputation, wondering if you got it somewhere else.
Don’t get one from them. Had a bad experience from them … that was about a year ago… now working on a 99 ranger ordered on off eBay programmed ready to go for 138 bucks
Great video..when you say you had the blanks cut, is that just a matter of taking the old key to any place that makes duplicates and cutting the blanks to match? Or did you have to go to a dealer.
hey I have a 2006 ford focus 4cyl 2.0..was driving and it died..had towed and turned key i am getting dashes on odometer and no start no crank..I checked fuses I had a blown 20A fuse #9 so I replaced it..I switched my relays fuel pump and pcm and getting same dashes on odometer no crank start..today I light tested everyting and all my fuses in engine compartment are good..seems like Im not getting power to pcm like in theft mode..any suggestions? should I replace pcm??..

hi there--i had my car on a code tester and it came up with three things all with ecu fault--i have just had a secondhand one delivered today,so it needs coding to car,which is the 2010 ford focus econetic model,every time i turned key the engine malfunction light came on,and a loud clicking noise from the front of care dashboard area the immobiliser light was flashing fast,but after several key turns it worked,but the ecu will have to be fitted as mot in january

Everyone is arguing with me saying it’s the alternator, even though I ran a code on it do you think it’s the alternator? I’m trying to save money and I don’t want to keep putting money in fixing the car when it’s still not working
check the jack and cables that goes into the headlights...maybe some plastic of the jack has melted and gives u the prob or naybe there r naked wires or similar... take it to auto electric shop..check the fuse but i think its not the prob..
Forscan just google forscan. No more dealer to program keys, it's a full diagnostic software. The cable was like 20 bucks from Amazon, software has a free trial, I got the lifetime for 50 bucks.
Scott Sanders it could be the instrument cluster. Ford decided to “cold solder” the board starring in 2004. It causes an interruption between the PCM and the instrument cluster which causes the dashes to appear and no start. Do a search there are videos on it. One solution is to hot solder the board. Big pain.
@@ScottsGarage17 any tips for an "intermittent" clicking sound and electrical power off/on... NOW ... that has just become a "constant" no power (open the door: no dome, Turn lights or hazards, nothing Turn key nothing ..no power at all (Except a faint red glow on the little red led near the hazard flasher button, but when keyboard turned goes out) ...and no more clicking either... all grounds tested good, new battery, good voltage ...but nothing (automatic transmission)
Where did you get the replacement PCM with keys? Flagship One, or someplace else? How long did it last? Please tell. I need one for my '04 Focus with a false emissions code, so I can pass inspection.
Also how did you determine the pcm was bad? I'm having a similar issue with my daughters 2005 Ford focus. Car just shut off on her. When I turn the key on,I get dotted lines on the odometer and theft deterrent light blinks. I haven't come across any blown fuses in the engine compartment though .

Hi, is it the pcm or gem module? You will need to reprogram some functions after change it, like auto door lock and other ones....

check the jacks and wires.. maybe something has melted.. i had similar prob..
I have a 05 focus the number 9 fuse keeps blowing it's the engine management fuse is this the problem you was having?

Your problem is the tiny ground wire going to your battery is broken or has a very poor connection.
Figured it out the body ground wire broke and caused the fuse to pop that goes to the starter

john dittrich I tried everything else. It is rare, but PCM’s can go bad.
Was it the computer on your focus I'm having the lines with no turning on issue as well
