That's right! It's a 'Rabbit Roll' because Hubby teases me that he feels like a rabbit when I try to get him to eat some lighter fare with this roll :P You guys are really sharp! I'm glad you know that Japanese :D

There's a sushi enthusiast blooming in you~! To get an idea of how much supplies will cost you check out our Amazon affiliate store above (link in video description). That's a good reference for the mat, knife, etc. Ingredients will be the bigger expense and don't buy seafood from Amazon. Getting everything you need the first time around will cost you a little bit more than the next time around (i.e. a bag of rice). If you stick with some simpler rolls you can keep costs down easily. Helped?

Oops! Looks like Hubby forgot to upload it and link to it :) We'll try to find it on Hubby's hard drive and upload it, thanks for letting us know - we're always a little embarrassed when we make mistakes like this :P

Would it be possible for us to cut the lettuce into thin strips like the carrots so it would roll tighter?

  • @VoreTechz1985

Could I shred the lettuce thinner with a knife to make it easier to roll?
My rolling technique isn't perfected yet and I still want it to look kinda tight...

I live in Japan part time for 20 years and love the food of course, but I found that japanese food outside of Japan is not so delicious even if you make the best effort to make it delicious. This is because japanese ingredients taste wonderful.Completely diffrent then in the West. Pity that people in the West don't know the real taste of Japan.I feel very sad because of that.Japanese food is just the best.

if you don't have a sashimi knife you can use sharp chef's knife.. usually when im making maki (rolls) i usually cut the maki's with my chef's knife.. ^_^

Ha ha ha, I don't think it means you have no life, but it does mean you've proven you can learn Japanese by watching Anime :) That's amazing! I know many people who have tried but never seem to quite get it. Good job~!

Apparently "Usagi" means "Rabbit/Bunny" in Japanese so this is basically called "Bunny rolls"? XD
