As the number of cases in the community rises, there are significant levels of incidental cases
But we mustn't forget that having those people in hospital causes complications because of infection control measures
under significant amounts of pressure and are struggling with high numbers of staff absences

then a third category of older people who have comorbidities.
Maybe they’ve had a fall or chest pain and also test positive and it's unclear if the virus is having some sort of impact.
And when the prevalence of a virus with relatively mild symptoms is high in the community then you will see higher incidentals

A more sensible gov policy of targeting the elderly and the obese and those with comorbidities, etc, to be vaxed and boosted, would be more effective and less costly in terms of billions going into ordering hugely greater shipments of vaccines unnecessarily. Take vitamin D, Zinc, eat healthy organic food, exercise and your natural immunity will protect you against severe illness. Good health!
I have never commented before on this channel, but have watched John's videos almost on a daily basis. He is the only person I trust with his information and his down to earth stance on this virus. I live in France, where the daily cases are exploding right now, and am interested to watch John's videos because he takes a look at this virus on a global scale. An yes i have been vaccinated, also i live in South Africa, masks outdors and sanitizing before entering shops all helped. It is also a fact that most hospitalised patients are not vaccinated. As a side note yes i have had Omicron at least once and i am sure i will catch it again. Mild flu like symptons with a sore throat and headache, lasted about 10 days. I've listened to a lot of doctors here in the states and your approach is probably the most sincere and honest I've seen. You share the good news, I wish that was more prevalent here instead of the dark winter they are pushing. There is something to be said for hurd immunity yet they run away from that fact like its the plague. Once again you are a pleasure to watch and thank you.

It's be nice if covered some more topics in research but not in msm. Like long covid mechanisms in those who had covid but also those who got it from vaccination. There was a recent study on this out by researchers from UC Davison NEJM.

NYC resident here. I started getting a runny nose with a few sneezes on Dec 17th. No headaches, no scratchy throat, no fatigue, no fever, and almost no nasal congestion. Rested up that weekend and the nose issues had cleared up by the 19th. Tested positive for omicron on the 20th. I've been taking vitamin D3,K2, and zinc supplements for the past month thanks to Dr. John's advice in preparation for eventually catching this and based on this first test case will make sure these are part of my regular regimen, particularly in winter months.
For what it's worth, I got the J&J vaccine on 30 March and was unboosted, so by all accounts I was essentially unvaxxed at the time of infection. In short, I would trade this version of Covid for many of the colds I've suffered in the past that have persisted for weeks on end.
You ALWAYS will be unvaccinated.
The virus comes first then “the cure” then you get vaccinated. At that time the virus would have spread a porcentaje of the population with and without the upgrade of your system against the new virus variant.
2 “boosters” a year would be their recommendation . Good luck

He does make predictions based on the data he shares, and all of it comes true. I really appreciate the way you break down these numbers. It takes away the fear that’s been pushed by main stream media relative to the rising cases. Now, the challenge is getting ppl to see and understand this data.

I am unvaccinated and tested positive for Omicron on Dec 22nd. It was like a very minor cold that lasted two days.
I am fully vaxxed with Moderna booster and had classic Omicron symptoms about 12 days ago. Was untested but just felt a bit of a minor cold for about four days, been totally fine ever since and now have access to LFTs which are consistently negative.
If that really was Omicron then I'm happy to have it over with. In the past my parents kept me off school with worse.

Thank you from a group of us in the NHS currently in the process of fighting for our jobs, having opted through various reasons not to be needled, myself through anaphylaxis risk, after 30 years of frontline emergency service, am looking at being sacked. Appreciate your steadfast approach to providing information on this issue. Every country would benefit from having someone, like you, in charge of public information. In the U.S.A. all we get these days is fear mongering. Pitiful, to say the least.
There have been 2 epidemics.One is Covid 19 and its mutations - the other is an epidemic of Fear. Dr Campbell have been quietly combating both, with his advice on Vit D and Zinc etc - but his greatest achievement has been against Fear. I enjoy reading the comments because they are full of gratitude and that is a healthy response. Maybe we might start an new epidemic of gratitude...
The problem is that older people are more at risk and older people are just as valuable as any other age group. Younger people are not worrying about the risk of infecting and killing older people such as their parents or grandparents. When they do infect and kill their family members their attitudes change. And what if they infect and kill other older or more vulnerable people. And what about the random nature of Covid which for no particular reason can randomly kill healthy young people even if they have been infected before. It is not just about those least at risk it is about not infecting others. The world will soon wake up to the economic impact of Covid and the damage to health services. Those who spread this pandemic may well live to feel the financial pain in the future.

The problems we are having is that the so called safe and effective vaccine has been proven to be neither and this is admitted by Pfizer ( why are the vaccinated getting infected all the time?) Both Vaccinated and Vaccine free people are as infectious as the other, so there is absolutely no risk difference whether you are exposed to a vaccinated or an unvaccinated person. These are the scientific facts.

I had been taking vitamin D, Zinc and vitamin C for several months before getting Covid. I truly believe that doing so kept me out of the hospital. In listening to your podcast…I was educated to make the choice of having built my system up by using supplements. THANK YOU!

I am an MD and we have done much more testing and have seen many positives. I have some who had covid, got the vaccine and ever some with boosters and again positive now. I have talked to a few people in the hospital and admissions are rising but ICU is still the same. I do hope that omicron will be the variant that stops the pandemic and we start living normal soon. I contracted it on Christmas (go figure) and as of today, I'm about 90% better. Still some minor joint pain and a little phlegm. That's about it. I expect to be back to normal in a day or two, in which case the duration of the illness would be one week.
Less than 24 hours later and I'm back to normal. Omicron was a big nothingburger in my case.
Always grateful to you for making this easy to understand. Don't know what I'd have done without you through all of this. Wishing you well.
Dr. Campbell, thank you soooo much for sharing your diagrams and how all this is playing out. So much confusion about isolating, quarantine, masking and testing. Our lines for tests are getting back to where this all began, about 2 years ago and it is almost impossible to find home tests. Yep I have it. Caught it Christmas Eve off the grandkids! Alerted by a phone call Christmas morning when family tested positive! Negative flow tests but positive PCR test last Monday. My wife tested negative. I’m 66 years old, triple jabbed and totally asymptomatic. Thanks Dr. C., followed you side March 2020 and you have been a clear and true guiding light. I tested positive for Omicron today. I got sick on Monday 27/12 with fever 38℃ in the morning, some dry cough and just a little body ache.
On Tuesday I had a fever of 37,6℃ (my normal morning temp is around 36,4℃) and just the dry cough and did the PCR test.
Today Wednesday I had 36,6℃ in the morning, just some dry cough otherwise I feel fine. I live in Sweden and are double vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech and was waiting for my booster dose. And of course I take 5000 IU vitamin D. :)
Anyway... Omicron just felt like a cold.

How do you know for certain it was Omicron? Are you told the variant with tests results?
How do you know it's omicron? There's a long lag in sequencing in Sweden, so did you get around it somhow?
Why get a booster when you have had two doses already and got through Omicron? There is potential cross immunity against Delta and that strain is being heavily displaced - on it's way out.
Wow this videos has been so insightful, so I'm from South Africa so I was infected with the new varient and started having the following symptoms, a fever then followed by slight runny nose, slight cough and had severe body pain. @Dr John, I must say that the data you showed last time as to recovery I can confirm for myself it to be correct so from the day of being symptomatic it literally took me 2.8 days to recover today is the 4th day and I'm feeling 90% just still slight irritation but feeling almost 100%.
And in my case unvaccinated.

Love the channel, luckily found it early last year and always has great advice over the crisis. We had our first two community Omicron cases in Hong Kong yesterday, so our zero cases strategy may be as doomed to failure as Mainland China's is.

I live in Canada, I've listened to 2 provincial health authorities and Premiers, all have stated Omicron may have milder symptoms and less severe than other variants. Both state they are concerned with the fast spread and possible uptick in hospitalizations and waiting for more studies out of the UK and Denmark since they are ahead of us in Omicron infections. None were instilling "fear" but requesting patience over the next few weeks. So basically our politicians and health authorities are stating Omicron is milder, more like a cold in the vaccination, but they don't know how it will affect the unvaccinated!

Hello, Dr Campbell. Thank you for your tremendous effort. A quick question about lateral-flow tests. Perhaps someone from the community could give a hand. I've seen a video (by NHS, probably) on how to collect a swab sample. It said the swab should be rubbed against tonsils, but my test instructions mentioned only the nose. Which should I follow?
The ones I have used at home (2 different brands) is "the nose" alternative. Stick to the instructions and good luck🙏
We ended up with just the nose variety from China. It worked fine and gave us a postive on the second try a few days after the first one.
Thus, mandates and restriction enacted due to the Omicron fear should be immediately lifted.....

Been saying that for about a year and a half and people call me mad and crazy…….but in view it’s common sense that there will be incidental cases. The sinister part is when they tell you the hospitals are overrun with covid patients who haven’t been vaccinated, what they mean is…..patients with covid make up 5-10% of people in hospitals in the uk…they do not tell us that the majority of that percentage are NOT in hospitals because of covid they simply happened to have a positive test when they arrived……that isn’t a conspiracy theory, that’s the facts of what is actually happening, so when the government use broad sweeping blanket terms that they know will cause mass fear then there has to be a reason why, no government EVER should use fear as a tool against its people, that is what tyranny’s do.

First off thank you for your videos, I have been watching for the last few weeks and have found your way of explaining things and looking at the data in a fair and balanced way helpful and able to partly ease my worries about this tidal wave of infections we are seeing and what we are about to see in the next few weeks. This brings me on to my question for you. Please can you explain to all us very worried parents about how this situation we are in will effect our children when they go back to school. I understand that this will drive infections up even further and parents again will be looking at the numbers and very concerned / scared of having to put their children very much back in the front line of infections again as they retrun to school. I know that from the data that has been presented extremely well by yourself that we now know that this virus is less potent and has a differnt make up, but could the effects in children still go on to develop the same symptoms of Delta with it going to the lungs and other symptons of COVID. Testing problems in USA: 1) people were told ( in a fearful way) if they wanted to get together for Christmas they should all get tested first - so tons of NOT SICK people were getting tested to be able to show a negative COVID test before being admitted to the family gathering. 2) SOME people w sick kids that do not need hospitalization and have the typical “ crud” kids can get this time of year were NOT tested cause their totally healthy parents did not want to have to be placed in quarantine and miss two weeks work. ( CDC did cut quarantine time from 10 days to 5 days recently) 3) People who are non-vulnerable and probably have Omnicron did not get tested because they felt better in 72 hours And they did not want to be quarantined and hassle w work. So all in all I would say the USA has some “ testing issues “ and that MOST of these are caused by politicians

They initially stated that their numbers do NOT distinguish between dying or hospitalization from the virus or with the virus. This with the added confusion of monetarily incentivizing COVID diagnosis for government reimbursement. This is why I cannot trust anything the federal government tells me. Just looked it up and I cannot readily see this anymore. Do you have any insight?

Thanks for these daily updates. They are terrific. I'm from the States and it's sad that your videos are more informative and more accurate than what comes from our CDC. Testing in the US was a mess from day one, and two years into this it's still a mess. The antigen based home kits are sold out everywhere. It takes a week to get a test at a drug store like Walgreens and then a day or two to get results. Testing here is just barely better than useless.

My county offers free testing; the queue is an hour; results 30 hours later (in my case). True about home test kits sold out (though Amazon has one brand, which takes a week to be delivered). But the CDC has been a mess, and takes a temper tantrum when someone like the White House (i.e Fauci) tries to fix things, as does the FDA (multiple high level resignations over the indignity of the WH suggesting boosters based on data; they delayed things just to kill more people I guess).
I wonder if not having enough tests has anything to do with the US testing too many people that have been fully vaccinated and have no symptoms. For example, sports leagues constantly testing non sick athletes.
My husband had to get a test. He had to check multiple pharmacies (not just Walgreens) and wait for 4 days (but it was Christmas weekend). His result came by mid-day the next day. So it sounds like maybe hotspots are the issue. My son tried for his booster and had to wait days to get an appointment.

I would like to report 2 cases of COVID from unvaccinated people:
Female 30 years old and Male 27 years old with Crohn's disease
Symptoms started on 21/22nd December:
2-3 days of achiness and temperature - but I wouldn't say the aches were very bad at all, nothing like having the flu
We have both cycled through being a bit tired, having a sore throat, being a bit snotty and sneezing.
Both of us were able to walk around the garden with ease even when we were feeling our worst at the beginning when achey.
We have both been taking Vitamin D for a while and are both a healthy weight.
We were not told whether we have Omicron or not.
I was pleased to learn we will have a COVID-19 pass for 180 days that says we have had past infection.
Only 6 months... That's scientifically bullshit.

Be carefull and do not take this disease with ease. I had the same situation 26 year old male unvacinated. Arround 10 days after i tested positive i fainted and had to go to hospital. I had d dimmer 5000 (high risk of blood clots). So keep watching your skin. If you see any discoloration (skin darkening) immediatelly call the doctor and tell them to test your blood for d dimmer and other specifications... I dont want to scare you but this is the truth... Dont exercise or do anything much for about at least one month. And keep watching your spo2 and blood pressure. Plz respond if you see this
Even after a month and a half i had blood pressure elevation and rapid heart beats to the point were i had to go to the doctor again after a month and a half. Currently i have to keep watching my blood pressure and report it to the doctor. Btw i am a muscular guy with no prior diseases...

I knew this would come up :) Was just talking with my wife last night about how the 'positive' cases do not mean that is why they are admitted. I have Omicron right now, as do several unconnected friends. We are all gonna get sick, and get over it. I had a headache, dry cough, sinus issues.

Hot one night and freezing the next and tired and then a sudden headache and my ears all blocked another day and each day is an improvement. I didn't have a cough. Just unexpected things each day but nothing severe. The strangest experience. I had no shots and I stayed indoors since Feb, 2000. Go with the flow. At all times stay aware and alert for a severe symptom just in case but increase your D3 just in case. I was in a deep sleep during my birthday on Christmas Day. I missed it all. But I will be thankful if this thing is on its way out. Oh, and sip your fluids. Don't forget. I may have forgotten something because I DID get fuzzy thinking. At age 78. No excuse.

I tested positive on 22nd December. Extremely mild for me. Headache and backache for 24 hours, then a very light cough and sniffle for a couple of days and been completely symptom-free since. No fever, no fatigue, no loss of taste or smell. Still testing positive a week later though so still having to isolate, likely for full 10 days. Feel absolutely fine though, thankfully.
Yeah cause this stays in your body like hiv. Bet they figure that out later on and people who got infected will have chronic problems.

@@tinamina2634 There's really not a lot you can really do. There are probably tens of thousands of viruses that we come in contact with that remain in the body for life. Chicken pox is one of the most well-known varieties that does this, but according to a paper I read a few years ago, they theorize that there are probably tens of thousands, or more. Most of them don't make you sick, but still remain anyway. Then you have the millions of other viruses that infect the bacteria that live in and on our bodies, obviously those too are with us for life, but we never know it. Probably best not to think about it too much, and just carry on with life.

Had my first symptoms on Monday, today the fever has subsided just a slight cough left. Omnicron is basically the vaccine I had been waiting for in 2 years of this pandemic.

I also started symptoms on Monday. Sore throat, headache, runny nose, congestion, sinus pain, a little bit achy, and some fatigue. My husband has it about like I do, but our three kids (ages 4-9) barely missed a beat. I've had trouble getting access to testing, but I have a rapid test arriving tomorrow and a PCR scheduled for Sunday.... I WANT it to be positive.

My husband woke up sick with body aches, chills, headache and a sore throat the day after Christmas, so we had him tested & he was negative. He was almost completely better 24 hours later, but then I was sick. I had a horrible headache, body aches, runny nose, dry cough and mild sinus congestion. The symptoms got *much* better after 24 hours as well. I’m still a bit congested, but my husband and kids are completely fine. I’m convinced it was Covid and the rapid antigen test didn’t work correctly. It’s nearly impossible for me to get tested, so why bother. This is unlike any common cold I’ve ever head. The headache and body aches were brutal and flu-like but only lasted almost 24 hours exactly. We’re both fully vaccinated. I’m kind of hoping it was Omicron. If not, it was a strange illness unlike anything I’ve had before - intense and short-lived.
I had Covid late September, testing positive 5 months to the day after receiving the 2nd vaccine jab. I was taking
15,000 IU of D3 daily, along with zinc, vitamins C, E, A and K2. At age 72 I never felt too bad while ill, experiencing some chills, fever, and a runny nose. The nice thing is that I slept really well!

Please could you give any input you may have on people like me who have had 1 vaccine and had a anaphylaxis reaction and have been unable to have another. I've been asking for months as I have other health issues and I am concerned but got absolutely nowhere with my GP. Finally through another GP two weeks ago I have been referred to someone who looks into cases like mine to see if there is a safer option vaccine wise but I have no idea how long that will take and apparently its a new thing in last month or so for GPS to refer to them about this after GPs made some bad decisions. Do you have any advice or information for people like me. I cant seem to get a straight answer anywhere. Thank you
