Bought one of these for my kids when they were little. What a machine! I remember fixing the tray once, to load disks properly. What a nightmare. This is 100x more work, but really cool to watch. Wish I knew what the different things are for, and why you're changing them. I'm a nerd, but don't know a ton about mod'ing these. I did mod a few PSP's back in this era though. Also fun machines. Thanks for making this content.
The programming, resistor changes, and the voltage lowering is to get the new chip running right. The black squares are capacitors I switch out as preventitive maintenaince. In the end I cut the IHS plate from the CPU so I can replace the thermalpaste underneath. Thanks for watching
Fittin in the GPU back into the motherboard by pure eye meassure was some pro shit lol (ik the aluminiun paper helps but still, not barely as easy as it looks) Also is very easy to tell whether someone's experienced or not and this dude made a flawless job, didn't even burned the motherboard once.
What's the ambient temperature? I have a CECHA01 with a 40nm frankie mod and the CPU runs at 72C and GPU 53C with fan at 28% ambient temp around 21C - your temps are super low.
hello, I would like you to give me your settings on your BGA machine because I have the same one and I can't desolder the processor correctly if you can give me a little photo of your screen, for desoldering and for resoldering. Do you preheat the card before? thank you.
@@RedOverlord i'm interested in buying thoose, i live in germany. Is the console modified in exactly the same way as the one shown here (especially, r the tantalum pcbs used)? what is the optical condition of the console you offer? how can we get in touch besides youtube? i have CECHB00 (the full black one 20 GB Modell), working perfectly in very good technical and optical condition. no heat problem and no graphics problem. but i read that you don't receive hardware for repairs. otherwise i would ask you to do a preventive replacement of the gpu on theese :D. i've heard that the B00 models tend to suffer from backwards compatibility after a rsx change (ps2 in particular), is this the case with the A00 models too?
@@frankyfife you can send me a DM on instagram @toinescustomsconsoles and we can talk there. yes built the same way. I live in the Netherlands ;) and yes A00 and B00 (COK-001) can have a bad ps2 side. one of mine has it too.
Looks like 868-12 board. That and 32 do not delaminate easily. My B00 has a 22 that does, no hope for that other than some expensive 3 zone rework station.
its a GPU swap from a later slim model PS3. its to deal with the yellow light of death the original 90nm chips have. 40nm GPU's run cooler, use less power, and overclock way higher.

@@RedOverlord I need to delid my ps3 also, but i'm afraid, i don't have any tools able to fit for the job :/
clean work bro literally best console ever but plagued with faulty GPU
thank you!
I gotta get one of these one day. Even though I have a beefy PC and a ps2 plus a few slim PS3s. You just can't beat a fat PS3.
the feeling must be very rewarding
yes it is :) this is number five
Frankie! Frankie! Frankie! Nice job brother
Great video my guy.
Thanks sir
Nice work mate 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing the process

Massive skill. Congratulations for being this awesome. Huge mod man 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great work mate , The HR460 is an awsome machine.
Sure is, got it for a year and a half now I think.
No complaints at all, nicer then the IR based systems
Awesome video mate. Keep it up!
Eres un tío muy grande!, buen vídeo!, aprecio y me gusta ver como una persona le da vida a un objeto muerto.✌🏻
Excellent job
Do you replace IHS in RSX ??? in minute 23:48 . Or in this ps3 he never was removed ?
great video
Awesome. Would you ever do a tutorial?
Not really necessary, I linked all the info necessary and computer booter did alot of videos about this mod.
@@RedOverlordI’d love to watch it!

ambient temperature was around 25c
Belo trabalho e a temperatura da rsx ficou boa agora abaixo até do que is ps3 super slim
Frankenstein was the doctor
Anyway, carry on
Thats right, in this case thats me.
I make a system out of parts from different ps3's
I responded based on the thumbnail
👏
I noticed you got error 1701 in your ps3 too, what its the issue? 😅
Where are you located? I’d like this done
In the Netherlands, I don't really do send ins. But I could probably sell you a system.
Got multiple of the same model in this week
which regulators did you use on the voltage mod ? if you dont mind answering
Its in the linked guide, they can be taken from donor boards aswell
Bro. I hope you love that NSC IHS TOOL 😀 You need more practice but nice Cut ✌️
yeah haven't done alot of them but usually there is no problem
thanks for providing me this IHS tool

Thank you
I have an A00 with a 40nm €750

so this mod doesnt need ORBIZ Mod chip anymore? only syscon training ?
Yes only SYSCON training needed
What kind of ic that you use to lower the voltage?
