I was making some coffee while listening to this EP. Took me a good while to get anything done in the kitchen because I had to completely stop a few times due to hearing some insane drumming. Amazing fill-ins at 19:10! I am now convinced that you are actually from the future. Your skill level is pretty much the best I've ever laid my eyes and ears upon. You must be a part of a more advanced species. *Applaudes in standing ovation*
Tough to sink your head into at first, but after a couple of minutes or so, I find myself bobbing my head. I hope other people kept listening like i did, cause it grows on ya.
I'm pretty sure that I stopped breathing at 19:02. The musicianship on this EP is on its own level. GREAT work, Travis. Pretty speechless after listening to this. Purchased!
Throw some crazy guitar solos in Zombie Tyrant and it will sound like some Spastic Ink..love the EP btw love your style of drumming just feels so smooth like it belongs
Been subscribed to you for many of years and you never fail to amaze me. I have one request for a cover, think you could do physical education by animal as leaders?
Come on man, Travis isn't a covers guy. He's a pro session drummer. If you want him to cover a song then hire him for it, it's disrespectful otherwise.
All of your work is amazing! Dear Travis Orbin, I've been a fan for over a year of your channel, and I know that you've been playing for Darkest Hour. A little over a month ago, I attended a show in The Starland Ballroom in New Jersey which Cannibal Corpse headlined. One of the bands that played before their closing act were Suicide Silence and I want to say it was them that mentioned a shoutout to Darkest Hour and I could have sworn they said that Darkest Hour were in the place that night. I immediately searched around but to no luck got to meet you. Were you actually there and/or did I just miss you? Hahaha
I was looking for a timestamp to comment on, only to notice that after 21.52, I was sitting with mouth open, probably drewled a bit because of it, being baffled by the amount of rythm changes and insane accuracy on.... just everything I guess. In Belgium its now 4 o'clock in the morning and I'm never going to sleep again. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, .....
Hey Travis, why don't you keep the beaters compressed on the bass drum? I was always told to do so, I'm completely self taught and have a quite a lot of my own techniques but I find this one a little odd. Absolutely fantastic as always, true inspiration. EP bought. Cheers!
Travis Orbin Cheers for the reply! I find that when if I don't bury the beater heel up then I just feel off balance, which I'd expect as I've never done it before. I will give it another try!
This is real drummer porn. The guitars sound like when I'm jamming on my own and you know...you always imagine some guitar work there. It sounds like that :D. And you know, as a drummer, the imagined play-along guitars aren't very melodic then. It's cool to hear something similar. Although I can't really know if that's the outcome of such a thing here as well and you're a gazillion times better than me.
That's an interesting sentiment, thanks! These compositions were born out of drum grooves/patterns I notated over the years and some general stream of consciousness noodling in Guitar Pro.
Travis Orbin Yeah I read those, they were very informative! I just meant were you sort of driving along thinking of song names and had a eureka moment? As soon as I saw the name for some reason it reminded me of Vinnie's story behind "Attack of the 20 lb pizza" haha.
***** Hah! Nah, it just popped into the ol' noggin. A few people I know are inferring that it's sexual, which only furthers its inherent Zappa-ness, lulz.
I keep coming back to this video. Its so underrated! THE FUCKING GHOST NOTES!!!!
9:19
"Yeah I just made that transition flawlessly."
*glances at camera for approval*
So many polyrhythms within each other.. this is insane.

This makes my brain hurt. Travis you're a beast! Jolly good show.
Instrumental Progressive metal is amazing. Good job on this Travis. I love your snare tone on this Ep.

Travis Orbin Nope, it was just bought out by Amazon. There are plenty of people pulling in 6 figures on there! It's good stuff.
That face at 17:43 says, "Yeah...shit about to get real nasty." That little section is stank face worthy.

Hey Travis! what book would you recommend to learn polyrhythms!
space78511 Hmm... probably Peter Magadini's "Polyrhythms".
Dat brazzers look @ 5:40
+Kinroffi Hahah, cheers man!

Your chops in Greasy Moustache are fucking crazy. Is there a story behind why you chose that particular title?
***** No specific reason, just because it sounds Zappa-y, hehe. I touch on the song titles in the individual song breakdowns on my website.
Travis Orbin Yeah I read those, they were very informative! I just meant were you sort of driving along thinking of song names and had a eureka moment? As soon as I saw the name for some reason it reminded me of Vinnie's story behind "Attack of the 20 lb pizza" haha.

11:35 Dat Riff D:
But, how?
Are the transcripts for sale as well? This is great repertoire.
Will Christian The drum transcriptions are in the video description for free. Thankya!
Travis Orbin I think I'm going to attempt Ellis alley. Wish me luck
