Thank you so much this is such a wonderful information my sons 2002 Celica will not start a check, spark plugs, voltage, fuel pressure, pressure on cylinders, Finally I decided to check under the ignition switch it turn out to be the main module was replaced at one point and the connections were loose, not at the plastic connector, but when it was replaced the wires were cut & portly reconnected, I connected each one properly make sure the colors match and the car started right up. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful knowledge I always look forward to seeing your videos I’m sure other subscribers 2.😊😊😊
Thankyou, its also safer to apply to the groove in the cover ,a nice bead in the cover will do the job ,as you don'xt want an over spill of silicone causing a mess on the PCB,making it inposdible to take the cover off at a later date.
Great info. Ive been replacing body wiring harness and other things because a dude stopped to help me while i was waiting for a tow and troubleshooting no start on my 04 Pilot. He asked did i want a jump. I figured why not, i hook up cables on my end and look over to see hes hooked up correctly. Well he saw red wire and assumed it was positive. It was not. I go to turn my key and see smoke immediately in my cabin from the rear. I rip off the cables and run to the back to knock out the small fire on my ABS speed sensor and rear diff wiring that melted from the abs sensor burning. I look back and my cables are on the ground as he speeds off. After replacing the body wiring harnesses on the driver side, wire had a burned ground from the abs speed sensor connector under the carpet across the trunk and looks to have stopped before the VTM-4 module. I've chasing down all burned wires, replacing the broken starter ground that caused the starting issue. I was able to start it in limp mode and move it successfully like 200 feet to my house from where it was dropped off in July. I parked and kept it running. Seemed like it needed a code reset and i start checking fuses again. I notice a 7.5A fuse for the VTM-4 is blown. I swap that with another 7.5 and the Pilot died. Only thing that turns on is the fans and some servo motor on the back of the motor now. No fire, no burned wires, all blown fuses have been replaced. All wiring has been soldered or replaced. I think all blown fuses are replaced. I don't know where to go from here besides pulling the ECM and VTM-4 module to look for burnt connections. I'm not getting any codes besides P0607 (ECM) and P0748 (Trans pressure solenoid) and no crank, nothing. No other codes with a Foxwell Honda scanner. I'm at a loss and don't know if I should scrap it, part it out or try to fix it. I'm $1000 in fixing it myself and don't want to spend another $500-1000 /to still have electric gremlins. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your informative video.
I’m looking to start doing ecu repairs, programming and soldering (previous micro soldering experience) and this information is very handy as far as why can car ecu go bad! Definitely many factors to consider at the time to repair a car ECU, thank you again!
If you need a new one is it a dealer part to be programmed by a dealer software, or can you send it to those places that will repair it and fed ex it back to you.
In my experience when I used to fix cars for a living, it depends on the make and model of your vehicle, older cars u can just replace, newer it must be reprogram, u must research it, like on your tube, Of course dealer will charge you five times more than private source, if you can find a private source with good reviews, & Warranty that may be the way to go, however if you can afford the dealer then of course you can’t get better than dealer, it all depends on your budget,& the willingness to do research, good luck.😀
Question: 2000 Honda Accord sedan V6 ex The only code I'm detecting is the ECM Timed out. I can't remember the # but I can run a scan again if it will help you. I have been driving it well over 100k miles with this code. I haven't changed the ECM because of the immobilizer. I've had to fight with this in the past and it's a freaking headache. I got lucky because I changed the tumbler cylinder and I have to wiggle the key some but it will turn and start the car... Question is... Can I get another ECM and change the immobilizer chip from the old to the new one? No key Smith round here wants to take on the job of reprograming this car... And I can't afford the dealership Thanks for ANY help! Great upload!
I replaced the head gaskets on my 93 s10. When I initially started the engine after the repairs it ran rough and stalled. When i tried to read the codesit would flash weird codes like blinking real fast 5 times and then 2 slow times. I believe i finally finished screwing up my ecm by trying to start the engine withe the scanner plugged in. Now it won't even try to start. Uugh
Mine did something weird today so mine at first when i wanted to lock my car it did not beep when it locks nothing after a couple of times of pushing the button to lock it did. Next later like 2 hrs later i tried turning my car on it did not crank nor the lights came on so that was werid the second time i turned it on it started for like a quick sec then it turned off. The third time i turned it on it started but my car like started idling at 400pms and the screen like restarted. I drove it for a bit and turned it off and on and it started to idle normal and turns on fine and i dont know what it could be. This was on my 2006 lexus gs300.
Hi great information, I'm replacing a ECM on a 2003 Saturn L200 is there any special programming needed for this ? or is the flash program from factory ok. thanks
with most vehicles new ecm you'll have to have it flashed with you VIN number of the car. dealership can flash it but maybe to expensive for some, there are other resources to buying a ecm online an providing VIN number to have it flashed an mailed to ya.
I have Fiat Stilo 1.6 16v 2004 year. Ecu mount on top engine 😢. Magneti Marelli IAW 5NF.T9 OEM 51759028. Hmm.. twice died in 2 years (50k kms) I have removed about 20-30 cm right from possition is mounted, now I wait to be fixed and to mount again. The worst ECU, I think it is..

Very good. I like that you showed multiple views, including under the hood and with an actual ecm pcm in hand to demonstrate

My car threw a u1000 and p0603 code. That could narrow the problem down to the ecu or the wiring right ?
